Oh dear. Steers, I was trying to point out that the joke was made by Bhurzum, and we'd all gotten it when he posted it.

Brive, that post about Bora is unbelievable. 10/10 top quality, mate.

Bora always struck me as one of the saddest people fingered in the false rape accusation witch hunt. He had that pathetic puppy-dog look and apparently that's fairly accurate of him in real life as well. So much for male SJW feminist allies. Or maybe if I want to be charitable, I could say that the SJW community is entirely too welcoming of manipulative DSM disordered game-players who abuse its "safe space" to gain power and control over others. If every male feminist was Steve Shives rather than Hugo Schwyzer, and every female feminist was Greta Christina rather than Melody Hensley, maybe then they'd be justified in their extreme in-group "kin selection" bias.

Don't get me wrong either-I can't stand Steve. The reason I never posted any Steve shit on the pit is I'd rather infiltrate any other SJW than listen to his drivel. BUT at least Steve strikes me as a reasonably honest person, and I guess Greta does too even though I also don't like her.

My point is that there are some people you're just going to have an ideological conflict with, and that's fine. But they're probably decent people. But then there are the Davis Aurini, RooshV, Melody Hensley, PZ Myers Asshole Supremes who are just out for themselves and fuck you if you are not immediately useful to them. Like when I posted a jeering comment on Owen's youtube channel laughing at Davis Aurini's political views, and Davis Aurini aka one half of the "Anita is silencing meeee" duo showed up to ask Jordan to ban me for being an "SJW troll." Haha! So much for my frozen peaches! I did gain respect for Owen when he didn't ban me and showed up in the comment chain to argue with some real racists who wanted to claim Jim Crow wasn't so bad or something. :D

This is my windy cunt way to say not everyone in a community has to be toxic, but if the community enables toxic behavior then the net result can still be very bad. Honest people have a major failing of believing others are as honest as they are.

Bora's website looks so miserable at the moment.

I don't know what to think about the witchhunting but... it's actually just comments, isn't it, that he's accused of doing? If anything? Made by an autistic with poor reading of social cues? And he's been just shat on entirely by everyone?

I feel like it would be nice to help the guy - his wife seems to make a fair case that this is all fucking witch hunting, and I'm into supporting the hunted - but I actually know nothing about Bora or if there's been any case/etc against him. I never followed this story at all.

Dear Fascist Tit,
can you please just rename this blog The Steerspit (because that is essentially what it has become) and save me a lot of wasted time looking it up only to find that it contains nothing but boring, repetitive shite from the most gormless cunt I have ever come across on the internet. I don't even bother logging in to use the ignore feature because all the other posts are replies to the oblivious gobshite, usually quoting him. It's just not worth scrolling through 90% of the site to find anything of interest.

He got accused of harrassment by 2x woman.

Both incidents occured in public places neither involved touching neither led to any form of stalking.

Both incidents sound like someone who as his wife said is on the spectrum vering blindly into the inappropriate. You know, like Carrier on a day ending in "y".

Both women it seems inhaled deeply on harrassment fumes and went "OMG this is the worst thing ever".

And the response was typical. The SJ brigade need to periodically hang a crim to punctuate their ideology. Bora, Hunt, shirt-guy, elevator-guy, Radford, Shermer, DJ.

Doesn't matter what their crime is. Really, doesn't even matter if they are guilty.

In other news : Country & Western music is a thing in Kenya.

From an article about the singer Elvis Otieno
Tom Turino, an ethnomusicologist at University of Illinois, explains that the transgression of Western music into other cultures is quite common -- especially in Africa:
"American country music has been popular in Africa since at least the 1940s. The mode of diffusion was through records and movies. In Zimbabwe, I interviewed one acoustic guitarist who said he got interested in the "box" (acoustic) guitar after having watched a Tex Ritter movie. The old "singing cowboy films" of the 1930s and 1940s were one important source of inspiration; I found one guy who was still doing Jimmie Rodgers imitations, and Jimmie Rodgers was a big inspiration in many places in Africa, including West Africa."
Turino also attributes this to the evolution of Mugithi, a style of music originated by the Kikuyu people of Kenya in the 1960s. Mugithi seems to have emerged from Africans' fascination with these records and films; artists wear cowboy hats and sing lyrical songs with twanging guitars.

Guy Morley, a British producer conducting an independent study on the link between Mugithi music and American country music says the similarities are undeniable:
“The Kikuyu were able to create their own brand using ingredients from Western cowboy music; they borrowed the guitar style, but incorporated their own vocal intonation that was drawn from their own traditional music. Like their inspirations, they built their music through good storytelling about life in the countryside.
While American cowboys reminisce about "selling peanuts on the roadside to survive," the Kikuyus voice their own unique struggles, singing about life in an environment "not much different from that of the cowboys."
Here is another Kenyan C&W singer Esther Konkara (she does other tyte of music such as Gospel)

Anyway, cultural appropriation anyone? Also, I hear Hip Hop is as big in Kyghastian as it is in Kenya.

*shrug*

Music is transnational?

Amy Alkon @amyalkon is a columnist trying to organise support.

It seems he was fine with SciAm until the second person Hannah Waters showed up.

And her killer zinger?

"The most significant event happened early in October 2010 after a science blogger gathering at a bar in the Financial District. Bora and I were walking in the same direction and chatting, a bit tipsy, when he asked me if I would walk him back to his hotel. I lost my breath for a second. I froze and stuttered, “No, I have to go.”"

Imagine if he had asked for a coffee? On this basis of this second allegation SciAm "accepted his resignation"

I'd contact Amy, SciAm and offer Bora support.

Oh Dana. From the Jan 2014 post linked to above.
I see Bora’s decided he’s spent enough time in the penalty box, and has returned to the social media world. This move was classic: mention you moved your blog from Scientific American, but fail to mention why, as if sexually harassing several women is just a minor whoops you needn’t bring up, then paste on a butthurt addendum saying you had no idea you should apologize again. That, combined with the fact he’s so pleased to have his balls lovingly sucked in public by his good buddy Anton Zuiker and assorted harassment-denying hangers-on, tells me he hasn’t learned a damned thing.

My worst fears are thus confirmed, much to my utter and complete lack of surprise: he isn’t a man who realizes he fucked up and will do everything necessary to make amends. No, he’s a predator who’s too bloody stupid to move on to a fresh victim pool.
If that was a dog you'd be forced to take action.

Incident 1: https://monicacatherine.wordpress.com/2 ... -happened/

Incident 2:
You know those "male privilege lists" that stink up the internet? The MRAs occasionally try and make "female privilege lists" to counterbalance them, but to my mind it really only needs one item:

[*]If I so choose, I can ruin your life with a word.

They say Orthodox Jews and Muslims assign a woman's testimony only a certain proportion of the worth of a man's testimony. I sometimes wonder if they're actually trying to counteract the tendency to never question a woman.

I lost a job once because a woman lied about me. I was supposed to clear the file store. I finished it before lunchtime. This woman went home at 4 and left me her filing to do, because "I hadn't cleared the file store". I did it that once, and the next day told her not to do that again. She ran to the boss in tears, told him the whole floor was scared of me. I was summarily dismissed, and was explicitly told when I tried to explain that I didn't get to defend myself.

Fortunately, I'd interviewed for another job before this incident, and was offered it shortly afterwards. This fortuitous timing meant I didn't need to tell prospective employers why I'd lost my previous job.

Worst employer I've ever had. I was temping, and when the girl who maintained the website went off on maternity leave I managed to get filling in for her. They asked me to agree to stay in the position until she came back. I said I'd be glad to, if they'd agree to keep me on til then. They refused. Guess what their business was?

That's right. A trade union. An organisation that's supposed to defend employees' rights.

The musical I'm in debuted with its first reheased reading last night. Went really well. The audience took a couple of songs to really warm up, but by the end they were cheering and whooping. There were people from a number of venues in attendance, and it looks like we might get booked for a full production next year. There's a second reading this evening. Here's a promo image what I drew:

And if you're on Arsebook, here's a song from the show (not one of mine - sung by the three girls above, the Jazzabelles themselves). Can't figure out any way of embedding it.

I'd just like to point out the irony of the entire pit coming down on Steersman's admittedly robotic understanding of the word "nigger", endless moralizing about the context and meaning of the word, and then casually using the word "niggered" as a replacement for "ninjaed". There you go Steers, you won your arguement. The pit has been winning it for you for a while now. The word "niggered" is 100 percent totally acceptable useage from pasty atheists if the goal is ironic forum inside jokes, truly the most noble instance of the word being subverted.

Okay. So. We're the Slymepit. What can we do here?

Theoretically, if we were a group of people who could help people and not just mock them all the time. I'm not going to throw a Mykeru, but this Bora shit seems genuinely fucking sad and it would be nice if we could help.
He's a victim of cannibalism. Is it so far fetched to assume that Bora, like practically every other "male feminist" SJW, was completely fine with all these tactics so long as they were not used on him, and even refused to believe that they were anything but true victims finally seeking justice? Look at the list of all his feminist "friends" who so randomely turned on him. Are they different people now that they aren't his friends, or had they always been this way, willing to believe any sick shit about any man, even a close friend they have known for years, on the basis of nothing more whispered gossip and tearful claims cynically designed to draw sympathy? To the point that they rewrite their own personal experiences to fit in the new construct, of Bora as sexist pervert, no matter how insanely stupid and fake it might be.
I don't know much about Bora, but do we have some of his reactions to other big names coming under the same fabricated moral panic?

Christ, The Guardian is running an article claiming cooking meat outside is cultural appropriation.

Because, I don't fucking know, ancient Europeans went straight from foraging fruit to microwaving the shit out of stuff.

Fucking retards.

'ninja'd' was replaced by 'nigger'd' when we found some dumb SJW making the very serious claim that 'ninja' was a hidden way of saying 'nigger'. I see no reason more worthwhile to use the term here than to piss off SJWs.

And FTR, I'm not coming down on Steerzo, I just can't stand his style of writing and argumentation anymore. I come to the Pit to relax, laugh, and see how everyone is doing, not to get anesthetized by boring, repetitive shit, thank you very much.

You could do with anaesthesia right now, I understand. I prescribe reading all of Steers' contributions over the past 3 weeks.

Last time I had a venomous sting was in childhood, but you evil bastards jinxed me and my head had an argument with a hornet's nest when I went to mow the grass this morning. After a handful of Benadryl tablets I went back with a spray of Raid and murder in my heart. I had forgotten how much those big black and white hornets hurt.

Nice to see plenty of pushback in the comments section. Bodes well when even Guardian readers are getting tired of this weebling nonsense.

I don't care if Steersman is right or wrong about the word nigger, I just wish he'd shut the fuck up about it.

Jesus fucking christ
Fuck this bitch. She was fat long before MRAs discovered her. She tried to bully Roseanne Barr for fuck's sake. She's an asshole who has always hid behind these various illnesses to protect her from people returning the shit she slings at them.
I feel kind of sorry for her. She obviously has a lot of medical and psychological issues. My wife has fibromyagia and it can be very debilitating and the treatments have lots of side effects.

The thing is.... my wife doesn't blame her medical condition of every other human on earth (like Mel does). It is just shitty luck that leads to things like fibro. Mel is so fucking pissed off all the time she will never be able to heal or find comfort. I fear her symptoms will start to run out of control (and perhaps already have). She should spend more time at the spa and the headshrinker.
