Peterson, for all his flaws, is very charismatic, and his writing is intriguing. Peezus is a boring one-trick pony who has less charisma than a cantaloupe. His writing has also gotten worse. Some of his old posts weren't as bad, especially those about scientific topics, but today he's all about rage-blogging and virtue-signalling. Jung only works for me so long as its not reified.

I saw JBP recently interviewed by a self-proclaimed Jungian, and he was visibly uncomfortable with her trying to cast everything in Jungian terms. But true to form, he engaged with her sincerity, was polite, and warmly told her it had been a pleasure.

My wife and I were watching a Peterson video while doing a decorating project. She says: "This guy sounds just like you, except that well..." and I say: "Yea, he sounds like me except that he is a fucking genius.... haha."

I say, each to there own. I have always had this attraction toward grand ideas about honor and duty and honesty. I am kind of like a conservative hippy, if that makes any sense. Peterson is a bit like a minister for me. A really talented minister. When I was about 10 yo we went to a Presbyterian church that had a Eastern European minister. He had this really great accent and when he talked about the Bible he was so detailed and rich. Really great. I enjoyed going to church to see this guy even though I was not a real believer.

Somehow Peterson helps me. I was talking to my therapist yesterday and said "I think it is a good goal to try to carry the heaviest burden you can manage." I obviously stole this from Peterson... but.... somehow this shit makes me feel a bit inspired. It helps me get out of bed. Seriously.

They perceive rightly that the US and the west in general is tired of pouring blood and treasure into the middle east and they want make the whole matter as messy as possible to encourage their exit.

Who knows at this point? The US has done some "interesting" things, so you say to yourself, "OK it looks crazy but it probably makes sense because they have a plan", then it gets even crazier till you have to conclude that they appear to be crazy because ...

I'm no expert, but I'd assume a Balkanization of sorts will occur. A bit like white flight in the cities but on a national level, with continuing cries of racism while the taxpaying class balk at further subsidizing the mess they fled from. Detroitistan.
