'Breathing' is what happens when the air pressure outside the building drops faster than than the interior can adjust to. In this case, the windows are pushed outwards. If the pressure oscillates - common in high gusts - the windows will appear to breath in and out.

I experienced a very graphic and frightening example of the phenomena a couple of decades ago during a hurricane. Near the peak of the storm, the walls and ceiling of the building me and 5 other guys were in started breathing, especially the open raftered roof. We were watching the whole structure flex in the wind when, during an especially brutal gust the roof breathed upwards and kept right on going! One moment sheltered, next moment wind and rain inside the building! Pretty sobering experience, that.

Never saw the roof again.

Glad everything is ok. I own a house in Lawton - which I'm renting at the moment - and hold my breath every time I hear about tornadoes in OK. But my concern is purely material, which obviously pales in comparison to what you're going through.

Don’t see that she is doing any “femsplaining”; she did say “that is up to them and no one else”. Although I can see providing a lot more information to both sexes as to what is really entailed even if that might cause a precipitous decline in the birth rate. But, personally, I think marriage should be put on more of a contractual basis – who does what for whom and how often – as the current structure seems open to abuse and feelings of being hard-done-by. Might forestall some of those bitter divorces ….
