Just a quick drop in and intro. I've long heard of the Slymepit but never ventured over (such horrible rumors about, oh my!) but decided to follow up on Mr. Stefanelli's general invite a few days back and have been lurking and reading to get a feel for the place.
I've gotta say I'm impressed. A bit rough around the edges, with a bit of an intellectual longshoreman's bar feel to the joint, but I find that - mixed with the apparent knives drawn unvarnished honesty - very refreshing, especially compared to the bullshit being passed of as 'skepticism' in way too much of the blogosphere these days.
Anyway - I don't have the time to post much and even just keeping up with the posts here is a bit of a stretch for me, but worth it for the entertaining commentary if nothing else. The thing that made me finally push the button and join the group was Mykeru's long post about his ex-wife which I just read.
Mykeru - I am a HUGE fan (albeit a quiet one) of your recent youtube video work. Really impressive stuff. That said, your post really elevated my (already high) opinion of you by several notches. Such honesty in a split relationship (been there, done that) is a rare bird indeed. Beautifully expressed.

I took that tweet of his to be a jealous attack on Abbie. She's more man than he'll ever be. She DOES do martial arts, and she DOES have (a very cute and cuddly looking) pit bull.
