In my mind it's keep your knees together and put your dick back in your pants.
Nah they're thinking, as usual, with their wallets, if they were thinking with their dicks they'd make birth control and abortions mandatory for women who didn't have a government approved breeding licence as well as allowing men to sue such women for damages for psychological trauma.

In case any of that gets memory holed: https://web.archive.org/web/20130908101 ... nt-page-2/
Funny to see Oggie himself repeating 'Slymepit memes' here.

It is hardly untenable to point out that an adult is not responsible for actions taken at 12.
But you are still supporting someone who abused children without being forced to do so.
This is a special community, and you’re a part of it.
Which is how I am able to damage the community.
You have as much right to a safe space as any other victim of rape.
But as a rapist, I don’t.
sometimes there’s such a very fine, fine line between victimizing others and being a victim of others.
Which is a line that I crossed.
Anything you did or may have done under coercion from your abuser is not your fault.
But I was not coerced. I knew it was wrong and still did it.
You are not the single person who was so advanced and mature as a 12 year old that you did know better than every other 12 year old in the world.
I knew it was wrong and did it anyway though.
You don’t frighten me.
I frighten me.
There's still more drama, faux outrage and hugging in a Thunderdome thread of 11 September 2013, where Peezus bans and devowels a commenter called stephen who dared to attack Oggie by suggesting that his 'recovered memories' may be suspect.

Oggie even has the temerity to accuse stephen of rape apologia for doubting his word.

No, Oggie, this is rape apologia [one of several examples]:

I am supporting a victim of rape. Full stop.
But as a rapist, I don’t.
Fuck that. Any victim deserves to have a space to heal. Any one who was hurt as bad as you deserves support to fix that damage.

On top of that, you were twelve. Ogvorbis, you were twelve. You don’t deserve to be held responsible for mistakes you made at twelve years old.
https://web.archive.org/web/20130908101 ... nt-page-2/

Why do you never call your defenders 'rape apologists'?

Strangely, on the Thunderdome thread of 11 September Oggie seems to have forgotten that he had already admitted on 6 September that he is a rapist who wasn't coerced and knew that what he did was wrong. The spin is somehow different here:
Ogvorbis wrote:And I remember what I did later. What I did once. The time that I stared into an abyss and made a very uninformed decision that, since I had done what he trained me to do I was now a man and never had to do it again. I made the right decision but for a very wrong reason. But I backed away.
Here he seems to suggest that he thought that what he was doing was normal behaviour to become a man. As if he didn't know it was wrong.

The guy is a pathological liar, and that's being charitable.

Phil, you look ... interesting. May you recover soon. And for fuck's sake, stay away from thunderstorms.

Not that the 2nd part is in their purview. Also YMMV. :D

And high five on the decision your household made re Swedish vs UW for the coming year. Not that I'm biased or anything ;)
To be honest, there wasn't much of a "choice". My husband and I will always lean toward those entities that are always striving to learn more. Swedish has never struck me as that sort of entity. As far as SCOTUS and their "choice", it really wasn't one, was it? I mean, they are considered "people" under the law (and as far as I can tell solely for the purpose of being able to bring criminal charges against them). So SCOTUS just extended what should be considered for ACTUAL human people. (in short, I think it's fucking ridiculous and we should simply have a law or laws in place that holds such entities legally responsible for stupid-assed shit).

Nah but seriously, I had to take some lit courses. I had this one professor I really liked (5-foot straight-talking serious literary scholar from the Bronx) and I took her course on Tolkien.

I came away from the class with an overall positive experience, but some of the students were SJWs and the discussion on Tolkien and gender got seriously derailed in retarded ways when they started sperging about "Tolkien and men like him are the reason we live in a rape culture" and "Men like Tolkien are why I live in fear and have to carry mace everywhere."

No joke.
Who had the biggest bruise from the headdesk, you or the prof?
At times, I think the professor.

She was trying to be nice, but shit. She was one of those old-school feminists and the very definition of a "strong, independent woman", and I know she didn't think Tolkien was responsible for rape.

Problem is, that's just the culture of my old university. How many times I've heard students lament the hyper-insane SJWs at that college (students and teachers,) but then they go "oh well, you have to expect it, that's just our college culture."

One of the strangest things I've learned today about this SCOTUS case is that Scalia (of all people!!!) warned of this very thing 25 years ago in the Employment Division v. Smith decision. That was the case about the American Indians in Oregon who were denied unemployment benefits after being fired from a rehab clinic for taking peyote for religious purposes. SCOTUS ruled against the poor guys, which caused enough public outrage to spur the drafting and passing of the RFRA.

There's a standard work-around: a form letter that explains that the person is being prescribed [name of medication] for [insert medical condition], and that she wasn't taking it for birth control, oh no no no of course not.

Catholic health care plans used to have no problem okaying coverage then - at least, that's how it worked in this liberal area of the US. The prescriber has to be able to back the claim up w/ chart notes in case he or she is asked to justify the request, but the medical condition can just be heavy or painful periods, doesn't have to be anything proven by biopsy/etc. (And I never was asked to provide chart notes in the multiple years over which I recall various patients saying they needed such a letter, including during the time I worked for a Catholic health care agency.)

I haven't had a request for a letter like this in more than a year, probably because of the ACA, but given this recent decision it will probably pop up again as a work-around.

To clarify: much as I despise Scalia on a personal level,* I don't take his Smith decision as evidence of hypocrisy on his part. The RFRA wasn't law yet, and I get the impression from Smith that Scalia might actually be firmly against the RFRA, even though he's a Catholic nutjob. In any case, I see no inconsistency between the First-Amendment-based Smith decision and the RFRA-based Hobby Lobby decision.

Really? "Corporate personhood" is triggering? To whom?
FTFY didy,

Renee, as weird as this sounds: it's a choice to have sex. By SCOTUS (you said "POTUS" earlier, but yeah I knew better) saying that corporations should not be required to pay for Birth Control, whether they intended it or not, they are putting the responsibility in the hands of both members. While ideally it would have been better to require both female and male contraceptives under health care, the SCOTUS inverted it, and said "Corporations should not be required to pay for contraceptives."

It's a case of "squeaky wheel gets the grease" vs. "squeaky wheel gets replaced". The first time I heard of this was when Hobby Lobby was being "attacked" for not giving female employees BC. In seeking clarification on the law (was there any kind of law that actually said Corps were required to pay for Health Insurance in the first place? Obamacare was the government requiring citizens to pay for health insurance, near as I can tell) in which they were absolutely sure no one would go against the womynz, they actually made it worse. It's not "fair", but if people are going to fling shit, they should have thought about what they were going to smell like after handling the shit. :violin:

Bottom line for me: RFRA has to go, and contraception of all types should be affordable and easily obtained. If health insurance must be tied to employment (I don't see why it should be, but that's the way it is), then employers should not be able to choose what is and isn't covered.

As a side note, the people behind this, were saying men ought to be paying for birth control anyways because "the non-existent wage gap" is still greatly effecting your female fuckbuddies.

Check out this Hallmark TV movie pastiche Ograpist comment:
I also dreamt of scouts. Normally, when I dream, I am always me. I am almost always in my own body in dreams, never outside looking at me, except for the cub scout dreams. Those dreams I have always been outside of myself but still feeling the pain (and, yes, pleasure (shudder)) of the abuse. This time I was in me, I was in my body, and a man, a man with a beard, a tall and heavy man, showed up while I was being abused. And in a detached part of my mind, I wondered, oh, shit, is this yet another rapist I didn’t remember?

He took me by the hand, and took T and S and S by the hand, and led us out of the trailer, out of the tent, out of the campsite, out of the community center, out of all the different places I was raped, and walked us away from our abuser. I woke in a cold sweat with my mind running away on twelve different what-if paths. I didn’t remember ever seeing this man before. Ever.

Eventually, I went back to sleep. I woke up, headed for the bathroom, and dropped my toothbrush into the sink. There, in the mirror, was the stranger who helped us walk away. (It really did shock me even though this sounds like a plot twist in a b-movie.)

So my today self showed up in a dream about my past self as a non-me character to lead me away from my past. What the fuck? This is like the dreams where I, as a child, took the hands of others and walked them away.

I wish I knew what my mind was trying to tell me. Or that my mind would stop sending me messages that are so damn allegorical.

Anyway, feeling better today.
Yeah, Oggie, it does sound like a B-movie (in this case 'B' is for 'Bullshit').

Rest rooms, lockers, & changing rooms have always been segregated by sex. Men's = anatomical male; Women's = anatomical female.
it's fair to ask why we segregated them in the first place. If a valid purpose still exists, then to ask whether allowing anatomical men to use The Ladies' and vice versa defeats that purpose.

The SJWs redefining of sex to mean nothing more or less than 'what you call yourself', does not make all the previous justifications for segregated facilities go 'poof".
To shake a spear or to vere off into uncharted territory – so to speak – “there’s the rub”.

I know we all had great sport with HJ, and I largely think he’s out to lunch, but I also think he might have a bit of a point: “sex” is somewhat of a social construct. Seems to me that there are the twin peaks where there’s a strong correlation between, say, genitalia and karyotype, but there are, as we’ve discussed, a number of exceptions to the rules by which the terms are defined. Now we can simply define them so that there are only two sexes, and the exceptions are just that. Or we can concede that there are more than two even if the populations in the non-standard ones are rather small. But that still seems to be rather arbitrary, maybe even a case of agreeing on a social construct.

For instance, and I think the FTB commenter Tom Foss had a post on this, there are people who are X-Y but still have female primary and secondary sexual attributes - androgen insensitive, I think. So, male, female, and some third sex? Or two and and some exceptions?

Although I think it is somewhat of the proverbial tempest in a teapot ....
As with so many other things, it depends on how you define the terms, in this case "male" and "female" and whatever term(s) you want to use for people who don't fall clearly into 1 of those 2 categories.

Biologically, it would make some sense to reserve "male" for "those with small gametes who can reproduce", and "female" for "those with large gametes who can reproduce", but that doesn't work - and is unnecessarily limiting IMO - for social situations.

First: Phenotype of the external genitalia, as assessed usually on a quick glance, is used by others to assign sex at birth. The genitalia usually match the chromosomal sex, but not always (as is sometimes found out years later, around or after puberty). The categories are "male", "female", or "intersex" (the latter term being the modern one for a baby whose genitalia don't appear to clearly fall into one category or the other). "Intersex" is due to some sort of congenital (genetic or environmental) anomaly - a situation in which the "right" development didn't occur, though the reason may not be identifiable.

Later: Secondary sex characteristics + personal choice in "presentation" (hair length/style, clothing, etc) are used by others to decide at a glance what gender the person is. That's what's used to determine which gender's bathroom you can walk into without other people thinking, and reacting as if, you're in the wrong bathroom. There are definitely some people who can "pass" as the other gender without taking hormones or having surgery.

I have only rarely gone into men's bathrooms, but women's bathrooms (in the US) always have individual stalls, so however a person is positioned in order to urinate is pretty much her (or his) own business. (I suppose if someone's feet were observed to be facing the toilet while pee-hitting-water sounds occurred, other people in the women's bathroom might get concerned that the person was actually a man.)

It may be more difficult in a men's bathroom for someone whose urethral meatus doesn't exit at the tip of a cylindrical phallus of at least a few cm length to pass as male - I'm under the impression that stalls in men's rooms often don't have doors on them, though perhaps that's a sampling error. Even if so, maybe the absence of such a phallus could be hidden if one wears a long top (shirt or jacket?) and sits to pee on the toilet, pretending to be constipated & hoping to have some luck in that area while on the pot, & skillfully hiding one's aphallic state from the other gents.

Actually Phil, that brace is much cooler looking than the white plastic one you would've gotten in the states. Also you have universal healthcare, although in America it would be assumed that you would sue anyone associated with that trampoline, so there's that.

Forgot to add, androgynous-looking people can presumably go into any communal/public bathroom they choose, as long as their behavior once inside matches that expected of the gender bathroom they're in - standing to pee via phallus at a urinal, versus patiently waiting in line for a stall while complaining that there's no line for the men's room and there should be more stalls in the women's room.

Except... universal health care doesn't necessarily cover birth control. In Finland, birth control pills are only covered if they are prescribed for medical treatment. In Sweden, IIRC birth control is subsidized for younger women and for people whose total prescription medication costs are above a certain limit per year, but not as a general rule.

Yeah I first saw her claim 50% ancestry over a year ago. Doesn't matter. Her peppering of her posts with Lakota words and phrases makes her a "hey look at me I'm so cultural" poseur. Despite her efforts to impress her fellow hipster douchebag pals with her multiculturalism, she reveals herself through her words and attitude to be just as lily-white-SJW as the rest of the Pharyngula echo chamber. She's guilty of the same cultural appropriation those bozos rail against. Hell, I'm a mix of Irish and German, but I wouldn't dream of getting drunk and gassing Jews. That would be pretentious cultural appropriation to the nth degree!

Personally, I didn't even notice the floral pattern, because I don't pay attention to things like that. It was pretty obvious that the subject of the photo was Phil in his beginnings of "The Man with the Iron Mask" costume, and not the white walls, the floral patterned chair he was sitting in, or the hospital gown.

I was going to crank out an attempt to make it, but I think it's going to take more time, I'll get back to you on the MwtIM "photoshop"; it'll probably be around the time you're out of it Phil.

Another day, another beyond parody example of SJWers SJWing.
There was a protest outside the Prison of Love party on Saturday at the Kink.com Armory, with about 150 protesters who—though mostly peaceful—pelted guards and early partygoers with fruits and vegetables around 10 p.m.
There was a time when I'd have assumed it was God Hates Fags type Christians, but as soon as I saw someone tweet about a violent protest spoiling the fun at this weekend's SF Pride, I knew it was going to be down to shit-stirring SJWs getting butthurt about something.

http://sfist.com/attachments/SFist_Jay/ ... test-3.jpg
Kink.com's statement says: "One of the [event security] guards was spit on, another was punched twice in the stomach. The guards did not retaliate in any way, but we were temporarily forced to shut the entrance to prevent those entering from being injured."

Police arrived and dispersed the crowd, but reportedly a handful of protesters continued to engage with partygoers and police officers. According to Kink, "At least one gay man leaving was assaulted about a block from the Armory, and had his phone smashed by protesters. Another man leaving the party reportedly had his collar bone broken."

People getting beat up by violent SJWs protesting "in the name of love."

Just goes to show that villains consider themselves heroes, as someone said earlier.
