What I find most interesting about the FftB Youtube experience is that even FftB realizes that their act cannot survive open, unmoderated exposure in a public forum - hence the refusal to permit comments. The recent Carrier A+ video is the perfect example. Their profit motive is centered around blog hits and the video views will not contribute to that (as far as I know) coupled with the links back to FftB with the all-but-guaranteed trashing they would get from the tens of thousands of slymers in the youtube audience basically creates a lose-lose environment for them.

I agree with that, but I don't think $4 is in any way a limit. People might have to change their situations (like moving closer to work) or significantly cut back on luxuries, but that's not really the same thing as making it economically unbearable.

We actually have a lot of re-urbanization going on here in the US. People moved to the suburbs, but the routinely long commutes, multi-hour traffic jams and expense for the long commutes has started pushing people back into neighborhoods their parents and grandparents fled from in the 1950s and 1960s. It's not universal by city. But you do see a lot of it.

The reality is that there's a problem with the entire memespace. It's based upon the notion that ALL women act/think in a certain fashion, which in reality is deeply sexist. To be honest, years ago when you met a MRA in the wild, chances are that he was a MGTOW (even if there wasn't a term for that as of yet). The MRA movement is built upon MGTOW feelz, or at least it's always looked that way to me. It's one of the big reasons why I still have a lot of negative associations to that label.

My understanding is that it was the PUAs who got the ball rolling and everything else, the entire "manosphere" organically formed out of that group.
