Young one! (just kidding, I'm freshly 35). But there are laws that make underage solicitations and subsequent providings by legal-aged third parties of pornographic pictures a liability. Add to this that the underage person threatens legal actions on the main board, and...well... do I need to call my lawyer now? Your concern is much appreciated, though.

The ban was a good idea; she attempted to solicit someone to break the law, itself illegal with the dick pic request. I would think that knowingly publishing someone's illegal request could be illegal. That and the threat would seal a permanent ban for me.Lsuoma wrote:Yep. Her admission of being a minor and the threat to call the feds on Decius combined with her interactions elsewhere with a self-confessed paedophile led my SiL to advise me to ban her immediately and permanently.Phil_Giordana_FCD wrote:Sounds like what I recall, yes.Zenspace wrote:
If memory serves (sometimes it does, sometimes not so much) the slash/fic begat a lot of cross talk with EU at the center. That wasn't what led to the ban, however. Somewhere in the mix, EU explicitly solicited photos of penises from the membership. That pulled everything to a grinding halt, the ban followed and for good reason. The ban was initially temporary while Lsuoma studied his options. In the course of that break, Lsuoma discovered EU posting in another forum in such a way that it convinced him that the potential legal exposure was real and present. Discussion with his lawywr SiL(?) confirmed his concerns and the ban was made permanent.
That my recollection, anyway. Lsuoma, does that ring any bells?

I'm hesitant to endorse this particular approach without a proper scientific review (which, based on a cursory Googling I've been unable to find). That being said, the "proof is in the pudding" so to speak, and his testimonial and pictorial evidence are both compelling. It would be unfortunate if this were pure "snake oil", as many of the underlying principles seem to make sense on an intuitive level.

It would be really, really fucking awesome if this really could be adapted to world wide use though. I'd so like to buy into the idea.

Some of the rebuttals I read indicated that his approach would be unsuitable for large areas of NA, however, as they haven't seen migratory mega-herds since the ice ages, and the plants that grow there now are not adapted to this form of growth cycle. Can the plants be replaced without causing undue damage? I've no idea, I'm an idiot!Mzone wrote:First off, there is insufficient livestock to do this on the 50% of the 95% he is suggesting. This is the first initiative, that I have seen, that has hope of making real impact on the lives of people in the poorer parts of the world. Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors for cheap clean energy and this initiative to slow/prevent desertification, provide food, and a realizable carbon capture strategy. Carbon Tax and transfers will do nothing except make the US economy worse off than it already is. (This is my opinion and subject to change).
