No, I hadn't seen that skit before. Good stuff. I have only seen a few WKUK skits on the youtubes, and really need to download the entire series one day. Also, much love for Mitchell and Webb, along with Armstrong and Miller.
I'm a fan of Mitchell and Webb. Will check out Armstrong and Miller.

Check out WKUK "Line Leader."

I will be gone for a little while, but I will be watching and when I get back I will have the "sarcasm" to suit each of you.

You piss Godwin's Law into the wind just as you were willing a couple of days ago to piss the no doxxing rule into the wind.

The only thing you buggers revere is when you get the tar kicked out of you which I did with regard to getting on board with your "sarcasm".

Give me a few weeks of looking where your individual underbellies are weak and we will see how you whine about me to stop - but no you can't because you have no principles.

See you all anon.

No worries. You'd probably also enjoy this collection of indie punk/post punk also. There are some absolute classics on the album. In fact, I'm going to grab the vinyl and play it right now.

All you do is repost someone else's long post and then put a couple of inane lines at the end and pretend to yourself that you have made a contribution.

You have all the originality of a three day old corpse and your style of writing suggests that you would be perfectly willing to crawl up that aforementioned cadaver's ass.

Buncha stuff. Can't remember it all; others here will be better at listing the high-points. But PZ's star seems to be fading, including (just last night) that Bill Nye was speaking in Morris MN and there's no indication that he acknowledged PZM's presence at all, nor that PZM was involved in any way other than a member of the audience for BN's talk.

Of significant note, the scales have fallen from Michael Nugent's eyes & he has been holding feet to the fire; worth a look at least at some of the methodical thorough posts he has put up over the past month addressing smears of Dawkins & of himself by Adam Lee, OB, and PZM. Here they are in reverse chronologic order; at least hover over them & look at the titles:

Many thanks. I don't know how you can process the same stuff day in an out. I tuned out and away from the atheist spheres and tuned into the gamergate movement only to find the identical rhetoric being levelled at gamers from leftists/feminist/SJWs.

They wrecked the game for me when they took away my rocket jump to later bring it back on that disgusting dreadnaught offshoot. Every time I pick up that game I get saddened by what it once was, and what they changed it to. A time before leveled areas, when you could go anywhere and not need to worry about things soaking up more bullets per kill simply because they were a different colored name.

In short: fuck that game.

Interesting, what is his reasoning? It seems like the only people who are against it are sideliners who have bought the establishment game media message that it is harassment group which is slightly less pleasant than ISIS (no seriously, a journalist actually said they have more respect for ISIS than gamer-gate supporters), and the establishment media SJW types themselves.

Everyone else has totally had it with their bullshit.

Media has called the GamerGate phenomenon "trolling". SJWs are playing the victim card. Most people already think that people who identify as gamers are frustrated, socially maladjusted, troubled loners who are likely to harass people outside of their clique.

The SJWs who appear in mainstream media aren't the batshit crazy, barely functional crowd we deal with on a regular basis. They look calm, collected, polite and well spoken. When people in the media want to support SJW ideas, they interview Sarkeesian, who looks and talks like a normal human being, not a screaming hysteric harpy like the Big Red or a babbling confused mess like Suey Park.

SJWs portray themselves as modern, educated, civil and reasonable. They claim to fight for gender equality, to like games but not too much (unlike those unhealthy, obsessive gamers) and to be targeted by an ignorant, backwards, angry and dangerous crowd.

It's no surprise that the general public sympathizes with them. Everyone who's been on the Internet has had to deal with trolls at least once, and for most people it's been an unpleasant experience. Most people have a life and therefore only play video games in their spare time. They can identify with Sarkeesian, at least to an extent. They don't want to identify with the stereotype of the GamerGate crowd.

Sarkeesian is good at manipulating people, so she understands how to get people on her side. She's far better at it than PZ "tentacle porn" Myers or Rebecca "Another Beer, please" Watson.

Idiot of the week: Malia Bouattia, Black Students officer of the British National Union of Students. According to her, a motion that condemns ISIS is "Islamophobic" and a "justification for an American attack".

You will have to carry this on to the next thread because Godwin's Law has been called.
You go on ahead and start the new thread. I'll be along as soon as our fearless and fascist leader makes a new rule saying that Godwin means a new thread.

I didn't even know that this was a thing. :bjarte:

amazing song. Thank you so much for introducing this to me.

FUCK YES.

Any fans of the "Blood Stains Across..." series, or the No Thanks! compilation should check this out.

Thanks man. Seriously.
No worries. You'd probably also enjoy this collection of indie punk/post punk also. There are some absolute classics on the album. In fact, I'm going to grab the vinyl and play it right now.
Amazing. I've been on a big NZ Punk/indie spree lately. The Clean, and all of Chris Knox bands/solo stuff (The Enemy (what little record exists), Toy Love, etc.)...

I'll probably order this on vinyl if it's still in stock. Fucking love the NZ first wave.

Kinda sad about Chris Knox :(

Can't say I agree with all he says but I can respect his opinion. It is clearly thought out and well reasoned. He is a clever man with some very interesting points of view. SJWs take note. That is how you need to come across

Oi. Kiwi, I already had that album from what.cd from a few months ago. Only 8 seeders, and I am one of them. Tried to download it again from myself, like a boss.

Doh!

Since Giant Bomb, the last gaming site I actually followed, now seemingly has jumped feet first in as anti-Gamer Gate via Patrick Klepek, I'm done. I'm out. Cancelled my subscription to the site, and from now on I'll be checking out the Playstation blog and the Xbox equivalent for new releases, and that'll have to be it.

For my fix of entertaining video game videos, I'll stick with Game Center CX. Japanese TV show of a guy who plays old video games, usually badly. If that's not bulletproof from bullshit politics, I'm getting off this planet.

Huffpost Live's Ricky Camellari interviews three pro-gamergate women. The part where he yells at them and almost has a meltdown is priceless, but they hug it out at the end.

Male feminists love telling women what they should think and what their groups are really about, and get angry when they disagree.

See also: PZ Myers, David Futrelle. Futrelle is especially toxic. He selects the most repulsive sexist and racist people on the Internet in his blog and then tries to smear anyone who disagrees with SJWs with the vague accusation of "creating the environment in which those assholes prosper".

i know, people drop that as if they've made a valid point. They haven't. It's just something that Godwin noted -- the longer the discussion, the greater the probability someone will make a Nazi reference. It says nothing about whether the reference was appropriate or not. The law in its entirety:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1
That's all. It's like saying, the older you get the probability of you dying approaches 1. That's true. The older you get, the greater your chances of dying. It doesn't mean all old people die at a time-certain. Or that the young can't die. But nature takes its course and, eventually, people break-down and die.

BlueShiftRhino wrote:Wasn't the Corsair actually a pretty bad plane, with no chance against a Zero one-on-one, and is only famous and/or loved because of the Baa Baa Black Sheep TV show?
No, actually it was faster and more maneuverable than the Grumman F6F Hellcat. The issue was with it's carrier-landing certification caused, in part, by Navy requested redesigns in upgrading the armaments.
Marine pilots quickly took to the new aircraft as its speed and power gave it a decisive advantage over the Japanese A6M Zero. Made famous by pilots such as Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington (VMF-214), the F4U soon began to rack up impressive kill numbers against the Japanese. The fighter was largely restricted to the Marines until September 1943, when the Navy began flying it in larger numbers. It was not until April 1944, that the F4U was fully certified for carrier operations. As Allied forces pushed through the Pacific the Corsair joined the Hellcat in protecting US ships from kamikaze attacks.

In addition to service as a fighter, the F4U saw extensive use as a fighter-bomber providing vital ground support to Allied troops. Capable of carrying bombs, rockets, and glide bombs, the Corsair earned the name "Whistling Death" from the Japanese due to sound it made when diving to attack ground targets. By the end of the war, Corsairs were credited with 2,140 Japanese aircraft against losses of 189 F4Us for an impressive kill ratio of 11:1. During the conflict F4Us flew 64,051 sorties of which only 15% were from carriers. The aircraft also saw service with other Allied air arms.
Anyway, the problem was the Navy put in some redesigns and it was difficult to land on carriers, slowing it's deployment as a carrier-based plane. However, it was such a good plan that it served in Korea as a fighter until the Chinese deployed the MiG-15. It still saw a lot of action in the Korean war as a ground-attack airplane until it was replaced by the Douglass A-1 Skyraider.

As for the Hellcat, it was a great plane, and when used to its strengths, was a formidable fighter. But this is what the Navy had to say about dog-fighting in the Hellcat:
“Do not dogfight with a Zero 52. Do not try to follow a loop or half-roll with a pull-through. When attacking, use your superior power and high speed performance to engage at the most favorable moment. To evade a Zero 52 on your tail, roll and dive away into a high speed turn.

The organisers of Glastonbury banned sales of Native American headdresses because of a petition that was signed by 65 people. Does anyone have any backbone anymore?

Can we ban Native Americans wearing feather headdresses? Birds grew those feathers. It's the worst kind of inter-species appropriation.

Ah.. yeah... you are correct. The Hellcat came out earlier. It was a smaller plane and had some trouble dogfighting the Zeros. This is the plane that had to use the dive to attack tactics. I recall that it was a bit unstable but had good power.

The Corsair basically just kicked ass. It had gobs of power, good stability, high durability, and plenty of weapons. My WWII aircraft memories are a bit rusty.

Considering how little the USA had in weapons at the start of WWII, by the end of the war we had the best of just about every weapon type made. If anyone enjoys this topic I strongly recommend "Arsenal of Democracy" by Baime. It is written in a very readable style and is not too long. I have a particular interest since I used to work for Ford.

BTW - all of these planes can be found at the National Airforce Museum in Dayton Ohio. Fantastic!

Hippy festival in the English countryside I would put the figure somewhere around 0%. In fact I would put the percentage who go or have ever gone to Glastonbury who are native americans to be very near the 0% mark.

Can we ban Non Scots wearing kilts. Not for any cultural appropriation simply because I am fed up of looking at your pasty, white, skinny, knobble kneed legs. You make my national dress look awful. Your legs should be pale blue, fat and hairy. Leave making our national dress look awful to the experts.
