If anyone new is wondering about context, the basic story is the Euliwoo, who claims to a be a 12-year-old gird made a stalky, semi-pornographic post her targeted at a blogger on FfTB, then asked for pictures of dicks to be posted.

After people pointed out that this wasn't really suitable, even for the Pit, she claimed to be in contact with "agents" (presumably FBI) who were very child-friendly.

So, she got put on moderation on legal advice from my sister-in-law, who is a criminal trial attorney and also works with Child Protective Services in Washington State.

I don't really believe that she is a 12-year-old girl, but threatening me and the pit was a bridge too far.

I'm still undecided whether to remove moderation status, and at present lean towards not so doing. If I do, though, it will be after taking further legal advice.

Oh, and pissed off a phenomenal number of regulars here - she is blocked as a foe by more than twice as many posters here as the next person.

As someone who was on the outside of that asylum and watching it as a lurker, the bipolar nature of that place was always puzzling. For a forum that claimed it was so protective of people who had been harmed by the larger society, and tried to claim it was a "safe space", I was always shaking my head at how certain key members like Setar, Ceepolk, Grimalkin and the mod staff could be as abusive as they wanted to anyone they wanted, oftentimes displaying behavior far worse than most other online venues I had ever seen.

As for the anarchy bit, I think of this forum as controlled anarchy. I expect that if I say something dumb I'll get called out, and if I am really annoying about it I'll probably get called a name or two or given a suggestion of what to do with myself, but at least I know I have the freedom to respond back, I won't get censored or memory holed, and I've entered into this place knowing that there's probably as many different ideas on single subjects as there is people (The recent Israel/Palestine debate for example).

This is one of the main reasons I hate FTB so much. They had the oh so brilliant idea for A+, they went around promoting it, they paraded it as a label that meant they were the "good guys". I went there thinking it was a skeptic forum for lefties. And I'm a skeptic, and a leftie. I'm actually pretty knowledgeable about the whole cornucopia of SJ issues, have done IRL activism, etc.

I did, in fact, say TWICE that I am pro-Israel, based not on any kind of supremacy, but on their unfortunate current position, surrounded by angry, supremacist religious fascists. I do not expect them to die or give up anything, and I do not blame them for defending themselves at all. I pointed out that I am not particularly sympathetic towards any Islamic society, or their excuses for violence, based in part on their habit of official approval of anti-jewish hatred and general Islamic supremacy. I even pointed out that I do not agree with what I think the cartoonist was trying to say.

But I STILL hold the right to criticize media campaigns and special pleading and accusations of hatred and genocidal tendencies, especially when pointed at westerners who are being accused of anti-semitism and being pro-genocide based on one interpretation of vague imagery, feelings of oppression, jewish "specialness" or (as often happens) basic criticism of Israelis or Israeli policy. I also criticize other victimized minority groups and their often over-the-top claims of victimhood, and their silencing and shaming tactics. Criticizing Al Sharpton or Obama doesn't make me a racist, and criticizing Netanyahu or the ADL doesn't make me an anti-semite.

Here's something I'll give you, though....I have a lot more respect for Israelis and modern jews than I have for pro-islamist muslims in any country. The jews have really come a long way, and are a good example of how to preserve a heritage without giving in to the temptations of supremacist ideology(even though it is part and parcel of their holy book, like everyone else's). The jews have risen above their beginnings. Muslims have a lot to learn from them, IMO. That said, I couldn't give a rat's ass about jewish tradtions, religion, or respecting their heritage, that's their job...I respect human beings and the real-world principles they can live by, not heritage and ideology. On a practical and humanist level, yarmulkes are just as stupid as praying five times a day, but neither is my problem.

I did, in fact, say TWICE that I am pro-Israel, based not on any kind of supremacy, but on their unfortunate current position, surrounded by angry, supremacist religious fascists. I do not expect them to die or give up anything, and I do not blame them for defending themselves at all. I pointed out that I am not particularly sympathetic towards any Islamic society, or their excuses for violence, based in part on their habit of official approval of anti-jewish hatred and general Islamic supremacy. I even pointed out that I do not agree with what I think the cartoonist was trying to say.

But I STILL hold the right to criticize media campaigns and special pleading and accusations of hatred and genocidal tendencies, especially when pointed at westerners who are being accused of anti-semitism and being pro-genocide based on one interpretation of vague imagery, feelings of oppression, jewish "specialness" or (as often happens) basic criticism of Israelis or Israeli policy. I also criticize other victimized minority groups and their often over-the-top claims of victimhood, and their silencing and shaming tactics. Criticizing Al Sharpton or Obama doesn't make me a racist, and criticizing Netanyahu or the ADL doesn't make me an anti-semite.

Please pull your head out of your ass and see the distinction. Or just keep lying about people. Whatever.

Here's something I'll give you, though....I have a lot more respect for Israelis and modern jews than I have for pro-islamist muslims in any country. The jews have really come a long way, and are a good example of how to preserve a heritage without giving in to the temptations of supremacist ideology(even though it is part and parcel of their holy book, like everyone else's). The jews have risen above their beginnings. Muslims have a lot to learn from them, IMO. That said, I couldn't give a rat's ass about jewish tradtions, religion, or respecting their heritage, that's their job...I respect human beings and the real-world principles they can live by, not heritage and ideology. On a practical and humanist level, yarmulkes are just as stupid as praying five times a day, but neither is my problem.

Anyways, despite Peez's narrative, it looked more to me - judging from Phil's earlier post - that he was simply testing Peez's assertion that the Thunderdome is unmoderated...and finding that Peez's assertion is incorrect. Oh well.

I love the idea that Peez thinks people he's banned from his blog are desperately trying to get back in (I mean, hey, what can you expect from such potential rapists, huh??), and that his banhammer is a mighty weapon to be as feared as King Kong's donger. He reminds me of this guy who used to play the same Zynga game as me years ago - I took the piss out of him a bit on FB, and he got his revenge on me...by attacking my Zynga character.
