I realise this may sound like a generalising statement even though it's a genuine question, but ... are all MGTOW's this whiny?
I think it's built into the "pill".

The reality is that there's a problem with the entire memespace. It's based upon the notion that ALL women act/think in a certain fashion, which in reality is deeply sexist. Even though I think she's gone a bit off the deep end it seems, I can't blame WB but too much for getting really fucking pissed about the gaining traction of this memespace. It's the same reason that people get really fucking pissed at the gender feminists, who treat men the same way.

I understand the notion and I agree with the idea that there are some traditionally female cultural traits that are aggravating. But those traits are FAR from universal. I'm married to a women who hates those traits as well. I have female co-workers who hate those traits. It's NOT universal, and I think that's the point of contention here.
I think I see where you are coming from. I am the same way with the religious pretty much because I have been fortunate in not having been exposed to all the nut jobs many of you apparently have had to deal with your entire lives.

But I am sure if you are a man who has been repeatedly fucked over by women you might have a different point of view.
Or you'd be pissed off at the people who actually screwed you over, and not everyone that shared some random characteristic with them. If your ex screwed you over, be pissed at her. Some random other woman is not her, you don't get to be pissed at her too just because she also has a vagoo.

Well, you CAN be, but then you're a fucking idiot, and the only mistake your ex made was in not lip-swiping you as you lay there crying.
So, let me get this straight. All those MRA/MGTOWs/whiny fucks are angry about is their inability to chose a good partner?
Because, when you are "repeatedly" being fucked over by people usually the problem stems from a single source: yourself.

Why would you think it would stop? Seems to me that even if I put up a video of me driving a railroad spike into a cinder block, he'd just move the goalpost again, and it would keep going.
I'll stop when you admit that you're full of shit. I realise that this might shatter your extremely fragile, over-compensatory self image, but hey. That's whats so funny about it.
So you're still insisting that I put a regular-sized nail into a wall to hang a picture from with a screwdriver? Because that was the original statement before you pushed it to a 60p nail into six inches of hardwood by stages with no indication that you would ever let up on changing the parameters to more and more intense levels.
So that was how this whole bitch fight started?
I have used stiletto heels to hammer nails into this American flimsy walls. It is really not that difficult.
It started with guns.

Because who needs a gun when you can use a hammer or a shovel?

A friend of mine suspects that the Keystone Pipeline is really about water.

If they can transport oil...why not water, in the future?

And yeah, I agree with you. Especially with climate change, and the USA's inability to take 'no' for an answer I certainly see the same outcome.

C'mon, Rystefn, it's been 5 months. Surely you can lay your hands on something to record video onto? Even if your phone does limit you to 2 minute clips, that's more than enough time to record a video.

All this could have been avoided if you had agreed to simply knock small nails into soft wood with a screwdriver. Instead cunt got you to agree to something much more difficult. I think it's time to put up a video proving him wrong, or admit defeat.

So, I googled a bit about these MGTOW bitches and found the term "red pill story" (including Neo's mentions and all. What's funny is that they seemed to forget that Neo risked his life several times for Trinity -because of love and loyalty-). Read the lame story below and laugh:
Greetings gentlemen,

My name is Child_of_the_East and I would like to start off by saying I am very young and thus have very little life experience, especially with women. (I won’t state my real age because I prefer to keep that information private, but I’m very willing to bet that I’m probably one of, if not THE youngest, members here).

I guess some background information would be a good place to start my tale. I grew up in a very traditional Asian household where my dad was the leader and my mom was the follower. Growing up I had an old school, no nonsense education in masculinity from my father, who is one of the most hardworking and honest men I know of, and early red pills from my mom, who is the poster girl for tiger moms. (A tiger mom is the stereotypical Asian mother who pushes her children beyond their limits and then some only to turn right around and shame them for “bringing dishonor to the family and being a disgrace.”) Needless to say Mummy was a crazy b*tch. As far as women go my mother is a close to NAWALT as possible, and what I mean by that is that she still does the traditional housewife duties (cooking, cleaning, making sure I’m taken care of) but where the typical crazy female behavior comes in is how she takes to child rearing and discipline.

I see absolutely nothing wrong in punishing unruly behavior in a child… But there is something horribly wrong and abusive in forcing your child to eat his own vomit because he purposely threw up in order to not eat a meal he didn’t want to. Also pushing your child to ignore healthy activities like socializing and athletics in the misguided pursuit of “education” (why you no get an ‘A’? You shame your whole family!) to the point where he’s nearly full grown and still can’t talk like a normal human being is wrong.

But if my mother was a red pill my sister was a red pill overload. Forget NAWALT. Forget how bad female behavior is “socially conditioned”. Forget putting the pussy on the pedestal. My sister is the living embodiment of AWALT. If you know anything about my family by now you’d know that I grew up in a very traditional household where the daughters are closely watched over and guarded like their golden treasures from the temple of poon and woe-betide any thief who dares to try and steal the innocent virtue of the saintly maidens. All of my parents’ efforts went to waste. My sister turned out to be a lying, manipulative, lazy, promiscuous cunt who made my parents mad with grief. If any of you think I’m being harsh just try telling that to 15 year old me who walked in on his older sis being piled-drived by the high school quarter back. IN. MY. PARENTS’. BED. To this day I can’t think of my sister without a sickly feeling of revulsion followed by white-hot rage.

So far I’ve only mentioned my family (mainly because their my major source of red pill enlightenment) because my romantic interaction with Women are (thankfully) not existent. I’ve only had two short-term relationships and both of them were with crazy women. The first of which was a lovely girl a few years older than I who would use me like an emotional tampon and bitch about her EX’s and how all guys are evil. I was still a blue pill dipsh*t at that point so I just rolled with it. Well, after the umpteenth time of being a shoulder to cry on without getting laid I told her I was done. The second one was even worse, but strangely honest. She told me during the second date that she was only “trying me out at the time (I’m only settling for you because I can’t do any better right now) and that her parents encouraged her to ‘date’ (read: ride the cock carousel) and that she intended to follow their advice.” If there ever was a woman who was honest about her hypergamous nature, gf #2 came close. Needless to say our relationshit didn’t last much longer after that second date.

As I’ve mentioned before I’ve never had a enslavement “serious, long term relationship” so I’ve never been married. However I’ve learned plenty from my other family members. I have an uncle who recently married. He married a woman from the homeland (foreign bride). What did his lovely wife bring with her? An ex-husband who currently has custody of their daughter, an abortion, and a super-entitled hamster who demands the whole entire world just because she has a vagina. Needless to say my spineless uncle gives into every childish demands. After about a month of marriage she went from slim and trim to so fat I couldn’t hit that. My uncle has also gained weight and is greying at the temples despite being fresh out of his twenties. Makes you wanna find a snatch and put a ring on its finger don’t it?

Well, that’s all I can really think of at the moment. I hope this is an adequate introduction. I would just like to say that I’m probably going to post very little and lurk more often than not due to the fact that I’m not very eloquent or good at articulating my thoughts through the written word. I hope to learn a lot from you fine gentlemen and I hope you will find my company tolerable.

Thank You for the opportunity of joining the MGTOW ranks,
Child_of_the_East

Wait, what?

Is this happy horseshit all about Rystefn's claim that he can hammer in nails with a screwdriver? I mean, not carpet tacks but a real nail, like a 10d?

And we've been waiting around for several months for him to prove this?

But he's been having technical difficulties/no time/had to cum in every pair of sock he owns first?

That's it?

Rystefn loses.

Next, for fuck's sake already.

Lies, I tell you! Lies of the patriarchy. What we really do, is, we paint our menstrual-hut resort towns red by jogging, swimming and horseback riding.

Ugh, The Pit jinxed me this morning, or so I'd think if I believed stuff like that. You see, after all that talk about wishing for menopause, I went to the bathroom and... SURPRISE!!! My wished-for menopause is not here yet. :x
well it's a good thing that synchronised cycles between women is a fallacy, or else the pit might get a bit tetchy for a week every month.

Nah. This shit seems totally reasonable...
A man who seeks to be more Alpha, or a better Beta, is a man who defines himself through how women see him. Such a man can become suicidal when women reject him. Because of this external focus, such a man is not MGTOW – he seeks to become a compliant slave to women, and dies inside when he fails.

An MGCritter is a slavemaster who actively seeks to enforce women’s sexual and economic enslavement of men. As such they are complicit in the death/suicide of every man who falls in the line of duty to women.

Try being more specific. What part(s) are whiny?
Try the whole thing.

His comments about Wooly and TheCriticalG are whiny. His comments how it "threatens to fracture the MRM" are whiny. His comments about how strippers are relatively more pleasant to him compared to "nice girls" is whiny. THIS quote right here is whiny:
Many of the MGTOW have been through hell, and many have lost everything by associating with women. What critics of MGTOW (MGCritters, I call them) seem to fail to grasp is how badly those critics are hurting – hell, torturing – MGTOW by suggesting that we just jump back into relationships with, and thus, slavery to, the women who made our lives hell. There are still countries where women are forced to marry their rapists – that’s a pain the MGCritters might understand, because it is women who are being coerced, but because MGCritters refuse to allow men the space and time to process our anger, pain, and the resulting decisions about what we want in our lives, MGCritters think it is just fine to keep hitting us and hitting us with our own biological drives.
And it keeps going. He actually goes so far as to imply Rupert Murdoch's "media empire will be broken up" because he "dared to marry a broken woman."

It's just incredibly whiny. I mean, so what? He can do whatever he damn well pleases. But to bring up all those bullshit reasons, not to mention saying that women are "broken"? Then there's his conclusion:

"Marriage is for woman and idiots. Through bitter experience, some of the rest of us are going our own way."

In the words of Chlöe Grace Moretz, "Oh, take your tampon out."
Well I have to admit I still do not see it in the same light that you do. But thanks anyway for the perspective. I do appreciate your answer.

some guy wrote:PZ has an excellent post over on Panda's Thumb (and probably also at his FTB site) addressing an article in Christain News that was putting a creationist spin on an article published by real scientists.

It is PZ at his best: not only pointing out where the creationists were wrong and confused and lying, but at the same time explaining with a lot of detail about the interesting issue that the scientific study was addressing.

These types of posts by PZ were what initially drew me to his blog and kept me there. He dismantled the creationist arguments in a way that also educated the reader about some interesting topic of biology.

Well done PZ.

I'm skeptical of that. Much of the left-leaning American blogosphere not directly connected with skepticism or atheism accepts Watson's disingenuous narrative of harassment everywhere as an accurate description of the atheist community. FTB is a bunch of nobodies, but ask outsiders about sexism in atheism and you'll get Skepchick talking points word for word.

Watson apologists have been linked, favorably, by Paul Krugman; being in that position makes one about as main stream as anything is on the left side of the American political spectrum. Krugman wasn't endorsing Watson's narrative, but the fact that he reads people that do support it is damning evidence that Watson has supporters more consequential than just professors at backwater universities.

Don't forget that Watson was invited to peddle her disingenuous narrative on one of the major blog-mags (can't remember if it was Slate or Salon) and Marcotte has a substantial platform in her own right.

There's been a PR war and they've won, because they're the ones with PR training and the skills to prey on the social predilection to support a damsel in distress.

FWIW I’m not actually saying Elam is a sociopath. As I say, I know nothing about the man. My hunch is he’s a’ mooth and no troosers, as we say in my neck of the woods. However his writing on this topic – the indifference to suffering, the total absence of empathy for rape victims, the political program he champions on rape jury duty etc – can quite comfortably be described as sociopathic.

I'd be inclined to agree with this. Except for him calling Solanas a "great writer"; she was good, when she was functioning. The SCUM thing was not her best work.

Really, really bored with this hammering with a screwdriver discussion.
New topic! What do people think about the American Medical Association declaring obesity to be a disease?
McEwan at Shakesville declares it "eliminationist', so are we going to see US government fat camps? On the plus side, think of all the soap and lampshades they could make.

@codelette,
My take is that they are saying that there are no good partners. Which is probably true depending on what socioeconomic group you belong to.

There is one group as I recall where the odds are not against you and you stand a better chance of not getting fucked over. Not that I do not take your point. I know of a few people who wound up being divorced three times.

You could attribute that to the triumph of hope over experience, but I suspect that the lowest common denominator might be a better guess.

In any event as I have said before I doubt that MGTOW is going to get too much traction because to my mind biology will trump ideology every time.

@Mykeru,
Elam has said he wants to FTSU (fuck their shit up). I expect he is going to ratchet it up, not tone it down.

I thought covert menstruation was making sure that the pad isn't visible through one's pants!

well it's a good thing that synchronised cycles between women is a fallacy, or else the pit might get a bit tetchy for a week every month.
Seems that, according to the theory, some degree of close proximity is required; posting here is unlikely to cause menstrual synchronization, although it might cause you all to run amok and join the local chapter of Gender Traitors International.

But I find it is still an interesting theory, not least because some explanations are based on the “coupled oscillators” model, an interesting example of which is here. But I note this conclusion in the article, for one section anyway: “the controversy remains unresolved”.

@codelette,
My take is that they are saying that there are no good partners. Which is probably true depending on what socioeconomic group you belong to.

There is one group as I recall where the odds are not against you and you stand a better chance of not getting fucked over.]/b] Not that I do not take your point.

@Mykeru,
Elam has said he wants to FTSU (fuck their shit up). I expect he is going to ratchet it up, not tone it down.

Did you like Derek? I thought there was a good idea there, but it seemed rushed to me, and incredibly cliched, sickly sweet and self-indulgent. Like he just wanted to get his little pal Pilky on the telly some more (BTW, if you watch the extras on his older standup DVDs, it seems that Pilky is just the latest in a line of "Ricky's BFFs who he taunts and humiliates: where is Robin Ince these days?).

Left a brief, I-can't-be-bothered response to them:
I'm not part of any "backlash". I just find MGTOW who believe their own "Red Pill" hype and think they alone have access to revealed truth to be annoying. And as a member of the skeptical community first and foremost, I've seen this mindset a lot. I'm not saying MGTOW is a cult, just that you guys, as much as Freethought Blogs, tend to do what cults do. Fortunately, you're not really organized and coherent enough to reach that level.

Even more annoying are intellectually dishonest people who put words in my mouth, like the author of this piece. I was never quoted, but some very definite beliefs were attributed to me.

Now, I could give you reasons why I find MGTOW annoying, perhaps so much because of ideology but through tone-deaf evangelical approach. However, as the "you disagreed with me, so therefore you must believe this, and this, and this" game has already started, I don't see the point of talking to people who began the conversation by not listening.

But thanks for telling me what I think.

Also, as AVfM has become such an uneven playing field. I don't play where the fix is in, I will simply do a video explaining why I have cut all ties with AVfM, mostly because although I am more than comfortable with the goals of the Men's Rights Movement, I failed the purity test when the bait and switch was pulled and suddenly I had to be totally onboard with whiny anti-social MGTOWs gender separatists as well.

I would have been fine if it came down to Karen and John, who I agree with 99% of the time and respect enormously, and really, were the only reason I was associated with AVfM in the first place. Then again, they seem to have better social skills than Paul Elam and you lot.

Which, if you think about it, which you won't, goes a long way to explaining how you got where you are today.

It was fun while it lasted, but keep in mind: I didn't abandon AVfM.AVfM abandoned me.
But I'm a "McCritter", so what do I know?

The definition of a disease is certainly loose enough that they could weasel obesity in there. The typical reason for a well known condition or state to be labelled as a disease (or mental disorder etc) is simply so large pharma companies can build some hype and re-purpose some of their less popular drugs to handle this new 'disease'. I doubt anyone involved had much in mind in terms of raising awareness and actually combating obesity.

The social effect with these things normally runs along 3 lines (depending on who you talk to):
1. It becomes stigmatising, and obesity is seen as even more disgusting than it currently is
2. Obese people use the "It's a disease!" as a excuse to be lazy and apathetic about their condition
3. It raises awareness about how seriously obesity can affect health, motivating people to lose weight (now it's all official and scary sounding)

The AMA and APA are considered jokes by the rest of the world when it comes to labelling things. The only effect it'll have outside of the USA is we'll mock it in our newspapers for a while and then forget about it.

I don't know how the fuck you wear those things, I remember at eleven, (when I used pads for maybe three months until I said fuck this, and went directly to tampons), feeling like I was wearing a nappy, and they are known for flipping so the adhesive that is supposed to hold it in place on one's knickers, ends up stuck to one's hair, which obviously is a barrel of laughs when trying to disengage yourself from the pad. Fucking hell, isn't the bleeding itself bad enough?

Seems plausible to me – at least in its essence – as an example of an “other-directed” personality. For example, from the Wikipedia article on David Riesman’s The Lonely Crowd:
Riesman, et al. identify and analyze three main cultural types: tradition-directed, inner-directed, and other-directed.

This earliest social type was succeeded by people who were inner-directed. They discovered the potential within themselves to live and act not according to established norms, but based on what they discovered using their own inner gyroscope. Inner-directed people live as adults what they learned in childhood, and tend to be confident, sometimes rigid.

As Riesman wrote, "The other-directed person wants to be loved rather than esteemed", not necessarily to control others but to relate to them. Those who are other-directed need assurance that they are emotionally in tune with others.
The problem is, I think, when people take those tendencies and inflate them to ridiculous proportions. Either because they get carried away, or because they’re charlatans or demagogues

With the infrastructure of the US? We don't have the trains to support that, and I don't think we have the seats on busses for it either. No, no fat camps. Just the government funding a junk food black market, enough so we get people to grow into their homes (like those people on Springer etc - the ones who need a forklift and the fire department to get out of their home). Then they can just have local centers where people can siphon off fat like some colonial insect (or Alien?).

(Actually, does that sound familiar? Maybe it's just too much Warhammer40k and maybe Judge Dredd, but that idea sounds familiar...Torchwood, cannibals, motel hell, frak it.)

I'm not completely up to speed on the story, but I'm inclined to be in favor of it, especially given the prominent obesity problem in the U.S. While it is possible to be pretty healthy while obese, anyone who is would likely be even healthier if they lost weight (including myself!) I'm hoping classifying obesity as a disease will have two effects:

1) medical and financial aid for people looking to lose weight.
2) backlash against unscientific pseudo-diets and exercise programs that don't work.

Well, to be fair, from what I've seen of non-USA tv, the common idea of Americans seems to be obese people anyway, so I'm not sure of how much more mocking will go on, unless they go for the #2 point above for use in jokes or insults. Of course, I haven't seen as much foreign tv as I'd like, mostly BBC, so I may be completely wrong on that.

No, there is no controversy. See the article below (by Harriet Hall) for the explanation of how women may appear to synchronise:

http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/men ... -together/
Hall’s conclusion:
Hall wrote:Do women’s menstrual cycles tend to synchronize when they live together? As so often in medicine, science doesn’t provide a clear answer.
Doesn’t sound very conclusive to me. Although she also says:
Even if the phenomenon occurs, and even if human pheromones cause it, so what? It’s a matter of curiosity, not of clinical importance.
Not that it’s a big deal, only that if it exists then it is an interesting example of the marvels of the human body. Or animal ones for that matter.

My god man. Can you two just get a room. The sexual tension between you and Rystefn is blatantly obvious to everyone else here.
You do know that just because some people are posting boring shit here it doesn't actually stop you from posting your funny and enlightening opinions on whatever the fuck you want. Just a reminder.

The floor is yours.
...because there's two whiny little bitches filling up the bed.
You had to skip over a few posts before posting your incredibly biting satire. Woe is you. PZ Myers is fat and dumb and a huge cunt. Normal service resumes.
My line was fucking hilarious. And was it really "satire"?

Anyway, you're a bit touchy today, cunt. I laugh at a lot of your material, but when you get on the booze you're a tedious, whiny little gobshite who should put the bottle and the keyboard down, and go and join his wife and kids in the front room.

You're no Parsehole, that's for sure.

No Gareth.

hahaha! I was thinking Derek talking to Dougie when he's trying to pay attention to the road.
Pilky has been Gervais' subject of taunting, long before he did standup, or even became famous.

I liked some of the Derek episodes.
True dat, I'd forgotten XFM. I just feel a bit sorry for Robin, and hope that his old mate is still winding sellotape around his head, just not on camera any more.

The finale of the final Derek was touching, but it was like being in a sandess trance. Suddenly I snapped to awareness and thought "Coldplay? A funeral? He offers a chance of redemption and reconcilliation to the dad? Fuck me, H2O, these are Barbara Cartland levels of cliche and easy emotional teasing".

Ugh, The Pit jinxed me this morning, or so I'd think if I believed stuff like that. You see, after all that talk about wishing for menopause, I went to the bathroom and... SURPRISE!!! My wished-for menopause is not here yet. :x
Would a theme song for your stubbornly persistent menses help?

And so it begins. Let's give children poorly researched drugs that primarily act on the brain. The article mentions the new drug Belviq (aka lorcaserin) a 5-HT (serotonin for the plebs) receptor agonist and mild hallucinogen (plus it's addictive). Best over-prescribe it to children like they did with Ritalin and Adderall. Watch mental health plummet in-sync with weight loss.
