Isn't the media looking lovely right now? Won't confidence in the news be ever so high? The public's confidence in things like GamerGate will be so justified.

As I said earlier, I voted Hillary but was partly hoping Trump would win (because the Leftists deserve it).
I regret partly hoping that Trump would win.

Utah results so far trump 54% , Mcmullin 21%,Clinton 21% 5 votes behind independent cand. Mcmullin
Re: The Refuge of the Toads
So what's the key point now - he has flipped Ohio. Is there anything in WA Ore CA that matter? Does Ariz count as a player? Wis?
Re: The Refuge of the Toads
I'm laughing my ass off at the people on here who poo-poohed Trumps chances.
I also like the ones who think he will somehow empower the SJW's by somehow "oppressing" them (by not giving them most, or all of everything they want, like Hillary would).
And no, I'm not worried about Trump running a dictatorship (the corrupt apparatchucks won't let him).
A good night.
I must say the next 4 years under God Emperor Trump might be VERY interesting.

I know - that's been obvious ever since Browerd went to 95%.Spike13 wrote:I do have to say, this is the best horse race we've seen in some time.
Lots of states that they haven't called, don't know why they haven't called Florida.

I can just as easily imagine myself sitting around cursing myself were the Turd Sandwich winning and I'd voted for her instead.
Participating in this election in any capacity is nothing but regret. As would be sitting out. Everything sucks.

People are now calling Florida for Trump.
Everyone on NBC outside of Chuck Todd are starting the blame/excuse game.

Left coast was never in play. WI is likely to go Trump. Clinton needs AZ to have a path.Brive1987 wrote:So what's the key point now - he has flipped Ohio. Is there anything in WA Ore CA that matter? Does Ariz count as a player? Wis?
Re: The Refuge of the Toads
Trump will give the SJWs exactly what they want, which is a bunch of stupid empty words they can bitch about for four years. He'll definitely be an all you can eat buffet for outrage.

You know I never threatened violence.Tigzy wrote:Well at least you won't go on the rampage, Clarence. So there's that.
I said there would be SOME political violence from the left or right if Clinton won.
There's still a chance there will be some with Trump in charge. Just a lesser chance IN MY opinion.
Anyway, I'm happy.

Relatedly, my daughter just asked me whether abortion will still be legal if and when she needs it to be. Before I could answer, my wife said: "no, but only because it isn't legal in New Zealand." Then she went back to surfing the University of Otago website. My daughter said that maybe when we get there, we can "buy mom a sheep ... that'll cheer her up."Sunder wrote:As has already been said judging by Trump's own words Pence will be acting President from day 1. Indeed, he was bashed for putting Trump at above the 30% mark, while other mainstream news thought he had a matchstick fire's in a blizzard chance only.Billie from Ockham wrote:At what point do the people that were dissing 538 start to wonder if they might owe Nate Silver an apology?
I also already see how Bernie Or Bust camp and third party people are being attacked. I disagree: if the party elects the second most unpopular candidate with help of shenanigans, people don't have to vote for her. It is also false to demand that people have to uphold what they perceive to be a corrupt and rigged system.

FA had a hatchet job post up the other day about Jill Stein. I'm betting less than 3 people who regularly read FA were even considering voting for her, but plenty of commenters were calling out the piece for being shoddy.Aneris wrote: I also already see how Bernie Or Bust camp and third party people are being attacked. This is what happens when you put everyone who mildly diverges from your point of view in Camp Shitlord. Lots more people might have held their nose and voted Hillary if they weren't told for months on end that even being critical or less than 100% committed to her was as good as voting for Trump. Enough of them evidently thought "Shit, might as well vote for Trump then if it's no worse."

Mcmullin with 21% of the vote (he's from there) may have cost Hillary Utah.
Re: The Refuge of the Toads
Aussies shares have taken a tumble. Down around 3.5% at one time.
Interesting to see what actually happened. Was it that the Hidden Trump supporters actually existed? Or Hillary supporters didn't bother to come out to vote. Nat is giving Trump 58% chance of presidency at the moment.

Brokaw is trying to do the calm sane we have a job to do thing. Everyone else seem to be having a panic attack except for Chuck Todd. Todd looks like he wants to smack people and tell them he told them so.

That's funny. My wife is terrible upset, even though I told her a couple of days ago I thought this was a likely scenario. Re: The Refuge of the Toads
I admit I gave Trump a zero percent chance of winning. Having proven my prediction ability to be shit, I'll nonetheless make the prediction that he will be the worst president we've ever had. I can't imagine it could be otherwise. I also think we'll see levels of regret that will make the Brexit regret pale in comparison. HL Menken, you are always right!Clarence wrote:I'm laughing my ass off at the people on here who poo-poohed Trumps chances.
