Only 200? Interesting. I am under the impression that here in Canada a routine visit starts much higher. Also I learned first hand that the data privacy laws covers pets.

I brought a cat in to the vet once (I was sitting it while the owner was in hospital) and while they could confirm that they had treated the cat before, under the law, as I was not the owner, they were forbidden from disclosing and previous treatment(s).

That's good, Phil - and amazingly reasonable price by our standards over here. We took a cat for basically a new leg (it only had three to begin with) to 'Supervet' Noel Fitzpatrick earlier this year. It was a case of paying the price but not counting the cost.
