Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
I'm in moderation at the Nuge for this. I don't know why.
“A female student came into my lab when I was alone….â€
OK, alone.
“I had to work fast, because I knew that if it turned into a he-said-she-said story, it wouldn’t matter that she was lying, it could get dragged out into an investigation that would easily destroy my career, no matter that I was innocent.â€
No shit Sherlock?
“I was in a total panic, knowing full well how damaging that kind of accusation can be. Fortunately, I’d done the right thing by blowing it all wide open at the first hint of a threat, and getting witnesses on the spot.â€
What witnesses? You were alone, right?
“I went straight to the chair to invite an open investigationâ€
Which would’ve destroyed your career, no matter she was lying and you were innocent. So you must’ve been happy there wasn’t one?
“Suddenly, in the minds of these
fuckheads, reporting an incident becomes preventing an investigation.â€
Perish the thought.
“As it was, the chair, a woman faculty person, and a woman grad student met with her, she recanted and apologized, and I declined to pursue further official action.â€
Ah, THAT’S how you have an open investigation? I always wondered.

PZ is spitting chips about the new Dawkins interview - "Richard Dawkins stands by remarks on sexism, pedophilia, Down syndrome"
Dawkins shows how much his Dear Muslima apology meant by noting:

Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
That's not what doxxing means. The fact a name may be available does not give the right to use it outside that context unless it is clear the person is fine with it (such as a business name and address per Amy) It is more than just availability of information. It is also its original intended use. It also touches on how much effort is needed to find that name, assuming no links are given.dogen wrote:I found a link (can't recall where) to a forum in which ST posts her nym and her real name. So, the 'self-doxxing' claim is not totally without merit. However, it's not clear whether this forum post would have become widely visible if it weren't for the actions of FTB.SoylentAtheist wrote:I thought the "She doxxed herself" claim from the fact that she signed up to the freethoughtsblog forum with her real email address. And if the admins of free thought blogs have access to your email, well fuck, the whole world does too now.Guest wrote: What is the actual context they're using to support the 'she doxxed herself' narrative? I thought the course of events ran from ST mentioning her first name and obliquely where she worked, giving Svan enough details to put 2 and 2 together [a challenging mathematical equation for her no doubt] and doxx her full name, after which ST basically said 'yes she doxxed me' confirmation on heathen-hub?
In any event by repeating that name it is malicious as a matter of fact so the correct name for doing that is largely moot. Saying it is not doxxing is a smokescreen for their actions. But by all definitions it is a doxx.

So, who first interviewed the girl?
What procedures were in place to deal with an allegation of sexual assault? Were they followed?
Was a statement taken?
Who were the witnesses, and what did they witness, hear? Were they interviewed? Who by? Who asked them to appear?
What contact did PZ have with the witnesses prior to any input they made at the (hearing?)
She recanted....so no formal 'investigation' ever took place, right?
etc Maybe the forensically minded want to add a few more?

Rebecca Watson is worth who knows but has an undergraduate degree.
Rebecca Watson writes no books, but does snarky remarks on a podcast with people who know better science than her. She has a blog, where people quit because she overly controls them and only promotes herself as the Future Face of Skepticism.
People pay Rebecca Watson to go to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Asia to laugh at her own jokes and do presentations which get a lot of help from others to get done. With no own research.
When any news source wants someone to whine about how she gets bullied online (but throws her blog comments open to The Kraken and supports PZ Myers' blog bullying, that's fine)
Rebecca Watson makes a big fuss about boycotting speakers, with a sly wink to encourage others to do the same (meet her at the TAM bar during X's talk). She does actively discourage some speakers to be at events, behind the scenes, too.
Rebecca Watson makes endless movies - about Rebecca Watson and her opinions. For pay.
Anyone coughing yet?

Also. he 'declined to take further action' against the woman who accused him. Since when was taking option against someone who makes a false accusations even an option on FTB? Haven't they argued that taking such action would prevent other women withdrawing false accusations?

This may have been quoted out of context but it's an annoyingly badly worded thing for him to say. 'Inappropriate touching' can mean anything from momentary elbow-grip to grabbing someone's ass, so while Dawkins was undoubtedly thinking of the former, it is clumsy to compare 'inappropriate touching' to a mere coffee invite.I occasionally get a little impatient with American women who complain of being inappropriately touched by the water cooler or invited for coffee or something which I think is, by comparison, relatively trivial,†he (Dawkins) said.
Also there's a difference between a proportional complaint about a specific event which is made to the correct people by the actual person affected, which should not be treated with impatience, and the SJW style 'global complaint' made against entire demographics on behalf of other demographics and used to shout down more important issues.

We had dinner across from the venue, it looked empty. Tickets were for a maximum of 60 people. From the picture you can see no people an hour after it started. Knowing the pub, there must be no more than a handful of people over at the bar just out of shot. When I was a teen I used to wash cars at the local dealership. I got along great with all of the employees - I was the only girl - and rude chatter, porn, oggling of hot female customers didn't bother me. In fact, I strived to make them blush with my ability to talk like a sailor. The only time I ever had trouble (other than a drunk co worker trying to rip off my shirt, but that's another story) was when one of the mechanics used to pinch my ass every time he walked by. Now *that* was unsettling. I didn't know what to do, out of fear of appearing rude, so I did nothing. Thankfully he was fired, so I never had to stand up and tell him, "hands off the merchandise".
Yes, I was very naive.

We should be compiling your posts for future publication.Service Dog wrote:It's 25°F, on the waterfront, parked between the Queensbridge Projects¹ and the Tom Cat Bakery-- where I grabbed some buttery rolls & a loaf of raisin bread from the dumpster, earlier. Crumbs in bed, now.
In honor of ConcentratedH20, I've got "Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts" playing in another browser window, and you should, too².
My dog is warm under the blanket with me & I've got the space heater plugged into a streetlight. I wouldn't be noticing the cold, if I hadn't, for no good reason at all, thrown-away the A-frame puptent made from 2 sheets of 4-ply cardboard, previously above the bed. That thing stopped drafts, retained body heat, & folded-up flat against the wall when it was time to haul cargo.
For additional warmth, I've got a bottle of Absolut Elyx, "manually crafted in a 1921 Copper column still", a party favor I grabbed from a $1,500/plate gala; a couple weeks ago. The attendees were like the bad guys in Hunger Games. They smashed their soup bowls in a sticky pit, and the meal ended with diners being handed hammers-- to smash open their tables & find bon-bons inside. The waiters were bareass male dancers in jockstraps & chaps, with color-guard flag-harnesses & stalks of roasted brussels-sprouts as flag/cocks³.
But my dog enjoyed the leftover suckling pig carcass, from Cindy Sherman & Marina Abromovic's table. Their cup runneth over, to the tune of 22.5 cases of Peroni beer & 5 cases of wine, leftover from the event... inherited by me.
The next day I gave-away all 540 beers. One case to the staff at the diner where I take morning coffee and morning shit, one case for the gym where I shower, a 12 pack or wine bottle for anyone at the dog park who wanted one, the motorcycle shop over the Pulaski Bridge, the Fast&Furious tires'n'rims shop in Jamaica Queens, many cases the 3 smiling dreamgirls with the scrappy-little gallery in a defunct 99-cent shop in Bushwisk (for the guests at their art openings), a handtruck-load to the drag-queen bartender at basement performance space on the L.E.S. (where the Living Theatre used to be).
The booze giveaway was a good investment-- I'm greeted with huge smiles, everywhere I go. It's like I have a great set of tits & I'm walking around nyc for 10 hours. The tire shop gave me a free tire change yesterday, and I'm now 'sponsored' with their decal on the truck. Although-- the diner is making me comfortable by being =too= grateful. I miss their normal surlyness. So I told 'em the only thanks I want is to not pay the dime anymore, on their $1.10 coffee. The best giveaway was a single beer shared with an ceramics-studio intern, who turned-out to be a handful of months out of high school. Oops, I thought her Nickelodean "nick at night" jean jacket was ironic. Sorry not sorry. My wild summer of Tinder dating is far behind me now, so little moments like beer are my new thrill.
So *cheers* to the Hunger Games Rich Folks' largess. Next, I'm supposed to drive a vanload of their art to Miami for Art Basel, for five grand. I'm very nervous about whether the van will endure the trip. If I make it, I'll then help build a dance performance set in the old Miami Beach Playboy Club, and will work as a stagehand for 5 performances.â´
This morning, the awesome gay clinic repaired my crown free of charge. During intake, I marked "Yes" for the question about my status as a Migrant Worker, and circled "Street" under the multiple-choice about Homelessness. Afterward, I helped a tranny hooker enroll for healthcare & I was pissed at SJWs when the tranny worried about not being eligible for "Transgender Health Services"... on the basis of not, techincally, being "transgender". This what it has come to: a Tranny Hooker With AIDS thinks he doesn't qualify for medical care at the West Village clinic built on donations from the wills of dead 80's guys with AIDS... because SJWs told him he isn't, according to what they were taught in college, "Transgender". AND he's not allowed to call HIMSELF a tranny anymore. Fuck. But... I got him enrolled. Patriarchy wins again.
So, next it's Miami or Bust, with 'bust' a very real possibility. Don't call me Ratzo when we get down there, ok Joe-Buck? Oh no, I think I just peed my pants.
----------------
I want to say that I'm glad things are looking up for you but I'm not sure. Still, I hope Florida works out and you get a break from the cold.
I wish I could've been at that party, but alas I'm not an "A gay".

I think he did.
Hey, PeeZus (PBUH) , get somebody to read your posts before you trash your university's reputation.

If anyone genuinely has good reason to believe that there was some violation of laws, regulations or university policies, there is an anonymous reporting channel. To be perfectly clear, I am not advocating for anyone to file any false reports or to use this system as a means of enacting revenge, both of which would be unethical and wrong on many levels.
You should report any situation or University conduct you believe violates a law, regulation, government contract or grant requirement, or University policy. (But use 911 for emergencies!) You do not need to know the exact law or requirement, or be certain a violation has occurred or will occur. If you suspect something is wrong, the better course of action is always to report it. Examples of issues to report include theft; wage, benefit, or hours abuses; discrimination or sexual harassment; misuse of University property, or equipment; violation of safety rules; OSHA or environmental abuse concerns; conflicts of interest; NCAA violations; and intentional misuse of the University's network or computers. Select a campus location on the reporting Web homepage, and click on the violation categories which appear on the following page for a more complete list of issues.

So smears are A-OK if there's more than one person doing them, and if the object of the smears has a "history of deplorable behavior"?
If PZ Myers thinks he has enough evidence to convince law enforcement to take action against Shermer, he should report him to the authorities. If he thinks there's a reasonable doubt about his guilt, he shouldn't spread rumors that he knows could be false.
By the way, PZ has a problem with the concept of "witness". The young woman he called a witness in his favor in the case of the rape accusation against him is only a witness to his reaction to the event, not to what happened between him and his accuser (he notes that they were alone).
At the same time in the case against Shermer there's only one direct witness, the accuser herself. The other witnesses can only testify about her reaction to the events and her physical and emotional state after the event.
There are also some discrepancies between what they say happened and what the accuser and other people did at the time. But that's not for us to judge. We can have our informed opinion, but the only authority that can decide whether Shermer is guilty or not of rape beyond reasonable doubt is the justice system.
Trial by jury should never be substituted by trial by media, especially if that media is already negatively biased against some individuals and in favor of others.
The exact same thing should be said about Ogvorbis. If PZ doesn't believe that Ogvorbis' story is real, I can understand why he doesn't want to report him and potentially ruin his life over an admittedly morbid and horrifying plea for attention.
PZ, however, seems to believe in Ogvorbis' story but excuse his behavior because of his young age and his previous abuse. While these factors mitigate Ogvorbis' responsibility, they don't excuse his actions and if PZ truly cares about Ogvorbis' victims and considers them real e should report the admission of guilt to the authorities and let them decide the appropriate sentence.
Am I supposed to think PZ and his Horde are proud enough that they see themselves and their blog as better instrument of justice that the established law enforcement? What right do they have to absolve Ogvorbis and condemn Shermer?

Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
I had to go on a long drive a couple of days ago, and it took much longer than it should courtesy of the blowing snow. At least all the scans show me to be much less malignant than three months ago. While driving, I was giving some thought to Ogvorbis—evidently the mind turns to strange things when desperately bored. There has been some talk about his ‘recovered memories’ and whether they are reliable or not. In general, we all agree that recovered memories are as accurate as facilitated communication, and thus we cannot believe him. That might not matter if one’s interest is in pointing out the double standard of FTB protecting Ogvorbis at the same time as they throw meaningless rape accusations rather indiscriminately against anyone else. Most posters here seem to feel he has made up his tale out of whole cloth and has done so simply for the sympathy he has successfully acquired. I’d like to suggest an alternative view.
Knowing all that we do of the mass hysteria that constitutes the hivemind of the Flock, to recover those memories right in the comments attached to a post supporting an individual victim of sexual assault was either extremely foolhardy or an inspired reading of the hivemind. It succeeded (at the cost of disgusting the victim about whom the thread was written) when surely the prior probability of success must have seemed very small indeed. Nothing in Ogvorbis’s other writings at FTB or at his old blog make me think he is blessed with great courage, nor great stupidity, nor even an astounding insight into how to manipulate a situation. I believe his confession to be real, and that he has accused himself accurately. No, the memories aren’t ‘recovered’ - but doesn’t that make a good way to explain not having brought this up before? I think he is a guilty man who wants to be found out. He doesn’t have the courage to go ahead and ruin his life and family by the direct route of turning himself in to the police, but he still wants the burden of guilt lifted. By ‘recovering’ those memories he has enabled himself to put the issue in the hands of others at this late stage in his life with a built-in excuse as to why he hasn’t done anything about it himself, and now they can report him to the authorities or not, but it has become their decision and responsibility, not his. It’s a bit sad to think we might be watching a tortured individual trying to get himself found out and reported, and failing because his FTB friends are being too compassionate. For all they know he may be continuing to offend, he might be in a position where he is responsible for small children, and what of his own children if he has any? Even if there is no danger to others at this stage, what of the victims and their right to justice? The Flock have placed themselves above the law, and denied justice to those three girls. It isn’t their job to do that, even if that is an outcome that lets Ogvorbis live with his guilt a while longer - if these reasonable people don’t condemn me, he might say to himself, why should I condemn myself? To fail to encourage him to go and speak to the police isn’t defensible in law, nor is it ethical. He should be firmly told to do so, as the only honest and proper course of action. One could even call him brave for doing that, and whilst they are behaving more like a flock than anything else they could even mention that they loved the sinner but hated the sin.
The other thing that occurred to me is that the NSA programs that are supposed to trawl the web and identify certain phrases evidently aren’t working very well. I would have thought that the FBI would be rather interested in a plain confession to multiple child rape posted in an open forum. I would have expected that interest to include a preliminary investigation, even in the absence of someone coming forward to report the rapes. Children are not expected to make criminal complaints in order to start an investigation, unlike adults. That’s why we have mandatory reporting laws that make having any reason to suspect that child abuse may have occurred a reason to make a report and there is no choice about it. Laws that probably apply to some members of the Flock who live in the USA. I can only hope that Ogvorbis himself will realise that his FTB friends aren’t going to do the right thing, and he must do it himself.

Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
People who make up story to receive sympathy do not necessarily possess great courage, great stupidity or amazing manipulation skills. There are many compulsive liars in the world for whom lying for sympathy is, to put it simply, an addiction.Nothing in Ogvorbis’s other writings at FTB or at his old blog make me think he is blessed with great courage, nor great stupidity, nor even an astounding insight into how to manipulate a situation.
These people lie about their losses, their life and job, their achievements, and get excited by idea of making people believe them and feel sorry for them. Their lies become bigger and bigger and they do not seem to care about getting caught. It's extremely easy to lie under the Internet. The net is a heaven for chronic liars, who are able to tailor their lies to the feelings of the forum or post they browse.
When I read Ogvorbis' posts the first reaction after the disgust is that he's deliberately teasing people: he waxes lyrically about the "monster inside him", he reveals gradually more and more details, and generally fishes for sympathy in rather evident way. He even stops a post in the middle of a sentence. This behavior is, in my humble opinion, more consistent with the hypothesis of a compulsive liar who wants to be seen as a tragic monster than with the one of a person genuinely oppressed by the burden of guilt.
I'm not saying that I can prove that Ogvorbis is a compulsive liar, but the possibility that he might be one is enough for me to cast a reasonable doubt on his confession.

Myers is such a misogynistic privileged shit, since when does the accused "invite" an investigation into themselves? When they feel they are the one with all the power perhaps?
I feel (given the current US college environment) that Myers has produced enough incriminating evidence to hang himself, it would be superb if someone like Myers was the first major casualty of this hysterical rape culture fightback.
Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
And by the way there's already one person who posts on FTB which many people believe to be a compulsive liar: Avicenna.
Has Ogvorbis ever revealed any other detail about his life that seems outlandish and exaggerated to get some sympathy?

In Peezus world you can have a man person and a woman person.
Perhaps I can introduce him to the wonderful world of adjectives.
I wonder , in his scientific papers, does he talk about a man fish and a woman fish?
Or does he use male fish and female fish?
Trick question. Peezus is not a scientist.

This is about following my own principles, which includes the ethical responsibility to actually report crimes or violations to the proper authorities as opposed to trying to handle them via blog posts and comments. I actually believe Peezis as well, but if we apply his own "believe the victims" standard we have to believe that Peezis raped one of his students and then hauled her in front of "university officials" (whom he had biased with a false account of the situation) in order to intimidate her out of accusing him. That would be the consistent way for the baboons to interpret Peezis's story.

Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
My view on the Ogvorbis situation. In serious matters, rape, murder, suicidal threats, I tend to believe the person making the confession (i.e., I raped someone, I murdered someone, I want to kill myself, etc.). I can only see two reasons for the utterance of such a statement: 1) the confession is true 2) the person is seeking attention. In the case of 1, the proper, the ethical, the moral response is to go to the authorities. In the case of 2, the person is obviously under such mental anguish to make such a statement that they are probably in need of mental help, so again, the proper, the ethical, the moral, and the compassionate response is to go to the authorities. If the statement is true, then the matter is handled legally and properly. If the matter is false, the person can now get the help they desperately need. Do I, personally, believe Ogvorbis, yes. I tend more towards screwtapes line of thinking.

Well it looks like Hemant came through and deleted all of wmdkitty's doxxing bullshit. And either he told her to knock it off, or she just gave up. Who knows, maybe she just went to Adam Lee's or Libby Anne's and started dropping Skep's name there. Unfortunately he also wiped my comments calling out the vicious asshole on her doxxing, so apart from a mention or two from RatBastard and a couple of pitters, it looks like wmdkitty was not being a vicious doxxing asshole.

She recanted so the accusation must have been false, right? It's not as if it's the slightest bit intimidating to find yourself hustled in front of a tribunal consisting of the department head and "woman faculty" minutes after making a complaint, right? And of course no department chair in the long and storied history of department chairs has ever covered their own ass by quashing a report of an underling who got out of hand, right? And surely, no "woman faculty" would ever close ranks around a male colleague accused of misusing his position of authority over a female student, right?CuntajusRationality wrote:Here's another comment from Little Paul on the same page referenced above.Ape+lust wrote:Peez wrote:Again, reacting quickly saved me from embarrassment, but also probably spared her from more serious ethical investigations that would have really blighted her career prospects.

Just my opinion, but I started finding the Ogvorbis and Peezus rape stories tedious about the fifth the time they came up here. And now that we're in the vicinity of round 20, excruciatingly so. I actually turned off the pit for a while about a month ago when there was a volley of Ogvorbis related posts, and now we're getting both at the same time. I understand that the main issue regarding these is FTB hypocrisy, and that this latest outcropping started with MN's post. Maybe some people find it interesting. But I just want to bang my head on my desk when it comes up.

I'm sure there is some distinction(s) that allows you to feel that what you did was fine whereas what I did was bullshit, but from my vantage point that looks and sounds a lot like "it's okay when I do it."comhcinc wrote:That's bullshit. Really I hate this type of bullshit. You want to waste everyones time sending bullshit anon reports go ahead but don't ask me to do to. (oh I'm sorry you don't want that to happen at all wink wink)

Even if I haven't donated this organization does attempt to speak for the a/s community. As such I think it is important that they know that some of us fear that Hensley's actions hurt the mission of the CFL:
That is a big difference for your anonymous reporting page.

I didn't get a chance to watch the video but are they saying they can build and launch that probe for a million pounds? If so, then I call no way. Not with 100 million pounds could they do this.Jonathan wrote:Have any of you been following this?

Agreed. The dead horse has been flogged down to its bones now. There's no new information coming in on it, so it feels very repetitious.jugheadnaut wrote:Just my opinion, but I started finding the Ogvorbis and Peezus rape stories tedious about the fifth the time they came up here.

I'm in the Oggie is a Poe/deluded camp. It's too much like the false memory stuff i read about during the Satanic abuse hoax: it starts with memories of being abused himself them moves into confabulations of events in which he was the perpetrator.
I think that, at worse, Oggie was playing doctors and nurses/you show me yours and I'll show you mine like any curious 12 year old and the abuse narrative has twisted it into something entirely sinister.
All that stuff about struggling with his demons sounds like he's going to blame his Dark Passenger next.

The current target is to fund the planning and development. There's going to be another drive a few years down the line to raise funds to build the thing and fill up the time capsule, I think.katamari Damassi wrote:I didn't get a chance to watch the video but are they saying they can build and launch that probe for a million pounds? Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
So this is the official University of Minnesota Morris' rape/sexual harassment investigation policy:
The victim is held in a room supervised by an associate of the accused ...
Then frogmarched to an instantly set up "investigation"
Where the victim is then harangued for the "severity" of her accusations.
Sounds perfect, I'd be surprised if we don't see a version of this procedure in every College's student handbook by early next year.

Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
I recommend reading the Hunger Games trilogy. Yes, they are "young adult' category, so there is some young love angst and squeeing over dresses. But Collins' writing is taut and highly evocative. In a few terse sentences, Collins can convey the milieu and the passions of the characters. IMO, the quality of the storyline does go down with each book. In Mockingjay, there's one overly-convoluted, highly implausible plot twist, which I do hope they remedy in the films.jugheadnaut wrote: I haven't read the books since they are considered 'young adult' literature and I probably can do better with my limited reading time. I watched the movies because the reviews were pretty good and I wanted to have some knowledge of something that's become a pop culture phenomenon. I give both movies a mixed review. The production quality and much of the acting seem to greatly outstrip the source material.
As I mentioned, I found the lack of nuance and back story a serious impediment to my enjoyment of the movies, so I checked out the wiki (because the basic story is uninteresting to me, I wasn't overly concerned with spoilers). Here's the article on President Snow. There's no nuance or mitigation there, he's just plain a nasty shit. I guess whether you want to use the word 'evil' is a matter of semantics. History's worst malefactors, including Hitler, thought they were acting in the name of some greater good. This doesn't mean they weren't evil, at least by my definition.
The story is allegory for our present 1%/99% plutocracy. In any good allegorical science fiction, the elements are exaggerated to some extent to make the point.
I wouldn't place Snow in the same ranks as Hitler or Pol Pot. I see him more as Dick Cheney without any restraints. Everything Hitler did was about Hitler and his personal demons, and his hatred of the world. One needn't be megalomanic, sadistic, or foaming at the mouth to engender great suffering. As with our 1%ers, the citizens of the Capital view themselves as inherently different and more deserving than the 99% / District residents. That's all it takes.
*I thought Jennifer Lawrence was pretty bad in the first half of Catching Fire, which surprised me because I've liked her in everything else I've seen her in. But she redeemed herself in the second half when she could let her emotions flow
NOT REALLY A SPOILER
In Catching Fire, Katniss is not given much to do other than be confused and shell-shocked. The book gave more of an explanation of what was going on in her head, which wasn't presented properly in the film. Can't blame The Goddess Jennifer for that.

She's 18, but inexperienced (her first kiss comes in Catching Fire). She has feelings for both Gale and Peeta, and can't make up her mind. However she feels romantically about Peeta, they bonded during The Hunger Games, he's been very good & kind to her, and she cares very much about his safety.dogen wrote:
I saw Catching Fire for the first time just a few days ago. What stood out like a sore thumb for me was Catniss' additute toward Peeta. All cold shoulder until they got into the arena, and then she was all over him. Can someone who's read the books explain this to me? Why did her feelings turn on a dime? And why did she want him to escape the arena with her?

That happens. You probably used a word he'd going to review before he lets it through.
FWIW, he's never failed to let any of my moderated posts through. But he checks because I quote people and they use bad words like "demented fuckwit."

I have N.A.S.A. I don't need some spunky british start up. We are planning a trip to Mars, the moon is old news.
Also I don't see anywhere about seeking promise to go to America's moon.

You'd think that people would rebel soon enough if the government would make their children die for the amusement of the masses. As with our 1%ers, the citizens of the Capital view themselves as inherently different and more deserving than the 99% / District residents. That's all it takes.
I like the books and the movies, and I understand that it's a satirical exaggeration and necessary for the plot to work, but this is something that always stretched my suspension of disbelief.

Of course I believe that someone could report what Myers himself has written on this topic, and the university can do whatever they please with that report. What leads you to believe otherwise? You seem to be suggesting that a person's own words cannot or should not be used as the basis for filing a report, but perhaps I am misunderstanding what you meant.comhcinc wrote:So you actually think some one here can really report something he did based off what he said on his blog? It is completely hearsay. Hearsay that happened how long ago? Even if it's true and he and the head of the department or whatever did violate some rule do you think they wouldn't just cover their ass?
If that is what you believe okay fine. You are stupid sumabitch then.
Maybe I misunderstood what some others have written on the matter as well, and nobody genuinely believes there was any legitimate wrong-doing on Myers' part. In which case, my mistake, I guess I am a stupid sumabitch then.
