Incidentally, The Seattle Weekly ceased it's print version, so they must have sold the vending boxes to China daily. Not some conspiratorial takeover.

Maybe a compromise; jail / commit all unsuccessful candidates for 12 months.

Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country," she said. "He's just not worth it."

It was Pelosi's most direct comment yet on Trump's possible impeachment, a topic she has dealt with cautiously as it carries the potential to sharply split Democrats and the public ahead of next year's White House and congressional elections.

Translation: Not politically viable right now, and we don't want to start an impeachment that takes 10 - 20 months, leads to an acquittal and fires up the MAGAts. Check back in another couple of months to see if the additional allegations and evidence piling up are enough to help a few "law and order" republicans locate their spines.

It's pretty ironic that Trump criticizes the Dems for being socialist.

When even before the election he was talking about "seizing the means of production".

This is hilarious.

Apparently some of Trump's former fans online are now switching to (jokingly?) supporting Andrew Yang, a Democratic candidate, just because Yng promised $1000 a month for everyone in the United States as part of an Universal Basic Income scheme.

Since they're mostly 4channers/Pepe the Frog fans, this is the result:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1V6OP9X0AABMaW.jpg

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1JdhNxWkAExNo8.jpg

Even Faith Goldy is (likely ironically) jumping on the "Yang Gang" bandwagon:

https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/11 ... 00x400.jpg

Who knew that the key to get support from the online Trump brigades was promising them 1000 a month

The concern about losses of jobs due to automation is actually not completely irrational:

I don't know if Yang's UBI scheme can really work, but he surely seems at least a little bit saner than Trump. So, while it's funny to see Trump fans flocking to Yng over money, it's kind of an improvement, I think?

Andrew Yang seems like an average Democratic candidate with some sensible ideas (healthcare reform, marjuana legalization, ending the War on Drugs, ending private prisons) that are supported by basically all Democrats, some interesting ides (like funding local journalism or rebuilding infrastructure) that are pretty uncommon, and of course his big selling point, the UBI scheme (I have no idea if it'll work; I haven't read a lot about UBI and I know it more or less failed in Finland, but I don't know if Yang's scheme is different).

I don't think he's likely to win the Democratic nomination, but he got enough donations to get into the debates.

I have no idea why so many Trump fans are so excited about him, though, he seems like an average Democrat and he's supporting a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants and the DREAM Act, quite a change from "build a wall and make Mexico pay for it".

Unless it's perspective of getting money that excites them.

Trump has lost 4chan, Faith Goldy, and now because of a Chinese-American candidate that wants to halt the loss of the white demographic, the Daily Stormer.

He's talking about general trends on Twitter and 4/8Chan. Even Goldy is mockingly onboarding. Being Swiss, I think Kirb is unlikely to know of any Trump fans IRL.

There is a clearly brewing exodus from Trump Town, with Coulter, Goldy, Tucker and others disappointed with the man. Might be interesting, especially if a Republican mounts a primary challenge to Trump.

Yeah I'm baffled by the Pepe the Frog fans switching to the YangGang. Yang has pretty much nothing in common with Trump.

I'm still not sure whether they're serious or only taking the piss.

What is interesting is how some Trump fans, from Coulter to Carlson to his online fans, are abandoning him, which doesn't bode well for his re-election bid.

Patrick Moore, from the northern part of my neck of the woods was an early, influential member of Greenpeace but technically the founders were Irving and Dorothy Stowes and Jim Bohlen. (Bohlen lived the last decades of his life on Denman Island, about 5 miles south of chez ftp and died in the local hospital.
Patrick Watson of the Sea Shepherd Society also claims with Moore to be a co-founder but is another early influential member.
Moore came from a logging family on the northern end of Vancouver Island and had a forestry degree. I'm shocked he's a climate change denier but he never was a strict environmental preservationist or an animal rights activist like the present leadership/membership. Green peace originally started to protest nuclear testing at Amchitka Island, Alaska because of concerns of triggering earthquakes as well as nuclear contamination in the geologically unstable area as well as concerns about the nuke weapons race. The early years saw them look to broader environmental issues (I actually was a card carrying non-influential member during this period), but by 1977 after several other orgs using the name Greenpeace had flared up and the original Greenpeace after basically going broke was taken over by more radical, less pragmatic types and moved out of Vancouver area into the US. That is when Moore made his break with them.
Moore I think may have become more conservative since the 1970s, but was always more conservative than what we see in today's Greenpeace. As I see it, they have been taken over by animal rights fanatics and space cadets that have a cartoonish picture of what happens in the environment and are totally clueless as to how to control or mitigate that human activities cause. That not only drove out the always conservative Moore but more centrist pragmatic types like me.
50 years of Greenpeace in a nutshell.

I meant to post this earlier when you posted something similar on the main thread. I think you're confusing "abandoning" with "disappointed". Trump's re-election will depend entirely on who the Democrats nominate. If it's the craziest SJW they can find, Trump will win. For the same reason that Clinton lost.

Possibly. But that's assuming that the Democratic candidate will be the craziest SJW they can find. For now those leading the polls are Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, not exactly the craziest SJWs in the Democratic party.

Don't worry, I'm sure that Faith is only mocking her own shitposter fans, she's not really gone full YangGang, you can still pitch to her your plan to reduce the Chinese menace in Australia.

The point I was trying to make (beside laughing at the insanity of the frog memes) was that there's a lot of disaffection in the Trump camp, to the point that even weird stuff like this happens. It's the usual joking-not joking gig that takes place among online shitposters, but it's indicative of the Trump team losing a lot of their enthusiasm.

The dissatisfaction is less with Trump than with the dysfunction of Congresss.

No one wants to see Water’s gang in power. It’d be like leaving your house keys with the horde. Trump may be a criminal grifter, but his default pitch is for a vision of national strength. The Democrat default position is towards national disintegration.

Just saying.

Well, I'm not buying this. There's more than a few former Trump uber-fans who aren't very fond of the guy now. His net approval rating is a disaster.

Hyperbole much? The Dems have their own crazy SocJus wing, but it doesn't look like they're as influential as they wish to be or as the GOP media wants us to believe they are. At least for now.

Sure, the Dems can still shoot themselves in the foot by starting a civil war in the primaries over the Woke Olympics and nominating someone like Kristen Gillibrand. But that's far from certain. Biden and Sanders are still very popular, and neither of them is exactly a woke uber-fan. Obama himself has expressed skepticism of the woke excesses at times, as have Warren. And Gillibrand herself is losing steam.

There's still plenty of time, but it's undeniable that Trump is getting the short end of the stick. He won many states in 2016 by very small margins, so even a slight loss of enthusiasm in his fan base could doom him, even against an uninspiring Democratic candidate. And if the Dems elect someone who's even slightly more popular than Clinton, Trump is going to crash and burn.

The election is for the Democrats to lose.

Trumpian engineering. Next, he'll pander to us older guys and bring back the '64 Plymouth. My first car, older than me, but reliable, easy to fix. Yeah, fuck this computer car shit.
Trump is the first Juggalo president.

"Fucking planes, how do they work?"
And then you realize that he doesn't fly his own plane and these tweets are actually about how he can't get the TV to do what he wants without handing the remote to Jared...
Pilots and other experts have been warning us for years that planes are becoming over computerised.

It’s hilarious and sad in equal measure to see otherwise sensible adults succumb to TDS

Silly engineers and experts. You're right, I'd rather believe an anonymously-sourced article that doesn't argue per se that the planes are dangerously over-engineered, but that pilots need more flying practice.

Nice white-knighting for Trump. These middle aged crushes are always so sweet.

Excuse me, not anonymous, but fails to link the study. You can find a couple of people bitching about any level of automation. The reason they do it is to increase efficiency and safety. They don't just engineer planes for shits and giggles, there's science and studies behind it, I'm told. Imagine that.

Also, "hur dur, Trump Derangement, dur" doesn't really dismiss criticism of Dear Leader.

But, seriously, my question remains unanswered; we're acknowledging that Trump is very likely guilty of several felonies, yes?

MAGAite Jacob Wohl, who tried to frame Robert Mueller, among other scandals, pulls a Smollett. Unfortunately, a lot of people that were up in arms about Smollett are curiously quiet about Wohl.

Faith and Jacob Wohl overheard talking last week at CPAC.
FG: Did I ever tell me how I was attacked by antifa and there was a big car chase where I had to stop and hide my licence plate then I got stuck between 2 scary white government vans full of illegal immigrants? It was really scary and not a bunch of made up bullshit, honest.
JW: Wow. Did you know that ever since I tried to report Mueller for raping that woman the deep state has been coming after me and some gay Hispanic dude tweeted threats at me.
FG: you should report that to the police and Alex Jones.
JW: Good idea, I think I will.

I have never heard of the guy and his website sucks... so... haha... yeah. He is a nobody with no support. I don't know any Trump supporters who are a fan if this guy. Universal basic income... really? What Trump fans are you talking about? Names please, or it didn't happen.

Coulter, Tucker, etc., are trying to influence the discussion and pressure Trump to do things their way. This does not mean they will not vote for him with enthusiasm in 2020 (unless Trump is somehow primaried). It doesn't mean much that these talking heads are grousing. It is their job.

If they're willing to criticize him, it means that his base is eroding. They wouldn't dare if he had the full support that he used to have. A Venn Diagram of Coulter, Tucker, Goldy etc viewers and Trump voters is gonna be one big circle. Republicans are looking to rebuke the POTUS for his emergency powers stunt. He lost political capital. If the economy dips, the rest will turn on him viciously.
