That's news to me. I thought the govt shut everything down, told me to stay home, restricted travel, put a moratorium on evictions, doubled weekly benefit payments-- without the usual restrictions on collecting unemployment insurance, such as the requirement to seek employment.
I worked in public events-- and the city stopped issuing permits for those. The awards shows went virtual, the Met Gala was cancelled last year-- and postponed this year. The dozens of firms which employed me-- all suspended business, went out of business, or have only resumed business in a drastically scaled-down form.
"I know there's been a lot of discussion... that people are being paid to stay home, rather than go to work.
Well we don't see :confusion-confused: much evidence of that." --Joe Biden

If the MSM call it a conspiracy, it is probably true. That's become one of the fundamental truths of our time. Perhaps this is why Fauci always looks so sheepish and acts like a naughty and evasive schoolboy. He personally authorised continued funding for the Wuhan "gain of function" research on Covid using a special loophole to get around a ban.

Interesting to see the journalists Tucker cites... confirming Slymepit posts from last September:

I'll say this for Hamas, they don't give a fuck about their own people!

Note: The rockets used by Hamas are crudely manufactured and are dumb-fire - they are unguided and have (at best) a very rudimentary aiming system. We'd routinely come under attack from these (or very similar) in Iraq. Basically, the firing post is a crude tripod turned to face the general direction of the target area, the rocket is let loose and off it goes.
(we'd frequently catch the fuckers just laying the rocket(s) on sandbanks or balanced on logs and using a mk.1 eyeball to guesstimate the fall of shot)
My point? They don't give a fuck where the rocket(s) land - as long as they fly, fuck it!

Exactly.
Well, looks like they're going to get what they want...

Their bints have babies in litters, so Hamas figures it's a productive use of resources.
I really, really hope our local Peace and Justice center holds a protest over this.

Humm, looks like Heina is finally fessing up and refunding her kickstarter backers:

An Iron Dome Battery costs $50 million and $40,000/missile (plus the cost of manning it, etc). The Qassam rockets cost roughly $800 each. The imported Iranian Grad rockets cost more, but Obama and Biden funded their production, so relatively cheap.
This is an expensive conflict for the Israelis, even if they destroy every rocket.

If it had been a matter of principle, it would have happened literally years ago.
Another dynamic has been introduced. One based around perceived risk now outweighing return.

Or. Maybe itβs the company doing housekeeping and paying out of insurance.

As part of our training, we watched a local "mechanic" (a turn-coat rocket manufacturer) set up his "sausage machine" (production line), line up half a dozen rocket-shells then start putting them together. The idea being, we'd be able to spot the tell-tale signs of a production site if encountered whilst on patrol. Using a very basic tool-set and assisted by two young boys (his nephews, apparently), the bastard was able to put the finishing touches on all six rockets in just over one hour (not including time to set up and lay-out components). Obviously, because of the "Allahu ackbar factor", the demonstration rockets were inert. Live rockets, for a variety of reasons, take roughly twice as long to put together.
The funny/annoying thing is, other than a few of the dead-giveaway components, a rocket assembly site is indistinguishable from any basic mechanical workplace - a workbench with vice, basic tools, welding gear etc.
We quickly came to the realization that it was far more productive to simply observe the best potential firing points around the patrol base, keep a dedicated QRF (quick reaction force - a rapidly deployable group of fighting troops) and deal with the twats on an as-and-when basis. Only problem with that being, it's a drain on equipment and manpower.
Note: We had tech-assets that done the "observing" for us - I can't go into details - and even though we did get quite a few false alarms, they were very useful. In six months, we dealt with about 40 individuals caught in the act of prepping rockets. Risky though these serials were, we not only stopped the rockets from flying, we also removed the crews responsible and on a couple of occasions, managed to live-bag a few chimps to feed to the INT monster.
Israel's "Iron dome" is a vastly up-scaled version of the opposite principle - reaction, not proaction - and even though it's highly effective, the costs involved are frightening. I can't help but wonder, given the size of the IDF (and their INT network), if it wouldn't be better to adopt a more proactive approach to the problem? Shooting down the rockets is good but the crews, the arsehole firing them, still get to go home only to return the following night.
Far better to kill/bag those bastards at every turn. Also, from a G5 perspective, it's better to be seen dealing with the culprits rather than enduring a nightly battering at their hands.
Oh, and obviously, Maj. Keren Hajioff...lots of Maj. Keren Hajioff!

Yeah, it's really weird that StoneColdKevin316 took-down his clip of Tucker Carlson on Fox News.
I'm sure Kevin suddenly decided Dr. Fauci is 100% reliable & regretted posting the clip.
There's no other possible explanation.

If Israel took care of Gaza once and for all, it'd risk losing its foreign aid. Fuck, even the jews in America now hate Israel. Iron Dome may be expensive, but it's worth the cost to not rock the boat and allow them to focus on bigger issues. Hamas is a nuisance, but Iran is a mortal threat.

"Consumer prices jumped higher than expected in April, data from the Department of Labor showed Wednesday.
The Consumer Price Index climbed 4.2 percent annually in April. Compared with March, prices rose 0.8 percent.
The annual inflation figure is the largest increase since 2008. Economists had forecast a year-over-year gain of 3.6 percent and 0.2 percent for the month.
Excluding food and energy, categories that can be volatile month-to-month, βcoreβ CPI rose 0.9 percent compared with a month ago, three times faster than the estimate. On an annual basis, core prices are up 3.0 percent, above the 2.3 percent estimated.
The inflation numbers came in so hot for April that they exceeded the top of the range of estimates of analysts surveyed by Econoday."
