At any rate, my motive for posting favorable reviews of PZ and Becky was more to see if I could get a rise out of someone. Guess I blew my cover. :|This is true. I’m very open about it. I’m also not concerned about it. I’m not going to go to a school run by either the pharmaceutical companies or the food companies to learn about how eating grain is healthy. That's not a gun ...
I’m sure you know full well the Abos have always provided their rich, if modest, contribution to our tapestry. I’m not sure about the 1950s. Many would settle for a relatively homogeneous society that accepted no more than the 70K long term average in immigration. Of course averaging that out say 10 years in the past and 10 years in the future would mean zero influx.MarcusAu wrote: ↑I've been meaning to ask - so I might as well shoe-horn it in here. When everything is wound back to the 1950s (or whenever things were all tickety-boo) will the same patterns play out again? The lost whatcamacallit. Or will things just F-f-fade away?
Sonny comes across an Aboriginal woman, Noonar who has run away from her tribe and says they're "singing her back". As her tribe searches for her, she becomes more and more agitated. Noonar, is a very talented singer who wants to become a professional singer. Matt tries to help her by giving her clothes and accommodation, but her life and sleep are still disturbed. She gives in to the tribal elder when he wants to make an exchange for Sonny. He then relents when Matt negotiates with him about the benefits that each other can learn from one another.
Sonny and Skippy discover the hidden entrance to a remote valley thought to be uninhabited. There, Sonny makes friends with an old aboriginal, who lives alone. One day Sonny finds Tara weak, in a Semi Coma and that he has been visited by a "Death Spirit" and he is about to die. Matt locates Judd, the man whose life Tara saved, hoping he will bring in people from Tara's tribe who will have the ability to free Tara from death.
Thrown from her horse deep in the bush of Waratah National park, Clancy is hopelessly lost, and her mother is due at Ranger Headquarters to see how Matt has been looking after her. A band of Aboriginal Nomads finds Clancy and brings her back to headquarters, just in time.

When the rain becomes too much, Matt demands that someone turn it off, and Johnny Bombada does so, successfully.

I have every sympathy for someone who has (or had - remission is possible) juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. But I don't think a meat-heavy diet has been her cure. I bet she's still taking her 'biologicals' (Remicade, Enbrel, Humira etc) and maybe some methotrexate and NSAIDs if her disease is still active by CRP or ESR (I'm old enough to prefer ESR and know that it is no longer used as it is a more expensive test although it is far better than CRP). Even if it seemed to be true for her, with an N=1 study, she ought not to generalise it into a panacea, especially for an entirely unrelated disease such as her father's depression. Regression to the IQ mean in action, I suppose.John D wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:44 amLink to Jordan's daughter's blog. Professional journalists don't just interview two of their friends/acquaintances, or if they do they don't promote it as "evidence".
This is a commentary, and it's exactly how I "framed" it. As Southern himself writes, the point of the video is that the existence of the people she filmed in France means that France will not be France for long.*For those who are confused by the point of this video, the point is that France is changing forever due to mass immigration. The people in this video were not speaking French, the women were not wearing their hair in French Braids, they had their head scarves on. When I was driving from the airport I saw people being fed from volunteer aid vans in the Syrian zones and coming up to your cars with signs in Arabic. The posters on the walls and the protesters yelled refugees welcome. Much of what you are looking at is not legal or proper migration and assimilation. France will not be France for long.*

Yes, indeed. This video is also pretty suspicious. We don't know how it was filmed, how it was edited, how the footage was selected, and the conclusion it implies ("rape culture is 100% real, men are pigs!") is rather questionable. If someone was using this video and a couple of interviews of some women's "lived experiences" to build their case we'd be justified in being skeptical. If someone was proposing some laws based on this video we'd be calling them out for answering to emotional manipulation with a call for policies, and we'd be analyzing those policies to point out the issues they might cause.Keating wrote: ↑Kirbmarc wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:59 pmImagine if a SJW made a video about walking around as a non-white person in a white-majority American town, singling out everyone who seems to look at her, or to avoid looking at her, and added in the blurb of the video a commentary about how the point of the video is to document racist microaggressions, and about how America is a white supremacist country at its core and white Americans cannot give up their supremacy and racism.

I don't think that the SJW was racist. However it's possible that a non-race factor skewed the results of the video. Catcalling is more common in poor areas where there aren't lots of people who will publicly shame you for doing it, or overzealous police officers or private guards who might stop you for "breaking the peace" or for harassing a potential customer (which is bad for business). It's more likely to be catcalled in South Bronx than in Lower Manhattan. In New York those poor areas with less police and private enforcement presence tend to be majority POCs, so you get more POCs catcalling the woman in the video.Keating wrote: ↑ Sure, but I’d also point out that the narrative was still that the SJW was racists because majority POCs catcalled her, and that clearly can’t be down to cultural differences between groups, and thus was a deliberate racist decision on the part of the producer.
It’s the culture of white bashing that is doing more to lay pipes than Lauren Southern ever could.
