I see a potential problem with having threads dedicated to particular people. Ophelia Did This, Zvan Posted that, etc.
They look like calls for witch-hunts. A single thread where bad BEHAVIOURS from the opposition are discussed as they occur is quite a different thing, isn't it?
I see a great risk of making a mirror image of FTB's hate-blog posts, like this. What do you people think?
OK, I minted the word "Baboollies" but...

Well, if we stick to the facts, with a minimum of opinions standing in for factual data, and with links, quotes, and screenshots, I am not sure that it is a bad thing.
Re: OK, I minted the word "Baboollies" but...
I certainly don't like the idea of ad hom threads, but there's nothing wrong with evidence: Lordy, lordy, the Baboollies demand it often enough.
It's probably better to document incidents though: they're so much more coherent than trying to create a personal narrative. for example, the Thunderf00t thing episode involved multiple players, as did the Justin Griffiths "I guess I see the Slime Pit differently" episode.
As I've said right from the beginning (as long ago as yesterday!), you can't expect censorship at the Slyme Pit, but common sense rarely if ever loses its value...

I often post stupid quotes from Baboons and their posters.
Instead of creating a new topic each time, what thread is the best place for this?
We could do with a general 'Periodic Table of Swearing' thread, where most of our discussion takes place. At the moment, there are just posts going up all over the place.

This has been suggested a couple of times and I'm more and more coming round to the idea of it.CommanderTuvok wrote:We could do with a general 'Periodic Table of Swearing' thread, where most of our discussion takes place. At the moment, there are just posts going up all over the place.
Lemme cons one up...

I give you the 'Periodic Table of Swearing' thread. On phpBB threads have to be contained in a topic, hence the hierarchy.Lsuoma wrote:This has been suggested a couple of times and I'm more and more coming round to the idea of it.CommanderTuvok wrote:We could do with a general 'Periodic Table of Swearing' thread, where most of our discussion takes place. There is precisely one thread there, and nobody apart from mods should be able to create new threads (to keep this all in one place), or to edit or delete threads - perhaps someone can try and see whether I've set the permissions up correctly to prevent this: how about you, Tuvok?
Post in that thread how it's working for you...
