My cousin lives in a tower block - a festering stack of junkies, career dole scroungers and genetically challenged mutants. The locals have nicknamed the place "heroin heights" and it's a brave fucker who wanders into the stairwell after dark. A few weeks ago, as part of my increasingly strenuous rehab, I popped up for a visit to check up on her (she's one of those completely "off the radar" types who'd disappear for a year if you left her alone) and whilst having a cuppa in her living room, an old battered 3-seater sofa casually shot past the window (10th floor) on its trip to the car park below.

I've been begging her to move into my place rent-free until she sorts out better living quarters but she's having none of it.

Many of the blocks are mixed accommodation - in that they have both private owners and also council tenants in the same building.

I once installed a dashcam as evidence against brake-check events, and that increased my paranoia so I abandoned it.

- Bhurzum and his associates feedback with regards to the Jim Davidson show is more of a grey area. I'm prepared to accept some incidents of 'bottling' but wouldn't want it to become SOP (not without chicken wire anyway). Probably anything short of live rounds is OK.

- Liberty University has a better record for not deplatforming that just about any other institution. Because they are not interested in discussing topics they find controversial in the first place. A better model might be to consciously put on lectures or even comedy shows that some would find offensive - so that such issues could be raised and if necessary countered in an environment where peoples physical safety was not put at risk. (nb This may be the sort of thing that Johnathan Haidt''s Hetrodox Academy is already encouraging).

So on the whole I'd be more in favour of 're-platforming' than 'de-platforming'.
