It's one thing for PZ Myers to want identity politics and white people to recognize race (too) in order to check it. But it's a whole other matter how obvious he treats it, and shines some interesting light at his character. It's nothing new. Just another indicator that whatever idea he had 5 minutes ago, he treats it as eternal wisdom that must be obvious to everyone immediately. Those who don't accept his latest announcement without hesitation are of course vile, evil, racists, misogynists, idiots and the likes.
Originally, the US civil rights movement wanted to go beyond race (as you indicate) and imagined an approach that has more recently been denounced as "color-blindness" by SJWs. Remember
"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character", that famous quotation of Martin Luther King, Junior? PZ Myers is such an imbecile that he isn't even aware that the newfound love for race, for white people, too, "to see race" and not be "color-blind" is a revisionist (!) approach based likely on Derrick Bell and the Critical Race Theory school that sprung from his ideas. What's more, the whole "colorblind" criticism is pretty much a unique US thing, hardly known elsewhere and only spread five minutes ago. Elsewhere, racial subcultures don't exist or fade into ethnic subcultures, and in German "race" conceptions are completely unthinkable. It's straight hardcore Nazi talk. The word alone, "Rasse" is the same term also used for horses and dogs (i.e. "breeds"). I noted a long time ago how PZ Myers and his ilk declared "microagression" and such as if this was three-hundred-year old "knowledge" everyone must be intimiately familiar with, when at the time, even the article on the Wikipedia was barebones without any other language version. That's of course typical for SJWism, to find reason for outrage and callout to virally spread their ideology. Either, someone's views are being misconstrued to be outraged, or recent special interest ideas most people cannot possibly know about (and SJW themselves have learned five minutes ago) are taken as "common knowledge or you're a racist", with which the whole "educate yourself" response of them has co-evolved. That way, people have to immerse themselves into their festering ideological virus bath, with their immune system damaged from social pressure.
The galling thing is not just PZ Myers beliefs themselves. It's this attitude that his
very american "left" views must be accepted as gospel by everyone. And that he is utmost convinced that whatever those beliefs are, they are correct, and of course left wing proper. He cannot even imagine that he might count as raging fascist based off some of his ideas, or that his US "left" ideas are perhaps even right of Angela Merkel (who is a Christian conservative in my frame of reference!). Being wrong about something is one thing, but the
utter absence of any perspective, doubt, humanity, understanding is what is the most appalling of SJWs like him. They have the moral character of an concentration camp warden. Either, they go with the flock, blindly, with utmost conviction, or they are sadists who enjoy the power over others.
