Those are not mutually exclusive statues.

Most of all, though, Trump is a shit-stirring troll. He floods the news with idiocy, whether deliberately or not, and people discuss the idiocy while the important stuff gets less focus.

Tick-Tock, motherfuckers.
He will need to improve his quantity and quality.

So far we have:
+ Papadopoulos who got 14 days for false statements to FBI
+ Manafort for pre Trump Ukrainian work and dicking his personal finances
+ Gates (who worked for Manafort) for similar peripheral offences
+ Flynn for false statements to FBI

That looks like a typical Washington staffer’s CV.

Slim pickings for a fishing expedition that began in May 2017 and which promised to land Trump for collusion to steal an election. It would be nice to connect at least one kipper with the neo-Soviets.

So, you're willing to bet nothing will come of this? No Trump kids indicted, no obstruction?
I’m sure they could be pinged for something. It might even happen. The dude just has to pick up his game.

I'm seeing a lot of the same old lazy bothsiderist talking points." If you investigate long enough you can pin a crime on anyone in Washington because they're ALL corrupt." Explain then why Republicans seem so incompetent when it comes to Locking Her Up given that they spent four years on Benghazi and two years on Her Emails. No arrests, no indictments, bupkis, nada. It almost seems like pinning a crime on someone in Washington is actually a bit tricky. Or maybe deepstate2stronk. Whatever.

Or maybe, crazy thought here: Maybe the people getting fingered for crimes to the point that even jurists who admit publicly that they wanted to let them of the hook but couldn't due to the weight of the evidence are actually more crooked than the people who despite years of effort still haven't been locked up? Maybe the retarded attempts at bothsiderism that don't hold up to even a microsecond's scrutiny are just throwing your own credibility down the shitter?

Trump is good at one thing: saying and doing stupid but largely inconsequential shit that gets the attention of the media. He exploits this to make the media talk about random bullshit.
Apart from the lack of decorum, the whiteanting of bloated agencies, hurt liberal sensibilities and a general lack of PC, is the world truely a worse place for Trump? Compared say, to the Angela Merkel, Clinton, Obama legacies?
Just to start:
The Trump administration has hailed its overhaul of federal pollution restrictions on coal-burning power plants as creating new jobs, eliminating burdensome government regulations and ending what President Trump has long described as a “war on coal.”

The administration’s own analysis, however, revealed on Tuesday that the new rules could also lead to as many as 1,400 premature deaths annually by 2030 from an increase in the extremely fine particulate matter that is linked to heart and lung disease, up to 15,000 new cases of upper respiratory problems, a rise in bronchitis, and tens of thousands of missed school days.
Breathing more fine particulate to own the libs :bjarte:

There's more:
Trump's first legislative act as president was to do away with a bipartisan amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act, which required oil, gas, and mining companies to disclose their payments to foreign governments. During the Obama administration, the United States led the world in the creation of this sort of policy, inspiring parallel legislation in 30 countries, including Canada, Norway, and European Union nations. The law's aim was to provide transparency to areas such as transnational crime, terrorist financing, and "unhinged economic and environmental crime." Unsurprisingly, it's been opposed since its inception by oil giants like Chevron and then-Rex Tillerson-run ExxonMobil. (Indeed, Tillerson took his post as secretary of state mere days before Trump's decision to scrap the legislation.) In a move that's likely to shelter corporate malfeasance, the administration has whittled down the U.S.'s reputation as a global leader on extractive transparency.
Less control on crime, terrorism and environmental accidents to own the libs. :bjarte:
Rather than protecting U.S. citizens and their lands, many of the administration's policies have lined corporate pockets. Consider how, in November, the U.S. announced its intent to halt its participation in the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, an international measure aimed at providing citizens insight into their government's extractive management. By withdrawing, the president will encourage secrecy in oil, gas, and mining payments on American lands, making it difficult, and perhaps impossible, for Americans to understand what, if anything, they’re receiving in return for their precious natural resources—and the environmental degradation caused by that extraction.
Selling out US lands without any transparency to US citizens to own the libs.

More stuff:
The tax will raise input prices for American businesses, increasing their operational costs and putting pressure on profit margins. This is likely to feed through into weaker wage and employment growth, leading to poorer retail sales and declining economic growth. The Trump boom is already fading: this tax seems likely to hasten its end.

The tax will raise headline CPI inflation. How much inflation will rise depends on the extent to which producers are able and willing to absorb higher costs rather than passing them on to customers. The Fed might respond to rising cost-push inflation by increasing the pace of interest rate rises. This would dampen consumer demand at a time when it was already under pressure because of the wage and employment effects of the tax. Fed interest rate policy has previously accelerated consumer demand slumps, most recently in 2006-7, when the Fed continued to raise interest rates despite rising unemployment, falling house prices and weakening consumer demand. I suppose we might hope that the Fed would act more responsibly this time, but the “mood music” from the Fed these days is increasingly hawkish. I am therefore doubtful that this time would be different.
Starting a trade war and possibly wrecking the US economy to own the libs. :bjarte:

More:
President Trump killed a regulation that would have tightened gun background checks Tuesday, signing a bill to undo one of his predecessor's executive actions following the San Bernardino shootings in 2015.

The Obama administration rule required the Social Security Administration to submit records of mentally disabled people to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the FBI database used to determine whether someone can buy a firearm under the 1993 Brady Bill.

The rule would have applied to about 75,000 people who were “adjudicated as a mental defective" and who had applied for Social Security benefits, and had a mechanism to notify those affected so they could appeal. But congressional Republicans said the rule could ensnare people who had mental health issues but otherwise were competent to own a gun.

The Social Security Administration finalized the rule last Dec. 19. But under the Congressional Review Act, Congress has 60 legislative days to disapprove of any new regulation on straight majority votes. The vote was 57-43 in the Senate and 235-180 in the House.
Making sure that nutters have access to firearms to own the libs. :bjarte:

Still more:
Environmental Protection Agency officials are proposing to eliminate two programs focused on limiting children’s exposure to lead-based paint, which is known to cause damage to developing brains and nervous systems.

The proposed cuts, outlined in a 64-page budget memo revealed by The Washington Post on Friday, would roll back programs aimed at reducing lead risks by $16.61 million and more than 70 employees, in line with a broader project by the Trump administration to devolve responsibility for environmental and health protection to state and local governments.

Old housing stock is the biggest risk for lead exposure — and the EPA estimates that 38 million U.S. homes contain lead-based paint.

Environmental groups said the elimination of the two programs, which are focused on training workers in the safe removal of lead-based paint and public education about its risks, would make it harder for the EPA to address the environmental hazard.
Exposing kids to lead to own the libs. :bjarte:

Just for a start.

How about this for owning the libs:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/15/us/p ... -cuts.html
Instead of saving money for a rainy day, Trump has taken the strong economy that he inherited from Obama and instead of doing the fiscally responsible thing and at least reducing the deficit somewhat he and his repub pals have put a structural deficit in that will continue to grow and eat more and more revenue as time goes on and create a crisis when eventually the economy slows down and and tax income will be hard pressed to deal with.
Chances are, by that time the Dems will be back in power with a devastated economy which the Repubs will blame on them. The Koch brothers and others will sponsor a new tea party movement that will get mobs of lower and middle class stooges to protest in favor of cuts to their social security, pensions, medicare, and other filthy "entitlements".

There's still more. The man is a shambling mess of illegal and quasi-legal, unethical activity. He always has been. Any other president would have been hounded from office by now, but Trump is somehow made immune by his complete, brazen lack of shame or dignity.

There's a reason so many Republicans retired before the last midterms. That tax cut was sheer madness, and everybody knew it. As you say, Republicans are hoping to pin the blame on the Democrats, and with the IQ and attention of the average voter, they may well succeed. If the economy tanks while Trump is still in power, there's a good chance it will backfire.

I didn’t hit every single CFB link, but the other items were weighted to possible future consequences. Which may or may not happen. And deficit Inducing budgets are the norm. If it wasn’t tax cuts it would be social expenditure or neo-con foreign policy games.

Right now, are there material measurable (non anticipatory) impacts from the Trump presidency ?

Remember two years in, the President gets to own the economy be it good or bad. So what new wars, what new recessions, do we have?

An economy that is unsustainable, and a debt that will severely impact America's future? An erosion of presidential norms?

But we won't have to be anticipatory long. Judging from Trump's frantic tweets and Frank admission, the Mueller probe will be making some announcements soon.

You don't get a sub to the Amazon Washington Post? I thought you worked for them. They have a running list of more than 5000 Trump lies.
Other news outlets have also been reporting them, it's just that because they have been officially determined to be fake news no one listens.

Surprise. Trump isn't terribly concerned that a troublesome journalist from the Amazon Washington Post gets strangled. He probably has a list of journalists (aka enemies of the people) he would like to see strangled for spreading fake news and not praising the magnificent job that the best president ever is doing.

After her dad's rallies, one would think the Trump children would be cautious about emails. Apparently not.

The US have stood with Saudi Arabia for YEARS while Saudi Arabia committed war crimes, trained, financed and motivated terrorists, spread hateful messages, oppressed its own minorities, killed women for adultery and people for homosexuality or apostasy.

Trump is a hypocritical cunt for all his bluster and boasting about fighting islamic terrorism with "muslim bans" while he sides with one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, supporter of international islamic terrorist groups. A deeply weak and cowardly bully. But this is par on the course. The US are the Saudis' bitch, or better yet the whore of the corporate interests and lobbies which support the KSA.

Okay, yikes. This is becoming reminiscent of a banana republic.

The clown was being serious when he asked Russia for hacked docs and talked about jailing his political opponent during the campaign.

The crowds loved it.

Now this is some fine journalistic prose here:
The Turks caught the Saudis in an evil and inexcusable plot, one that (perhaps even worse) was executed with all the grace and competence of a team of howler monkeys on methamphetamines.

All mention of the caravan of evil seems to have dropped off the map. Funny thing is, the suckers don't seem to notice that they've been played.

This Thanksgiving, I'd like to give thanks for all the great posts I have made on the Trump Dump.
https://thehill.com/homenews/administra ... ce-in-this
President Trump said Thursday that he is thankful "for having a great family and for having made a tremendous difference in this country."

Trump made the comment when asked by reporters what he is grateful for on Thanksgiving shortly after holding a phone call with troops overseas.

“I’ve made a tremendous difference in the country,” Trump said. “This country’s so much stronger than it was when I took office and you wouldn’t believe it.”

“I mean you see it, but [it's] so much stronger that people can’t even believe it,” Trump said. “When I see foreign leaders, they say, ‘We cannot believe the difference in strength between the United States now and the United States two years ago.'”
I know I don't believe it.

Sure, there's bias in the press, but sometimes you wonder just what the fuck they're teaching in journalism classes.

It looks like they , and probably Corsi and Stone are counting on pardons.
If there is evidence of Trump giving them some assurance?
