But what the fuck -- he was rambling on and on, going off on tangents. I've never seen a press conference anything like this before.
The press sure didn't jump-in & interrupt him-- when he said crazy shit, like they would with Trump.
When he said he's committed to 'full transparency' at the border, but only when he's ready-to do so... and he can't say when that will be.
Somebody needs to say "C'mon!" back at him.
Towards the end, he started getting pissy about GOP senators, then abruptly went silent. His eyes took on a distant gaze, then he spurted out a platitude that was a non sequitur to his last words. This has happened frequently with him, and is a clear sign of coaching through an earpiece.
Yeah, I just re-watched that ending. I see what you mean. The way he broke the awkward pause with "But folks, I'm going!" ...and raced-away... was comical. Wouldn't require an earpiece-- a hand signal would do it. Somebody in the room points to their wristwatch or the exit & then... "But folks, I'm going!"
His dash out the door was streamed on The Hill. I'm disappointed they trimmed the last few steps off it, in their archived version.

I watched the final 4 minutes again... it was nutty as fuck. ALL THIS is from the last 4 minutes:
~"As you well know!" <-- this one of Biden's corny 'humble' lines. He said it several times, so so sorry for talking-down to the reporters.
~ "What was your dog's name?"<-- Nice Terminator 2 reference, Joe.
https://youtu.be/H4OzlOWNmIM?t=19
~ "DNA testing" <-- so we're going to DNA test kids who say they're going to join their father. And if the test says Dad isn't the biological father... Then what? Do we put 'em on the Doctor Phil show?
~ "I'm being facetious but not really" <-- Biden over-uses the word facetious. He uses it when he's joking. And when he's not-joking.
~ wandering away from the podium, toward the reporter speaking with a slight accent
~ "the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step" <-- jeeezus. That's a crazy thing to say, when discussing a 9 year old who walked alone from Honduras to the US border.
~ "sitting at a hand hewn table" <--WTF. He said 'sitting at a table worrying', like 5 different ways. It was in all his Covid relief speeches too.
~ "somewhere in Guatamala Mexico Guadalupe" <-- Guadalupe is an island in the Caribbean, 1,500 miles east of Florida, next to Puerto Rico.
~ "sell everything we have ... won't that be fun" <--- he said that, like, 3 times. Wasn't funny the first time either.
~
"My great-grandfather got in a coffin ship in the Irish Sea! ... But they left because of what The Brits had been doin'" :character-oldtimer:
~ "The vast majority of these children are sixteen year old seventeen years old and mostly male!" <-- as long as they aren't girls... then... whut?
~ "kids in these god-awful facilities" <-- who built the god-awful facilities, Joe?
~ unfunny big Kamala smile, when the reporters ask follow-up questions, like it's a hilarious joke to do-so.
