I don't have any particular reason to knock down a wall at the moment. If I did, I would not gout and buy a sledgehammer for the purpose unless the wall were made of brick or somesuch. The walls in the average home are not nearly as strong as people generally think they are, and a sledge is overkill for that kind of thing. The one time I participated in taking down a wall, I did much better kicking holes in the sheetrock and pulling it off by hand then sawing through the studs than the jackasses swinging around hammers did (though I expect they had more fun at it).

The only time I've ever used a sledge and not very quickly realized there was a better tool for the job nearby was breaking track on a tank. If the sledge had not been available, I would have been perfectly doing the same job with a cheater pipe, and if I had been in charge of equipping tanks, the gear wouldn't include the hammer for that exact reason. I don't have room in my life for superfluous and redundant shit.
Is Rystefn trying to argue that hammers are unnecessary? Have we possibly come up with an even more pointless argument than the gun control one?
Yes, but that's tangential. The point is that design does not impart purpose. Intent imparts purpose. Design impacts utility and utility sure as fuck impacts the Hell out purpose, put purpose comes only from intent. I purposefully drive nails with all manner of random crap that happens to be lying around at the moment. Cunt called me a liar on this point because he's either an idiot, has never used tools in his life, or simply enjoys calling people liars even though he knows full well that the claim is not unreasonable, I know not which, so I engaged the conversation because I fucking love a good tangent.

I prefer to use Vise-Grips to pull nails. More likely to mess up the head, but less likely to bend them. Why is this controversial? Everyone who has ever used tools has used improvised tools or "wrong" tools to do things. Is it really so insane to you that someone should actually prefer to do so?
Yes, I have used the wrong tools, fucked things up, and then remembered "the right tools for the job" is quite sensible when you care about doing a non-shitty job. I might post pictures of some of the things I have made when I find them.
Yeah, but there's an upper limit to how a shitty a job of driving nails you can do, so who cares? Well, that's not entirely true, I guess, but you can hang a picture perfectly well from a nail driven with a shoe or stapler, and you can walk across the deck whether the nails were driven with a carpenter's hammer or a pipe wrench. Sure, I might bang up the wood a little more with the wrench, but it's not like I wouldn't have banged up the wood with the hammer, too, so I don't give a shit. If it holds the weight and doesn't give people slivers in their feet, I'm happy with it.

Sucker!
There's nothing wrong with what she's saying. She has straight up said she will cover four people, and then asked for donations to get the financial burden of doing that on her own lessened.
Why couldn't she say she would be part-paying then?

Its possible. You can use a big screw driver with the handle as the head to drive tiny crafts tacks. I know I have used a screwdriver to hammer tent stakes before (between boy scouts and the sca I have set up a lot of weird tents in a lot of weird situations). Its still kind of silly to not own a hammer, since hammers work much better.

Maybe you too would like to post your picture so that he and others can make a similar judgement of you?

How old did you say you were? ….
Just jumping in to take yet another opportunity to say it: It's totally kosher for me to make fun of his looks, then? Because I wouldn't fuck him with Half-fish's dick.
Let me add this, Steer. In the event that I decided to post my picture here -for public consumption- you think that if anybody call me ugly...then I'm gonna learn my lesson or something? Is that it?

hahaha

Not really...now I am the one who want to know how old you are. Cause this is shit straight from an after-school special.

Anthony K sure thinks highly of himself.

He comes across as simultaneously stupid and arrogant but I don't think he has a healthy sense of self esteem.
His pissy little attacks and name calling are his way of coping with his inadequacy. I suppose he thinks his avatar with his hangdog posture makes him look thoughtful, to me it just looks like the brooding, self pitying loser that he is.

Eucliwood, how old are you? For real, how old?

It’s just like my Adults deciding they should come down in a middle of a conversation (sometimes not even knowing what happened) and yelling at me with their two cents in when it only takes one Adult. (I am not an adult, to explain.)
If you are a minor, on top of all that other weird stalky stuff, I recommend that you go somewhere else to play. I don't know what others think, but I consider this an adult place where we don't have censor ourselves to be "family-safe" or "child-safe".

So, yeah, Eucli, if you are a kid, find yourself some teen forums or blogs that are rated safe for kids.

And with that, now knowing she's a minor, I'm going to just ignore her, stop picking on her, and hope she just goes away.

You know, Rystefyn could find a loophole here by using the back-end of an electric screwdriver - those things can be pretty hefty.

BTW someone commented on my signature. It's a quote from Tacitus. Don't ask me where, I can't recall. It's like the Shakespeare quote I've loved since college: "Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile" meaning, Light(the mind) seeking light(knowledge) doth light(in this case a candle) of light( the eyes) beguile.

IOW: too much studying is bad for the eyes.

Or maybe I also am busy doing other things than reading this forum, not that I can't easily read the forum with a mobile device and do other things. Looks like I'm the subject now? I don't read past posts. Tell me what the questions are, and I'll answer them. I saw Scented Nectar in your post quote. if she said I did anything, she just has a serious issue with me, and I'd ignore it - in fact, if it's her, assume the answers to her "serious wonderings" (she knows she's pulling shit out of her ass and exaggerating) are no. I already told her the answers were no last time.
If she's the one who asked how old I am, I have her on ignore, and I am not supposed to be bothered with her. I don't feel a need to answer how old I am. I'm old enough that no one is violating COPPA by my posting here.

Um, you guys are the ones randomly talking about me and when I respond, it's not relevant? And at the same time, you scold me for not scouring through shitloads of posts to find questions? Wouldn't more responses from me piss you off? Not everyone reads past posts. This isn't the first time I said I don't. It's partially for the forum - so I am not responding to a bunch of posts from the past. If I did, you'd bitch and moan. Now that I don't, you bitch and moan.

I just got this post accepted on Thibeault's blog:
I don’t think what’s going on with Eucliwood is comparable to the vast number of bannings from A+, FTB, etc. In addition, she is not banned from the Slymepit and would only likely be banned if it was decided that there were issues with keeping her there beyond upsetting or annoying people (i.e. complications arising from her being a minor).

Still, the people over in the Slymepit like to be there in-part because there is very little chance of being banned for disagreeing or losing your temper. The other places online that do moderate more strictly such as A+ and FTB both say “This isn’t a free speech issue because these people can just go somewhere else and share their ideas.” which is fine. What is… less fine… is then claiming that the people who decide to go to those places are tainted by their association with them. Not something I’ve seen you do, but it’s hardly rare on FTB.
I'm not much of one for feng shui, but I think there is some sort of chakral alignment between that post and the ones from Anthony K that surround it. They really tie the discussion together.

Not much actually – it was a hypothetical, a reference to a “sore thumb” that could – conceivably, at a stretch – be hiding something else, that I thought useful to illustrate a point. That you might want to address by answering my own questions. Either that or, “If it's too much for your fragile eyes, look away, snowflake” ….
What did it ever do to you?!

Easily done: just ask Lsuoma to give you a temporary ban.
I'm only getting myself banned from the Slymepit if I can get a t-shirt for it.

(seriously though I might consider that, cheers)
Would that work or could you still lurk, cause if you can still lurk you can still see all the lolz. Problem not solved :( I've tried to 'quit the pit' 4 times this week so I could finally get some work done. DAMMIT YOU FUCKERS STOP BEING SO FUNNY! And before someone says I just need more self control, fuck you that's victim blaming :naughty:

I really don't want to read a post in which I am publicly slammed on someone's blog, if that's what that is. If it is, why the hell would you link to me? Kind of harsh, don't you think?

@Eucliwood

You appeared as though you were ignorant of it, that's all. I was just offering the info, not compelling you to go and look at it.

Reread my post - I was saying it was kind of harsh to link me to it. Not that he made a post about me. Not that, in this case, it's the same - I didn't do anything to the guy, and he's slamming me for nothing, if you are confirming that it is a post about me. What a little bitch.

I've put her on ignore. For now. Let's see where it goes. Banning, etc.? Absolutely not.
You have stiffened my resolve. Thank you sir. No ban!
We don't want to become like others on the net that ban people just because we disagree with what they say or how they present themselves. ERV set this forum up for Free Speech.
If someone has access to liquid nitrogen, a peach, and a hammer (or a big screwdriver, but Rystefyn has to do it in that case) I have a great idea for a Slymepit logo.

He seems more concerned about the emails you sent him, and the stories you wrote involving him here.

I sent him an email asking him if I can use his name in anything I write (I was originally going to make a livejournal) in case he tries to pull a court subpoena on me or something. I was scared, as I don't know the law, and I heard that FtBers sometimes do this. I was just being sure. As for the stories, they were none of his business. I didn't mean to expose them to him. I told him not to look. I feel no pity for him being creeped out.

So, I don't know if it's an honest mistake that's getting around because my name is kind of a random cluster of letters to most people's eyes or a dig because it looks stupid to most people's eyes. There's only the one y in my name. If it's an honest mistake, you're welcome. If it's a dig, go find something funnier because that's weak as fuck.

No mac, I'm usually on my ps3, but that^^^ is awesome and should be installed on every piece of electronic equipment on the planet! I'm just going to have to do it the old fashioned cold turkey way

Meh. If he hits a piece of balsa wood with an electric screwdriver he'll probably just knock his teeth out, and I won't pay him.

Oh come on... That should be worth at least a fiver for the comedy value alone. Especially if I had the stones (sexism) to put it on YouTube after I did it.

Being surrounded by the exclamations of a ranting maniac makes your already perfectly reasonable post really shine. Clair obscur.

Can someone fill me in on what the hell happened, if anything has happened? Do I already know, and people are just making a subject out of what I thought was a small thing? If so, estimates on when the topic will be over? Also, I don't know who Simpleflower is.
