Maybe somebody with more patients can explain this to you... there are two main kinds of franchise, a limited franchise and what Americans sometimes call a turnkey. They are very different. Tandy was the former and owned the properties which they sold off in 1999 and 2017. Now they sell turnkey franchises. The only similarity between the two business models is the distribution part.

I seriously doubt that General Wireless was a victim of crony capitalism, unless you count the property crash. You are conflating two different issues and I haven't claimed all American capitalism is crony capitalism because that would be stupid.

I need to add a comment here. I have been finding the Wall Street Journal to be spot on lately. The down side is that they only let you open a few articles a month without paying. But, their reporting is way better than most papers, especially the New York Times or Wapo. I was really disappointed when the WSJ slammed Pewdepie... not that I am a fan of his or anything.... but I was disappointed that the WSJ did a hit piece on him. They seem to have improved since then however, so I am giving them a second chance.

For example... here is how they are handling the James Damore vs. Google class action lawsuit.

I don't know how much of this I agree with. I do agree with much of it. I agree that it doesn't talk about all taxes... but it is supposed to be about the Federal debt. I am not sure what I think about his idea that raising tax rates don't change tax collections. I am pretty skeptical of that and would like to further understand this.

Perhaps I made a mistake when I just posted the one snapshot and the video without saying something like "Hey guys this is interesting. What do you think?" I'm not going to argue that Putin's hands are completely bloodless. I AM going to argue that Putin is not the only person who kills journlists in Russia and other parts of the former Soviet Union. I am also going to argue that the Freedom of Conscience in current Russia is only 'limited' in respect to parts of the Gorbachev and Yeltsin eras and Yeltsin nearly brought down the country again with his incompetence and corruption. When looked at in terms of historical Russian rulers (Commie or not) Putin seems very liberal and has very little blood on his hands. But some people in the US just can't accept that this guy is not a Hitler, not a Kim, not a Stalin (arguably better than pretty much all of the Tsars) but somebody who we can actually work with. Lastly, the same people who insist that even giving Free ID's to US citizens in need of them is somehow "voter suppression" and there is no evidence of fraud whatsoever ever ever in any important election in machine-run cities with large illegal immigrant populations and large fleets of buses and voting machines that don't even give printed receipts (Hi Baltimore!) are also often the same people who claim "RUSSIA HAXORED TEH ELECTION" and presumably changed hundreds of thousands or millions of votes over the internet, even though absolutely no evidence of this has turned up. It is to laugh.
