So the right thinks Portland is bad because the mayor is the police commissioner and looks the other way when Antifa is doing bad things.

The left thinks Portland is bad because the mayor is the police commissioner and he looks the other way when the police do bad things:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/202 ... story.html
There’s a reason why Donald Trump chose Portland as his first major staging ground for this war on journalists and racial justice activists. In the weeks before Trump sent in Department of Homeland Security forces, the Portland police had been making regular use of violent tactics to subdue demonstrators.

For me, listening to old school conspiracy alarmists-- is a psychedelic experience. If, high on LSD, I thought I met a green alien Jesus... I wouldn't build a church with a little green mannequin on a cross. Instead-- I'd try to derive some insight-- about the nature of brain chemicals, imagination, symbols, the nature of perception.

Likewise, I don't have much use for the literal truth of whether Bill Gates is enacting a hundred-year plan designed by Cecil Rhodes and the Carnegie family-- to colonize Mars with the 'Favored Races' mentioned in the subtitle to Darwin's Origin of the Species.

The value I derive-- is from stretching my thinking to consider incoming curveballs.

"Six months from now, when a gallon of milk will cost $25..."

and

"Don't prepare yourself for standing in a Great Depression line for bread and soup... that's too rosy. This TIme you'll be locked-away in your home, out of sight, starving and suffering."

So here's a podcast episode, which set my brain juices swirling...

Wasn't Obama on the Epstein flight logs as well?

They're gonna have to make a choice. Either what happened on Epstein's island wasn't all child diddling, or it all was meaning that everyone on those flight logs are guilty and complicit. Also, it's ironic they use this moment against Trump, but excuse or even justify Chrissy Teigen's behaviour, even going so far as to ban thousands of QAnon accounts who documented all the tweets she deleted expressing a desire to fuck and/or molest kids. There's also that BLM organiser who wanted to defund the police and abolish prison ("Skate Away The Hate") getting charged with six counts of possession of child porn. Go figure.

Couldn't agree more.

Kicking an unconcious person in the face is pretty much attempted murder.

Except that it has nothing whatever to do with the plot of the movie - suggesting that it got chosen because they were already working on a song called "Mrs Robinson."

I don't think so. Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's plane and even used it on international trips to promote his foundation. Clinton denies visiting Epstein's island, although some sources place him there.
Unlike Trump, Clinton hasn't had Epstein related girls/women accusing him of sexual activity, however if someone has the goods on him and he is credibly accused I say string him up too.

Well, there's this compiled list from the sleuths at Reddit allegedly showing all the people who flew to Epstein's island and/or all the people affiliated with Epstein:

Which is, arguably, dubious and understandably questionable.

Then there's the official flight manifests:

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents ... fests.html

Where Bill Clinton/William J. Clinton can be seen multiple times, during and after his presidency.

However, where Insider claims Donald Trump can be seen on the flight logs in 1997, when you scan the flight manifests he's nowhere to be seen. Nor is Tom Hanks, who was rumoured to have taken trips to Epstein island (or "Lolita Island" as it's more commonly known). Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey are there (page 13), but Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are absent. Whether that means not all the flight manifests have been released or it's just people having some fun with photoshop is unclear.

(Someone converted the entirety of the flight manifests to text, so it's easier to search. It's here.)

Yeah, that one. But when you try to find it on the flight manifests, it's not there. Unless they removed it.

I did find this, Epstein's "black book" with all his contacts and phone numbers:

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents ... acted.html

With Donald Trump listed (page 80). That's still inconclusive whether he visited Epstein's island for some "pizza" (as Chrissy Teigen would say).

That log post has Trump flying from Florida to New York. I've seen a claim Trump visited the island, taking his own jet, but I don't think that was corroborated so I would put it in the "many people are saying" column for now. :ugeek:

Bill Clinton used Epstein's Lolita Express airplane for a week-long celebrity trip to Africa, for the Clinton Foundation, and all the great work they did for Africa that week. Ghislaine Maxwell was aboard and one of the girls Epstein raped repeatedly-- was aboard, dressed as a stewardess, to serve Clinton, Chris Tucker, Kevin Spacey.

The video security installer who wired up Epstein's New Mexico cowboy-themed compound-- says Epstein and a staff-boss-guy kept bragging that Bill & Hillary visit yearly for a week, bringing kids & grandkids. They allegedly stay in a house-- about a mile from Epstein's house. Bill Clinton denies being "in" Epstein's house (except he admits being in Epstein's apartment). And he denies having sex with that Lewinsky woman.

Trump's history with Epstein is well documented. Including Trump banning Epstein from Mar A Lago after a complaint from a female employee-- regarding inappropriate behavior from Epstein. One of Epstein's accusers was working at Mar A Lago when she was recruited by Ghislaine.

=
I read all 1500 names in Epstein's little black book-- wondering how much his world would intersect with mine. Two wealthy clients-- who used to hire me to hang their art collections-- were named. But that book was short on art-world society people. Fashion also under-represented. (Except the Victoria's Secret connection, I suppose.)

Fuck... ya :nin:'ed me.

I came here to post that Lincoln Project/Ghislaine ad-- and say-- pushing the Epstein angle too hard is gonna backfire. Several ways.

Better to let Trump say weird shit-- and let grassroots-viral trump-haters keep reminding people forever, like "grab 'em by the pussy".

Or get some respected Michelle Obama type to condemn Trump's 'I wish her well', with solemnity & credible gravitas.

But using Lincoln Project to broadcast the message-- reduces it to ratfuck dirty tricks noise. They're cackling hyenas, not genuinely concerned parents, who care about the well-being of children.

right? or... no? You consider them "Real Republicans". Like-- you'd prefer if Jeb Bush or Chris Christie, Scott Walker, or Bobby Jindal-- had won the 2016 GOP primary & were in the White House right now? With a White Houe staffed by the Lincoln Project Roger Ailes/Lee Atwater wannabees?

Pushing Trump-Epstein is gonna backfire because the Jeffrey Epstein story drags too many other saints down to Trump's devil-level. Hard to say Trump is some unique villain, when ABC news covered-up the Epstein story 3 years ago. And Anderson Cooper partied with Epstein. And not just Bill Clinton-- Chelsea Clinton vacationed with Epstein! "Everybody Is Just As Bad As Trump" is the only storyline which ever makes Trump look relatively-clean. But the Dems are gonna run that play again. Just like 2016-- when Hillary couldn't effectively attack Trump's sex life because Bill Clinton.

Trump seems determined to lose in November. But I don't count him out-- the Democrats are the all-time self-sabotage champs.

The words from S&G were, to me at least, an obvious homage to Mrs R from Benjamin after his first blow job.

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know

Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home

Jesus loves you more than you will know
Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It's a little secret just the Robinson's affair
Most of all you've got to hide it from…

I believe I will. What is it about NZ that makes them produce such strange and offbeat comedy? Is Waititi just inspired by Jackson, or are you all that way? For the few who may not know, before Jackson blotted his escutcheon with Tolkien, he was beloved for Bad Taste, Dead Alive, Meet the Feebles, and The Frighteners. He also did a mockumentary (Forgotten Silver) and might have morphed into a weird relative of Roeg with the way Heavenly Creatures was going. But then Tolkien and big budgets ruined him.

I can send you a Union Jack, a Maple Leaf, a White Ensign and Y Ddraig Goch if you would like to trigger a few more (if not actually everyone!)

And while we consider such nationalism, I was just reading an article about how populations will move in response to climate change, if it is real etc etc. Seems to me the smart move for America would be to build a tiny short wall, rather than a long (1950 miles), porous and expensive one. Make a one-time offer to Mexico to be annexed with full citizenship. Then build a short (540 miles) cheap and impermeable wall along the Mexico-Guatemala border. Or you could be the nice, kind and generous people we know you to be and do something else.

In this week's news, a federal court in Canada has ruled that the USA is not a 'safe third country' and thus the thousands leaving the USA each month to cross the border into Canada at unofficial crossing points (see Roxham Road) and make refugee claims here will end. It will now be official Canadian policy that anyone may enter Canada at any border crossing, official or otherwise, and make their refugee claim just as easily and legally, even if they already have a claim open in the USA. In totally unrelated news, officials warn that the Canada-USA border will not be opening any time soon, purely to keep out the plague, you understand, and nothing to do with refugees.

I could have raised a confederate battle flag... but I have no skin in that game. My family fought for the Union. If I had one more column I would have raised a "star spangled banner" flag, which was the version of the flag that flew over Fort McHenry when the National Anthem was written. If you ever want a massive dose of patriotism I recommend a visit to Fort McHenry in Baltimore. It was over-the-top fabulous.

Yeah.... interesting choice too. I am really not pro or anti-police. The police are necessary and many of them deserve great respect. Some of them are complete criminals... so... it is not always clear to me. I just decided to stick with a theme of liberty in general.

right? or...
Christie, Walker, and Jindal aren't real Republicans because they're not neverTrumpers, so I wouldn't want to see them in office either.
Bush or maybe Mittens Romney would at least be an improvement, however ideally the head of my chosen political party, The Rich Socialists should take over the Republican Party.

The first one seems to indicate at least partial support for remaining in the EU.

Your house seems relatively suburban...but with enough landscape around - are you not having any problems with carnivores or scavengers or other animals?

Living in the city - and keeping to a routine of early morning walks - I've noticed a few red foxes about. Though I'm not sure if there has been an increase in their activity related to what the humans have been up to.

They do stop and give you the side-eye on occasion.

And the foxes too.

Troy is a suburb that started even before the white-flight from Detroit in the early 70s. Many houses were built in the 60s and so our trees are mature and we have many spaces that are fairly wild. So... the wilderness is moving back here. There are rabbits, squirrels, deer and skunks galore. I see deer about every other day... and they eat my plants every night... the bastards. Foxes and coyotes have moved in. My neighbor lost their little dog to a coyote. Coyotes don't eat dogs, but they are territorial, so they attack a dog they think they can hurt. I always leash walk my little 15 pound mutt so she doesn't get attacked.

I do love it here. I feed the birds and squirrels and my backyard is like a little zoo. I love it.

NZ does put out some quirky low budget films. And our humour is dry, a bit like our best white wines.

One of my early favourites was Goodbye Pork Pie.

Forgotten Silver was classic. I remember watching it on TV and being half convinced (along with half of NZ. The other half were fully convinced).

There's nothing like human behaviour to make you appreciate nature. Though I've sure that others have expressed it better than me.

"I've seen things you probably would believe,

Foxes dive-bombed by crows in the middle of the night,

I've watched squirrels frolic in the dark near the Victoria Park Gate.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain".

And speaking of Troy - I was listening to 'Operation Lightning Pegasus' just yesterday

I'm not completely convinced by the regional accents though.
