Anyone want to bet that Peezus will first offer a half assed "I'm sorry you're a rapist" sort of apology?

I didn’t ever have a sexual experience with another person that wasn’t being raped. (By the way, I’m bi. Sorry for coming out so late, but… it would have just been sort of awkward.)

That's it exactly. But the attitude that drunk women need to be protected from sex seems to be popping up more and more, even in the generally sane JREF forums:JackRayner wrote:Exactly what the world needs; a greater demand to continue infantilizing grown ass women.Cold wrote: TL;DR version:
If a woman decides she was raped, she was raped, and you raped her. Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks because it's her body and nobody gives a shit what you think.
I haven't in a while, but back when I used to listen to Dan Savage's podcast on the regular, this topic is something he used to bring up on a regular basis: People often drink so that they can gain the courage to do the things that they truly want to do, and that includes women wanting to let loose and jump in bed with the first attractive guy they run into...and that's okay.
:doh:But it is a function of being drunk. If she says no when she's not drunk, why should she have to be concerned about how she responds when her capacities become impaired? The big difference is in the size of the beer goggles, causing her to moan "Oh yes", rather than "get away from me you filthy privileged middle-aged white male!". Her actions. Influenced by the drink. Her responsibility once the "Oh yes" is out there.
Another good video on the subject:socialcuntism wrote:
Sex, Death And The Meaning Of Life Episode 1 Richard Dawkins (Subs)
Dawkins explains it in better detail here but the most accepted reason some need that developed along with consciousness. Our natural drive to discover, explore, examine, when something cant be explained with the tools we have at the time we associate to the invisible. earthquake god is mad, volcano, god is hungry, eclipse, god is fucking with us. we still have but now our tool is science
I think there is another additional reason. A lot of intelligent people outside of academia have a knack for cutting to the core of a problem, finding quick answers, which can often be quite ruthless. I am often told to stop over-thinking things and just get on with it -- it's a poor strategy but overconfidence and conformation bias are hard to overcome. There is also the matter of focus on what is important to them. I know a few quite intelligent people who are leaning towards UKIP because illegal immigration is effecting their business. It may sort out their business problems eventually, but they are completely blinkered to all the shit I know they would disagree with if they could even keep it in their peripheral vision.another lurker wrote:VickyCaramel wrote:
Somewhat tangentially related, I came across an article that was trying to answer this question: 'how can really smart people vote republican*' or somesuch:P Basically, the theory goes this way: that someone who is highly intelligent is used to being 'right' all of the time - so, when challenged on their beliefs, they will double down, instead of reconsidering their stance on certain issues :PI read today in the news that somebody did a study of studies and found that smart people are less likely to be religious. I don't think any of us are surprised... however I seem to remember that smart people are more likely to get sucked into cults -- probably because they can just as easily be fooled by trickery which relies on stuff like heuristics, but they *think* they are too smart to be fooled.

I bet my bottom dollar you did fuck all about it, you disgust me, you use this in an attempt to stain shermer, when the stain lays with you. Did you confront shermer about this insult to your honour, or did you mew sheepishly. Strange how it was conservative christians in 1983, and liberal atheists in 2013. I guess there's a lesson in there somewhere...
http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/f ... sevil.htmlKelly Michaels was charged with sexually abusing twenty children. Parents wearing “Believe the Children†buttons packed the courtroom for the trial. Journalists played the new daycare horror story for all it was worth. A jury convicted Michaels. She spent the next seven years of her life in prison.
The trouble was Kelly Michaels was 100% innocent.

Doesn't look like you used anti-aliasing on the head cutout, but I don't know if you even know about that so that is probably not a fair criticism. In case you don't know, anti-aliasing helps remove the "jaggies" from the edges of cutouts and blends those edges into the background to give a less cut and pasted look to a cutout. Are you using Paint.NET? If so there's an anti-aliasing addon I use that works great, I'll see if I can find the link.
