There are people who DO say that, of course. Oh fuck! That is my best Xmas present this year! I am a bit of a Civil War buff (no... I do not dress up like a soldier in the Michigan 24th Volunteer Infantry... but I would like to if I had the time). That original poem is so touching it makes me cry every time I hear it. My family did Xmas yesterday since my oldest kid is going to spend Xams with her boyfriend's family. We got lots of new games and played a few together. Dixit is pretty good by the way. It is like Apples to Apples with artwork. We played Cards Against Humanity which is kind of funny. We had two really good laughs so it was worth it. My favorite combination was the name of a "superhero and sidekick"... Someone came up with "Satan" and "Firey Poop"... the clear winner. I tried some Advocatt which is Eggnog liqueur from Holland... yummy. I gave my wife a tablet and a new rechargeable vibrator. Even though she just had foot surgery we still squeezed in a quickie before getting up and opening presents. She is a good woman.

Snow is falling here in Detroit (we like to call it "The D" these days). Very pretty. Most people have their power back on after the big freezing rain storm.

Man, the looneys would shit their pants if this happened. They've made the mistake of alienating every conference one by one. They're boycotting TAM because JREF didn't kiss RW's ass. They're boycotting Dragon*Con because that conference had the gall to enforce its policies. Skepticon was the recent one, right? RW violated the conduct policy. Apparently Sesame Street has too many male monsters, so many they've had a masculinity crisis and the few female monsters are treated poorly. Alexandra from Skepchick's parenting blog Grounded Parents observes
