Tabby, I just read Heath’s rantings in the thread you cited, and it reinforces my suspicion that he’s going through some kind of personal crisis that’s compromising his ability to think and interact rationally. That happened to me today. I was 'debating' an idiot on yahoo comments (it's great entertainment, and more fulfilling than FTB these days) and I made the mistake of referring to her as a 'twit'. From then on, she kept dismissing everything I said, b/c I called her a twit. Every thing she typed was a variation of 'you called me a twit thus all of your arguments are invalid.'

I think I am going to use that tactic, and the 'mental problems' one on yahoo just to be difficult for now on. It might even be fun to go over to FTB, all incognito, and accuse people of attacks when no such thing has occurred.

Just got back from the doctor's office. Turns out I've got a rather nasty case of diabetes to add to my collection.

That sucks hon. Hopefully some dietary changes can help. I have a friend that had type 2 diabetes. She went on the South Beach diet just to lose weight. The south beach diet is a low to moderate carb diet but it's not as extreme as Atkins or Paleo. In fact, there's a vegetarian version of the diet. Anyway, she lost 65 pounds, improved her cholosterol and got off her diabetes medication. Thats what worked for her and she found the diet very easy to follow after the first two weeks (first 2 weeks are strict). You can have grains, fruit ,veggies and even treats sometimes. Of course everyone is different so I would talk to your doctor to see which diet she/he reccomends trying. Sometimes insurance will even pay for a dietician. I knew someone who was on Medicare or Medicaid (can't remember which) and they were even approved to see a dietician!

Another piece of advice: get yourself fitted for a few pairs of pressure stockings and wear them religiously. If you don't know why, Google "diabetic foot ulcer".

I have a question about the third paragraph. Is it just me or does it sound like he doesn't want men to be able to defend themselves from claims of harassment? What if a man (or woman) is wrongly accused of something like...oh, say taking upskirt photos at TAM? That person knows that they are innocent but they should just shut up and listen to what the accusers have to say? What if Adam Lee is wrongly accused of something one day? Maybe a woman he accidentally brushes up against in a crowded bar at a conference thinks he grabbed her butt. The woman accuses him of doing it on purpose. He is in danger of being thrown out of the conference and having his name smeared. Doesn't he want to be able to defend himself and say that she was mistaken? Obviously I'm not talking about criminal charges or anything, just the court of public opinion. However, things like this can ruin someone's reputation. Maybe I'm misreading it but I took that paragraph to mean "shut up and listen to the women" when it comes to harassmen - full stop.

Does he like tofu? I used to make puddings , fruit and savory purées with silken tofu for my daughter sometimes when she was a baby (I made most of her baby food myself). Actually, I still make the pudding and fruit ones for her sometimes because she still likes them (she's 2 now, almost 3 ). I can PM you any recipes I still have. Pudding made with silken tofu is a lot more filling than regular pudding. You can't even taste the tofu. It's worth a shot. :)

(Oh, I also want to say, that if someone were truly concerned for decius's well being & thought the threat was a real risk, they'd be advising people to stop being assholes, since there'd be nothing one can do to stop me from carrying out what I said, and taking action *against* the one who threatened would of course only provoke them. Well, I'm hoping his attempt to have pizza last night has caused his throat to be more swollen. His voice is very faint and croaky. However, he's mildly cranky (so that's normal) and he's trying to keep resting. It's just that soup, jello, and pudding isn't cutting it for him at the moment.
