Has Oolon been caught bullshitting again? I can't wait for the SJW's to call him out on it! Any minute now.

I have a solution.
The free drinks at conferences should be for men only.

As we know, Elevatorgate is using Storify "To collate public tweets. Particularly to collate evidence of wrong doings, for example, violent rhetoric."

EG goes on to say: "I collect tweets from a wide variety of people, including people who I follow, and follow me back on twitter. Funny conversations. Interesting conversations etc. There is no focused effort to “taunt” specific women. Some may appear in more stories than others, but that’s because they tweet a lot and are central figures in the communities they represent. They are publishing their views publicly. Just like any other medium, they can’t expect not to be commented on in a public space."

Obviously this has upset the SJWs very much, because collating (often without comment) public tweets from people is pretty much patriarchal misogynistic mind rape, or something. Aratina Cage has been having a chat with AmbrosiaX on Twitter today and Aratina accused EG of being a liar and a stalker. Ambrosia asked him to back up those claims with evidence. He could not. He then said this:
Isn't that just beautiful?

Here it is in context if you want to see the thread:

It is entirely real.
I was a fan of Pharyngula since even before it moved to scienceblogs and I remember being shocked by that post at the time.

Obviously PZ keeps quiet about it now - but at the time he was clearly promoting this type of fetish pornographic material as a positive thing.

And yes, the actual title, on the picture is "hentai tentacle rape"

I guess you could say each to his own, but it does seem wildly at variance with his current radfem leanings to be endorsing what is clearly rape porn - and many of the pictures are not simply drawings, but are women photographed in extremely degrading (to a feminist eye) positions.

And that's not even to mention the fact that the blog where he found this material hosts some of the dodgiest porn you'll find this side of oolons hard drive - probably the reason why it was closed down (you can still find some pages cached on the wayback machine, which is how I was able to retrieve that post.

When you meet someone saying PZ endorsed tentacle rape porn on his blog, it comes from the pit.
Well, you know what, he's right.

I'll quote the entire post from June 20th, where this shocking claim originated.

mmmmm...OKaaay...

So the kind of people who promote tentacle rape porn are criminally sexist.

Got it.

Finally we have a standard upon which we can base our determinations of who is sexist and who is not.

Thanks PZ, you've been a great help!

There, that should do it.

It does appear to be somewhat NSFW, doesn't it.

Hentai Tentacle Rape porn!

Promoted by PZ Myers!

Welcome to our side of things ThePrussian. You see, as it turns out that some FTB opinion leaders once were accused of rape (Jason Thibeault and PZ Myers have confessed it themselves), seem to like rapey stuff as seen here, and in fact have now found an excuse to immerse themselves completely in “Rape Culture”. But you know, the official version is of course completely inverted. Everything they are, and it's extreme in my book, gets turned around 180° and for a complete weird reason actually believed by quite a lot of people outside. I still don't know what to make of it and wonder if this is some sort of elaborated joke.

Way back in the upper Cretaceous period of all this nonsense a certain someone observed that sooner or later the baboons would overreach, a civil suit would be filed over something and then all sorts of amazing stuff would come to light.
When the light is finally shone into the darker corners of baboondom all sorts of scurrying will ensue.
I'm going to re-rant a favorite theme of mine regarding These Fucking Losersâ„¢.

The reason they haven't figured that out is because it hasn't occurred to them. They are completely divested from reality in a fundamental way: They've forgotten that they are dealing with actual real, live human beings that exist as meat in three-dimensional space. Seriously, I don't mean that as a metaphor. They are in the business of typing at things as if they are playing an old text-based MMORPG. They get to go on quests for social justice, kill trolls and cast their magic spells. You can even guess the characters they imagine themselves to be: P.Z. Myers, although some sort of half-dwarf fancies himself to be Peezus, wielder of the mighty ban hammer. Rebecca Watson, the blue-haired Elven Princess whose avatar is girlish, 15 years younger and 40 lbs lighter and Ophelia Benson, the wizened Magic user who rushes into rooms like Leroy Jenkins, casting spells wildly until cornered and forced to commit suicide so she can repeat the same dumb strategy after the re-spawn. And Jen McCreight, who left the game to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Oolon is slightly more advanced as he's a script kiddy doing the unfunny version of Ventrilo Harassment. And he knows exactly what he's doing, indicating he's not divested from real life, he has none to speak of.

They are suffering from the delusion that it's all just words, a game played on the internet with no real stakes.

Myers was able to pass along an anonymous, unsourced accusation against Michael Shermer, even though he's met the man, because once he sits down in front of his computer, it's all just a game. Words, battle tactics the reality of what he is doing has roughly the immediacy of smack-talk on Team-Speak.

Every one of those fuckers, from the leadership down to the most petty little minion is suffering from the same delusion. You think they rush through life with the same revolutionary fervor and reckless disregard for nicety? Fuck no. In real life which you can extrapolate from their Google Hangout discussions, they are all fat, confused, riding somewhere on the depression spectrum and generally meek and mild, well-behaved and terrified of confrontation. That's why they are doing it on the internet and can't see outside of maniacally typing at phantoms. It's how ol' Anthony K. convinced himself he was Brownian, epic rouge smart-ass.

A bunch of sad cases.

But now out comes the flood of accusation that are real, against real people, even if they deluded fucks making them and repeating them don't quite see it that way. Which means they are going to have to face consequences in the real world where they simply cannot operate.

That's where the end of all this bullshit comes. Not from talking sense to these irrational types. Not when the hypocrisy and contradictions becomes to great for even their level of crazy to manage, because that'll never happen.

No, it's the real world with real lawyers and real courts and oh-so real consequences, reality itself that drove them into the Atheism Plus virtual Jungles of Guyana that will do them on. And to grasp where they are headed you need a real-world example of how this operates.

They may destroy some people like Michael Shermer, but I very much doubt it. Then again, Jim Jones managed to kill Congressman Leo Ryan, and all that accomplished was hastening Jone's own self-inflicted bullet to the head.

Take note, P.Z. Myers.

Death threats are illegal? People go to jail for bullshitting on twitter? We should take all accusations seriously and act upon them immediately?

Good thing she has female privilege.
I have read some of Taslima's books and now her blog and twitter. Sadly, I have to conclude she is an idiot. There is apparently no other way to describe it. She has huge victim cred, but that does not change the fact that she is a blathering idiot.

Actually, going by her rants, and applying her "size-queen Nigerian men" logic, one can infer that many Indian men (like myself) marry white women because they find Muslim women, current or former, very stupid. And, as we all know, You Can't Fix Stupid.

Interesting.

I'd take issue with the bit where it's claimed that Grover Norquist and Richard Dawkins are natural antagonists.
If Dawkin's were to find a way to carpet bomb the next Southern Baptist Covention, Norquist would, at minimum, try and get him a tax deduction on the bombs (whilst trying hard not to look too pleased).

Dawkins has long been a vocal advocate of large, government-run social programs. Norquist's famous line was he wanted to shrink government until it was small enough to drown in the bathtub.

You're absolutely right. I'm merely pointing out that Norquist seems to tolerate the religious right in much the same way The Sisterhood of the Oppressed seems to tolerate Peezus. It's sort of a "useful idiot" kind of arrangement where the hand is on the trap-door lever, and periodically twitching.
In no way would I deny Norquist has been one big catastrophe for American society.

Great point Mykeru. I think that this dynamic helps to explain what happened with JT Eberhard; he saw one his SJW buddies acting the same way in real life as they do on the internet and was disgusted. As soon as he had seen the ugliness of the behavior he tried to provide a calm, rational response and then HE was treated the way that the A+ers treat others for the first time. It was ugly, ironic, and popcorn-worthy.

I have a solution.
The free drinks at conferences should be for men only.
Isn't it interesting that a community that so obsesses about "triggering" this and that abstract thing that might make someone feel bad, seem to have absolutely no interest in how they can and will --because this is a statistical certainty -- trigger the alcoholics and soon-to-be-alcoholics in their midst?

Here we are talking about the potential actual harm done to people, in the liver, in peace of mind, in bodacious better-have-morning-drink-to-forestall-withdrawal behavior that is the golden ticket to a detox ward if one is lucky.

For me, like a lot of other alkies, the end of drinking came when I no longer had the illusion of control. Sure, when I was a really good boy I could have a couple beers like a normal person in the same way you can play Russian Roulette and 5 out of six times you can expect not to blow your brains out. It's that also statistically inevitable "what the fuck was that" morning after that convinced me this wasn't for me. That and the fact I'm a complete fucking pansy when it comes to hangovers.

This is the most sick toxic culture for people in it who are alcoholics. It's not the access to alcohol. Anyone can handle that. I walk out the door and in five minutes I can have a drink in my hand. When I go to survival and primitive skills meets there's always someone who brings beer to share, or harder stuff. Some even brew and distill their own. The attitude is different. They offer, I say no thanks and life rolls right along.

The conference culture is different: They act like they are having Groundhog Day at those things where all the cool kids are doing it, and the lie is there is no consequences and no hangover because they treat these things like they exist outside of time. Until the next morning where people's heads hurt and they have vague memories of someone touching someone else, if only if it was someone holding back their hair to puke.

I know what you are saying: It's the responsibility of the alcoholic and proto-alcoholics to abstain, and you are exactly right. Problem is, it's often very difficult to get one to take responsibility for their own drinking. That's why there's cult bullshit like Alcoholic's Anonymous, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, even drugs like Antabuse and the Buster Keaton method of tying yourself to a chair until the DTS pass. Even so you are walking the tightrope of keeping yourself clean without harshing anyone else's buzz.

But part and parcel with their boozing culture is a culture of taking no fucking responsibility whatsoever.

Of course it's a disaster when you "perfect storm" socially inept and borderline stupid problem drinkers with a group that fundamentally believes everything is someone else's fault.

What a fucking nightmare. Personally, it's my vision of hell.

Yes. I was still reading there when it happened. It wasn't the first. It wasn't the only. But it's one of the easier ones to track down.

Yes, I remember he also linked fondly a picture of some "Muramasa" concept art where the main female protagonist, practically nude, was being grappled in the groin by an octopus.
I have no problems with this stuff at all. But then again, I'm not a rad-fem hypocrite.

The "Shermer got me drunk" meme is back and surprise, surprise, it's mentioned alongside a completely unrelated rape story.

I wonder if they'd blame the barman for getting them drunk if Shermer wasn't around?

Also for being "too drunk to remember" (which I believe she left out of her account to Myers) Rael seems to remember it quite well.

The new woman-as-victim stereotype is not only directly traceable to nineteenth century Victorian patriarchal attitudes reducing (bourgeois) women to inert ornaments, but by denying to women the creative power inherent in everyone, it places women’s demands on a par with those advanced for, say, baby seals.

Its classic ideological purity, and its rampant on the US left, and is starting to make inroads here too in the UK (the AV Referendum is a prime example)

Let's also remember that Greta Christina actually wrote and published her own rape porn fiction book this very year, and AFAIK have not received the single "OMG RAPE CULTURE!!!" comment from the FTB SJWs, and not a single negative peep from Myers or any of her other co-bloggers either (Actually, Myers give it a 5 star review on Amazon, his only complaint is the lack of tentacles...).

Personally, I couldn't care less about what kind of fetish porn get someone off*, but fuck if it'd be nice to see even a scrap of moral consistency from the FTB folks when it came to anything relating to sex... or anything else for that matter. Or well, I guess "It's ok when WE do it!" and "It [rape porn] is ok for women but not for men!" is technically consistent, but I hesitate to call that hypocritical and sexist drivel "morals".

Nah, I mean it. Not accusing him of rape mind, or even harassment, just that PZ is shouting loudly to avoid what he hears in his own mind.

For the A+ers reading this, making blanket statements about the police not caring about rape accusation just makes you look dishonest. Dozens of men have been convicted of rape only to be cleared later, others are STILL behind bars after it was clear they weren't guilty. That can't happen in a world where all the police just laugh off rape victims like you continually suggest.

*facepalm*
It is customary for the Aboves to buy drinks for the Belows. Even at professional science meetings, Big Names will buy dinner/drinks for Assistant/Associate profs, who will do the same for post-docs/grad students.

I have said this before, when I speak at conferences, my expenses are covered + get paid. So I buy a round for whoever Im talking with now and then. When I have gone as 'just' an attendee, other speakers have done the same.

Its a standard occurrence.

But thats the way these idiots roll, isnt it? Take a normal, standard, human interaction, and turn it into 'HE TOTALLY WAS GONNA RAEP MEH!!!'

"Would you like some coffee?"--> RAEP!
"You dropped the food tongs. Naughty girl."--> RAEP!!
"This rounds on me!"--> RAEP!!!
"Hello! How are you enjoying the conference?"-->RAEP!!!!

NO ONE WANTS TO FUCK YOU. NO ONE. NO ONE.
What does a girl have to do to get laid at these cons then?

But it seems like at least one can get her ass grabbed and her vajayjay fingered and all she has to do is mash her titties on the chest of some doodbro. The rest just can not get any action even when they get staggering drunk?

Why is that?

The point has been made elsewhere on the 'net that these people can't handle their goddamn liquor. The story about the woman who apparently remembers the Shermer wine glass incident entirely differently from how other people mention it, the video darkamatter2525 posted of atheists acting like drunk asses (it was funny, but the FTB crew could easily find "rape culture" or sexual harassment examples if they really examined it) and the numerous arguments that it's never the responsibility of a drinker to moderate drinking, it's the responsibility of everyone else to look out for her, make sure she doesn't sleep with anyone she'd later regret, be careful not to do anything that might look to HER (who is drunk btw) as the beginning of a victim rape narrative. Like the wine glass thing. Nothing happened and this woman still has a victim narrative. But of course men drink at these conferences too, and I haven't heard a SJW suggest that men aren't responsible for what they do while drunk.

Anyway, my conclusion is that atheists at conventions are little bitch children who can't handle themselves. And if the FTB feminists are right, atheist conferences are full of rape. So there are two good solutions which will fix this problem in the real world, and then we can all stop keyboard warrioring about it:

1) No alcohol at atheist conferences. The conference is not obligated to give you booze. If you want alcohol, you can go to a bar and get smashed after the conference or in between speakers. This first step will eliminate the conference's responsibility for your sexual well-being. It will be up to the police department, your friends and yourself to keep yourself safe. Your choice to go to a bar outside and get hammered will not be their problem.

2) Internet feminists, and women who listen to listen to them, should stop going to these conferences. I'm not saying stop pushing for more sexual harassment policies if you believe that will help. I'm saying, if you believe these FTBloggers, atheist conferences are full of rape, much more so than christian or other secular conferences. Because all these feminists have tales to tell of how they were raped or molested. And if you believe them, you shouldn't risk going to a place where you'll probably be molested. Not going will send a message, and it will also make all those patriarchal MRA rapists sad, because they won't have any feminists to rape. They'll have to go home and rape their tables and chairs.

These new rules will make atheist conferences much nicer for everyone. Feminists will still be able to complain about how much rape happens at atheist conferences, but they will not be contributing to future rapes by providing alcoholic feminists for the conference rape machine. They can sit at home on their keyboards and gradually write more and more harsh harassment rules (looking at a woman's chest is eye rape, you misogynist slut-shaming bastard!), until they feel safe at conferences again. Once alcohol is removed from the conferences, it will make the alcoholics in the movement realize how fucking boring it is to sit in a room and listen to someone lecture for an hour or two about atheism while sober.

Brian Fields seems like a reasonable fellow. As did most of the posters - but nutjob Janice has to barge in and make it all about herself - to the point of going into hysterics because some people actually tried to *help* her. OMG, such misogyny!
