Cato Institute podcast interviews an economist with a rather charitable assessment of Modern Monetary Theory.

And a less charitable assessment of how MMT proponents have changed their tune, now that inflation is here.

This discussion is concise & easy to follow... (far more-so than Stephanie Kelton's appearance on Jon Stewart's show.)

In this cohort study of 23.1 million Nordic residents aged 12 years or older, the risk of myocarditis was higher within 28 days of vaccination with both BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 compared with being unvaccinated, and higher after the second dose of vaccine than the first dose. The risk was more pronounced after the second dose of mRNA-1273 than after the second dose of BNT162b2, and the risk was highest among males aged 16 to 24 years.

Yep, real nest. The geese are old friends of mine, they've set up shop by my patio for years. I don't use telephoto on these shots, I just belly right up to the nest. Such as with this shot, where I was only a couple of feet away. In a month I'll have baby geese waddling all over me. I'm just cool like that.
It is amazing how much a little bit of feed and a lot of patience can make you a part of their family. Not surprising that animals have been domesticated for thousands of years.

Side effects to just about any drug. The question is whether more lives saved with the vaccine than lost with the side effects. You see anything in that paper which says one way or the other?

I was waiting to see which covidiot would jump all over that platitudinal, noncommittal insertion to the paper.

Since the risk of 'severe rona disease' in healthy young males is ~ 0.000000%, the risk:benefit analysis can be done in an instant.

And since I quoted the conclusion towards the end of the paper, yeah, I got a bit farther than the second sentence.

New Zealand Censorship board:
‘Justine, Philosophy In The Bedroom, & Other Writings’ is a dense academic text that celebrates and draws together contextual and biographical material with an anthology of works of the infamous 18th Century philosopher the Marquis de Sade. The classical style of writing is very divorced from modern contemporary texts. Although salacious and at times explicit, this florid text will be largely impenetrable to modern lay readers.

Whilst the publication deals with extreme sexual acts, violence, cruelty and other problematic material, the purpose, style, and merit of the text eclipses any harmful impact the text may have on a reader. This is particularly so for young readers who will find the text impenetrable for the
reasons and thus will be unable to absorb the text and its meaning.

That I insist on the use of the biological definitions for the sexes by which to have a sex is to have functional gonads of either of two types, and by which those with neither are thereby sexless, somehow makes those "theybe" nutcases and their ilk part of my family?

Morgan is a lazy thinker. Stop playing their word games -- sex is sex and there are two of them. Gender is a made-up, non-existent delusion.
You might try giving some thought to another fairly popular and quite credible viewpoint by which gender is just a rough synonym for personality types:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender

Much of Wikipedia's articles on gender are largely postmodernist claptrap and feminist dogma - that article gushes over Judith Butler- but it also quotes Scalia's analogy that has some clarifying utility:

"Gender is to sex as feminine is to female, and as masculine is to male".

A large part to the problem with the whole transgender clusterfuck is contradictory definitions for the terms in question. Far too many, mostly on the right by the look of it, insist that sex and gender are identical categories. Some historical and etymological justification for that, but now there's some reason to clearly differentiate between the biological - sex: male and female - and the psychological and the behavioural - gender: masculine and feminine.

Steers--

At what age should your views on gender & sex be taught in schools?

Given the immature mentality of adult women in our society-- often they're cunting at an 8th grade level well into their 30's--

perhaps an early-education 'head start' program would align proficiency with their biology & they'll finally agree they're not women-- by age 50.

Of course-- some advanced-placement 'Lisa Simpson' over-achievers... such as the Romulan in the PIers Morgan video... will arrive-early (per the always-correct one-size-fits-all Standard Normal Distribution pattern)... and stop being women much-earlier.

Her memetic acceleration is, perhaps counterintuitively: retardation. And the cure is: more retardation. She must be assigned more homework, so the rest of the class can catch up. In the video-- she describes her theybe as antegender. Or, 'before gender'.

She's halfway there! Now you can introduce her to the concept of "antesexual". Or, 'before you pay for it'. Then tell her that her 'woman card' awards her a free yeaster egg cunt with the 12th stamp or punch.

No tickee and not without some ;-) nor somewhat apropos of no "shirtee" with however at least some justification, and hardly less so.

Gender is not a made-up illusion. It defines the broad set of traits characteristic of each of the two biological sexes, and possibly of gays as well. The current usage disconnects the concept from biology and posits a continuous spectrum, completely disregarding the strong link between biology and traits. It is almost completely useless given the almost infinite number of genders under this usage which defeats the purpose of common language as it introduces a dizzying complexity and serves no useful function in describing someone.

What does gender cover or explain that physical sex and sex-based behavior do not?

The putative brain function of a 'gender identity' is superfluous to behavior, and would provide no fitness benefit. It allegedly arose at some point in our evolutionary past (animals are said to not have a gender identity) but no one can say when, how, or what for.

As currently described, gender is analogous to a spirit or soul.

No doubt I deserve a few lumps for my cliches but the doggerel produce by the "Service Dog po-mo generator" proves little more than the applicability of Proverbs 1:22 to you:
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorers delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
https://biblehub.com/kjv/proverbs/1-22.htm

Though you may have a point about "immature mentality" even if that may apply equally to "men" and "women" both.

Don't know when "my views on sex and gender should be taught in schools", but clearly what is being taught right now - on both subjects - is a clusterfuck of antiscientific claptrap, politically motivated dogma, and "folk-biology". Pretty much an amalgam of flat-earth, young-earth, and humans not descended from apes, particularly relative to gender though sex is hardly much better.

Not going to resolve that issue without putting both concepts on a scientific footing, though gender itself is hardly better than the "pseudo-science" and "Chinese fortune cookie" phrases used to describe the Myers-Briggs system of personality types.

Gobsmacking, really, how "gender" ever it got any sort of foothold in the education system - too much scientific illiteracy and "magical thinking". Any "teacher" peddling it should be fired, and it should be taught as a "theory" on par with phrenology. Replaced with a recognition that personality types are not unique to any particular sex, potential or actual.

Methinks you're conflating gender and gender identity - entirely different kettles of fish. The first has objective correlates - personality types and traits - the second is entirely subjective. Some marginal value in the first, virtually diddly-squat in the second.

Agreeableness for one thing - women are statistically more likely to be more agreeable than men. I'd posted a graph of that to Wikimedia a year or so ago, and linked to it in my article on Wikipedia's Lysenkoism:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File ... blenes.jpg

medium.com/@steersmann/wikipedias-lysenkoism-410901a22da2

Same thing with the "Big Five Personality Traits" - some significant differences in prevalence between men and women:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_ ... ity_traits

But those personality traits - AKA, gender - have got diddly-squat to do with what it takes to qualify as male or female. For instance:
male: of or denoting the sex that produces sperm
https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/male

Agreeableness or any of the rest of the personality traits aren't essential to qualify as male or female. The only criteria to so qualify is functional gonads of either of two types - period.
'Gender Identity' can't exist without genders to identify as.
Sure, but guns can exist without crimes with them having been committed. That gender - as a collection of objective traits - exists is no justification for arguing that gender identity is anything other than a cognitive distortion if not an outright psychosis.

Gender is usually defined as the cultural and social attributes associated with either of the two sexes. It is differentiated from biological identification in that one can have the physical characteristics of one sex yet be more psychologically aligned with the other. IMO the conviction of a gender dysphoric individual is a strong indicator of the existence of a genetically linked gender binary. They don't tend to feel a little bit female sometimes, they really believe that they are women at heart. It seems to support the idea of an endocrine/brain based affinity with a particular self perception and it would appear that dysphoric individuals have had some genetic wires crossed.

Agree on the "broad set of traits" though the link between biology and traits is somewhat variable: height differences are probably entirely biological, agreeableness is probably "socially constructed", at least in part.

But likewise agree on "infinite numbers" - a well-populated and continuous spectrum. About the most that could be said is any one person is more towards the reddish end than the blueish end, towards the masculine or feminine end. A more unscientific "theory" is scarcely imaginable - not surprising given that Judith Butler and her ilk have their dirty ideological mitts all over the concept.

Sorry, but I don't think you have. It's NOT just a case of the Big Five, but that there are significant differences in their prevalence between men and women, some traits more prevalent in one sex than the other, and vice versa for other traits.

Some social value in understanding the causes and magnitudes.

Zuck has obviously gone full censor following Elon's conquest of Twitter. It must suck being obscenely rich & powerful, yet still have such a tiny dick while not understanding all those strange humans around you.

I don't know what they're complaining about. They did say to go and get your own platform, so Musk did.

Yesterday-- in a budget meeting for the jazz party job-- someone uttered the words "Covid precautions".

The CEO-- a dopey chick from Minnesota-- said 'we strongly urge everyone to get fully Boosted, it's very important...'

My Zoolander boss said "I know a great testing company which can come onsite and test everyone daily & check vaccination cards and..."

All I could think about was the 7 work crew I had hired the day-before, having been given no warning this Covid shit would be an issue. And the $100,000 catering contract... just agreed-to that morning, after weeks of haggling... with 20 bartenders & waiters & no forewarning...

Zoolander then asked, "What about [the jazz band]? They may, um, come from-- uh-- a... community... which... is opposed to vaccination?"
(They're black. From a black-preacher background.) "They would have to be approached... with.. uh, um, ... sensitivity. "

The CEO firmly declared that the band would NOT be asked about their vax status. But a Vice-President cunt chimed-in... saying... "Of course we can ask the band what Their Prefereences are... and comply with their wishes... if they want everyone providing service in the Green Room to be masked, for example... catering, hair & make-up... "

The CEO started flailing-- attempting to backpedal-- but speaking so-euphemistically-- that she made no sense... except to say that the 250 party guests wouldn't have to meet any Covid requirements. Zoolander jumped-in to save her.. with a word salad which included 3 servings of the phrase "It's about optics..."

V.P. cunt said, "But all the floor staff who are serving food or drinks could be masked..." Another cunt replied, "but that could have certain connotations, like, 'why are you wearing a mask?, have you been exposed?' " CEO cunt jumped-in to say.. "there's an aesthetic concern... we'd have to ask [the horny gaylord company founder]." Fuck that. Whether sexy waiters in masks are hot-or-not is not a medical decision. "It's about optics," repeated Zoolander, thinking he sounded smart.

Then the CEO disclosed that V.P. cunt (who was masked) had been exposed to covid, but they "didn't think" the govt's recommended quarantining was reasonable, "if you've been boosted". VP she was coming to work masked... but only notifying us she was a leper-- after the fact. (Meanwhile, GF is constantly entering a nursing home/hospital daily... because her dad was in that stroke/coma state.)

I left the meeting feeling wobbly, like I was stumbling away from a roller-coaster. A rolled car. An earthquake in Clown Town. I got no more work done. I couldn't even remember what I was supposed to be doing, before the damn meeting. As the night fell, I went from topsy-turvy to pissed-off. Usually, I'm very capable of doing my job-- getting paid to make sure someone else's concert/promotional event/party... runs smoothly. Regardless of how I feel about the client. But this time... it feels grotesque to pretend that they're cool delightful fun people to party-with. People like this have no idea how much backlash they're generating. Go ahead-- shrug off dissenters as QAnon anti-vaxxers... see how that works out for ya.

Suggestion... call the stupid chick from Minnesota. Tell her that you talked to your crew about vaxing and masks. Tell her that several of your crew were offended. That they are key people for the success of the party. You will have to find a new crew if masks/vax are required. (hopefully some of your crew are black). Tell her about the Tuskegee experiments and how one of the crew talked about it. Ask her to help if she can resolve this. Your crew is hurt and offended. Just a thought.

Cults everywhere. What looks like a chunk of the previously rational "populist" crowd have developed an unhealthy propensity for accepting any and all anti NATO and anti Western conspiracy theories. It struck me when listening to Douglas Murray talk about the self-flagellation and self-inflicted demoralisation of the West that there are many dishonest or bitter actors on the right doing just as much to bring down Western culture. It is unquestionable that the US govt's new disinfo watchdog KGB analogue is going to focus on anything true or untrue said by opposition, but there is nevertheless a lot of disinformation being put about by the Russians. I don't think many people understand how much disinformation Russia have been pushing out over the last couple of decades, particularly about Ukraine, and you can definitely see the effect it has had on elements of the politically and culturally "red pilled" community. There are a host of social media and even MSM characters busily questioning the aid being given to Ukraine, making the case for Putin and doing their utmost to talk down Ukraine's war effort. A lot of what they say can be traced to Russian media sources. The biolab story, for instance, was constructed by taking a subset of the available information, adding some lies and creating a fictitious air of secrecy and subterfuge and feeding it to Westerners who will believe it because it helps them to throw rocks at their political enemies.

Not sure what you're alleging. The US government first denied it was funding any biolabs in Ukraine, then was forced to admit we were funding about 20 of them for going on 30 years, unbeknownst to anyone. Somebody started calling them 'bioweapons labs', so the Biden admin and its stooges in MSM could easily dismiss as "conspiracy theory' any & all questions about what these labs were for or why we were funding them in the first place.

I believe Qanon was also fabricated by the powers-that-be, to similarly taint any legitimate concern over the actual, documents rampant pedophilia & grooming by the elite. I call this 'lizard tail dropping' but there may be another common term for it.

On the flip side, notice how the 'Bucha Massacre' story just evaporated? There were indications some of the scenes were staged, it didn't elicit the desired foaming rage against EVIL!!!! Putin, so they dropped it. They keep tossing fake shit at the wall to see what sticks.

Those biolabs were not unbeknownst to anyone. The research they are doing is not secret. This is an example of how disinformation works. Whatever impression the US govt gives of trying to cover up is seized on to create the impression of something untoward when the reality is that the existence and function of the labs has never been a mystery.

The Bucha story hasn't disappeared. Investigators have found a lot of victims killed by artillery flechettes, shots to the back of the head and cluster bombs. Some victims have their hands tied. Why is it that people are more willing to believe the Russians, given that they are known to do this kind of thing, than French investigators? Putin can be described as evil. His MO is very plain from past military incursions. Outright brutality to make the enemy feel helpless is his standard. Putin's propaganda machine is always on hand to exploit the mistrust of Westerners to hide Russian crimes. Just because the Western media is not averse to lying doesn't mean that everything they say is untrue or that enemies of the West are therefore honest. Media lying and press suppression is far far worse in Russia than in hte West. There are a lot of Western "journalists" on the Ukraine beat who are really Russia fanboys and will fake interviews and protests. Russian media outlets have been caught so often just inventing quotes from people, staging protests nowhere near where they are supposed to be, borrowing shots from unrelated events and any other form of bullshit you can think of. They just delete and move on when caught, often just shifting to a different angle. They have been caught lying about catching Ukrainians staging atrocities.

The pristine white cloth binding the hands of decomposing bodies is cited as suspicious. Undoubtedly, the Russians have been targeting civilians (a war crime that Obama also committed.) But kudos to the Ukrainians for great propaganda - seriously, they gotta do what they gotta do. Ghost of Kiev, Miss Universe toting a Kalashnikov, etc.

Why is it that people are more willing to believe the Russians, given that they are known to do this kind of thing, than French investigators?
It's more that I'm seriously disinclined to believe my government on anything at this point. Covid aside, It blatantly lied about the biolabs, while the Russians, albeit engaging in their own propaganda, were much closer to the truth. Compare to when the US government lied about the Katyn massacre to protect its ally. As horrible as the Nazis were, and such consummate liars themselves, they were telling the truth about Katyn.

Putin can be described as evil. His MO is very plain from past military incursions.
Putin is a sociopath with no qualms about hurting any great number of people to achieve his ends. The current Democrat/MSM tactic of incessantly describing him as EVIL!!! (seriously, usually in all caps,) is designed to evoke an irrational, mindless, emotional response from the public. Anyone willing to start WWIII to cover up their domestic policy fuck-ups, is equally as 'evil' as Vlad.

If the members of Congress were uninformed, a vague blurb buried on some obscure fed website, loosely linked to one of 10,000 line items in a funding bill, does not count as 'not unbeknownst.'

You ain't wrong about the large amount of edgelord noisemaking-- about-how Ukraine sold-out to the globalists/ so therefore is Putin our savior from the pedo-crats.

But I hope/suspect that the noise isn't persuasive beyond a tiny 4chan core. And that even-they don't mean it at-face-value (like a brainwashed cult would).

I think it's largely a stick in the eye-- to the braindead hivemind of Approved Opinion. Jamming the Ministry of Truth's transmission-- by flagrantly striking a pose of equal-and-opposite fucktardation... (with tongue in cheek).

Haha. Things I learned this week.

1) Rich and famous people like Johnny Depp live so differently than I do I have trouble even imagining it. He has people working for people working for people working for him. His own island. Houses all over the place. Just insane. I can't imagine how a person could feel grounded or at peace with all this going on. I suspect, even with my problems with my marriage and family, that I am happier that Johnny Depp.

2) The Walking Dead TV show is still running. It has gotten so desperate that they have soldiers dressed like Star Wars storm troopers. Haha. My wife was watching and I mentioned this... and she said "I am not going to talk to you." See hates it when I pick on her TV shows... and I pick on all her TV shows.

3) Never thought of it...but... electric cars are really "coal powered" cars. Haha.

4) If you allow yourself to cough you tend to cough more. When you cough your body makes more mucus, If your cough is being caused by mucus you will just cough more. I have been having crazy coughing fits lately. You have to fight it. Some coughs are important to clear your lungs from disease, but when it is just mucus you need to fight it.

Your post reads like an extract from "Hagakure - The John D Edition" - a book I'd certainly buy!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hagakure

Example of the seemingly random thoughts and musings contained within Hagakure:
“There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. A man's whole life is a succession of moment after moment. There will be nothing else to do, and nothing else to pursue. Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.”
― Yamamoto Tsunetomo
“To give a person an opinion one must first judge well whether that person is of the disposition to receive it or not.”
― Yamamoto Tsunetomo
“Matters of great concern should be treated lightly.” Master Ittei commented, “Matters of small concern should be treated seriously.”
― Yamamoto Tsunetomo
If you've never read Hagakure, I strongly recomend giving it a go. It's a strange but very interesting insight into the mind of a man thirsting for a period of open warfare he was born too late to enjoy.
