Personally, I find muscular women to be repulsively unattractive.

Muscular sex slaves trigger my Erectile Dysfunction, leaving me in a semi-soft state which cannot be overcome, even by inflicting on a Venus or Serena-type depraved acts... which would otherwise result in diamond-cutter hardness & copious, high muzzle velocity spurting-- all-over Agnieszka Radwanska. Or which-would give Andrea Petkovic plenty to wipe-off her face & recount to Richard Carrier, later.

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Agni ... NaeN1l.jpg

Women's tennis is one of the many sports where females are compensated far-beyond their male equivalents. (Venus and Serena hold the 2nd & 3rd place records, respectively, for fastest serve-speed in Adult Women's Tennis, at just-under 130 mph. According to Forbes Magazine, third-best Serena will earn $24.6 Million this year/ which is 24.6 Million-Times More than the COMBINED compensation for ALL the top high school boys tennis players-- whose serve-speeds EXCEED 130 mph.)

And yet... despite hundreds of millions of dollars of ENCOURAGEMENT which adult women tennis players are over-paid to perform-well on the tennis court...

thank GAWD that TOP TEN female tennis champions STILL prefer to keep themselves willowy & soft... soley in-order to keep my sexist penis stiff & squirty.

All the tournament winnnings & endorsement deals aren't enough to overcome most female players' unfortunate urge to instead please my dong.

Perhaps you find my claim extraordinary-enough to require extraordinary-evidence? Well, in that case, I cite Ophelia Benson on the subject:

Someone named Judith from the original thread is still there hammering away at Carrier, and several people are stepping up to his defense and having a go at her. They don't like how she's parsing and nitpicking Carrier's apology and aren't convinced she's not a troll. Enter Brony who is more on her side than theirs. Judith says one commenter, Kainan, may have defamed her by saying she tried to blackmail Carrier and she asks for a retraction. Carrier feels emboldened enough to tell her she's "just wrong" and making feminists look bad.

All of this is happening with no apparent sense of irony of course. I mean it's not like Carrier and friends have helped to create and nurture this monster, this call-out culture that thrives on parsing every Tweet and every utterance to find any semblance of malice. I guess they don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot. How strange.
Doesn't brony have Tourettes syndrome as well as puppet love? You would think would have more empathy for Carrier.
Also seems to be some suspicion that Judith character is a Slymepit troll.
Will you guys see your way clear to STFU about one of us being a troll? While it is a step in the right direction to not boast about what you are doing over there it is not enough to just hint about it.

Loose lips sink ships so STFU about us trolling. OK?

Predictably, Obama names 'race' and 'wealth' as forms of discrimination, but leaves-out 'gender' discrimination against men:

During a fiery speech at the annual convention of the NAACP in Philadelphia, Obama declared the current U.S. justice system "remains particularly skewed by race and by wealth," and called for legislation that would minimize, or eliminate altogether, minimum sentences for non-violent drug crimes.
I mean, he does mention boys & men; but only with the qualifier of race/ as-if white men aren't treated different from white women, under the law:
"In too many places, black boys and black men, and Latino boys and Latino men, experience being treated different under the law," Obama said, claiming his assertion wasn't "anecdote" or "barber shop talk," but instead backed by data.
My assertion isn't anecdote or barbershop talk, but instead backed by data.

Shatterface as Guest wrote:Without wanting to get into the debate about Greece - which I think might be OT for this site - it's amazing the U-turn left wing commentators have made on the EU in the last week or so, having spent decades attacking critics of the EU as racists and Little Englanders.

The exception to this is the knee-jerk contrarians at Sp!ked who have reversed their previous Euroskepticism and decided that those now critical of the EU are actually Germanophobic.

Shatterface
Got to pick you up on this, the "u-turn" has happened, because Europe has changed. Or at least the "left" has realised the European project isn't what it thought it was. The "left" were never universally in support of the European project, Persons like me were in favor, because I believe people coming together around what unites us is a good thing! The fewer borders, the fucking better!

For a long time a lot of us have known that it's a top heavy corrupt overweight bureaucracy, but presumed that in the long time it would thin out, in essence many of us were taking a leap of faith in the project, because we wanted to believe.

Greece, changed fucking everything. What I knew before the Greece catastrophe, is the one fucking country that actually needs the euro zone is Germany. Anyway Europe actually looks in the mirror during this period, and returns to actually aspiring to be something worthwhile, instead of being an extension of the boardrooms for big corp. It's fucked, and i'll happily watch it burn.

What I believe Greece should do is sue Germany, for the total value of it's debt as reparations for the raping of it's people, occupation of iit's land, theft of its treasure during ww2.

See how quickly Germany would sing a different fucking tune, about responsibility then. To those who say "well Germany is putting up the bulk of the Euro's to keep Greece afloat", like fuck it is, is is giving greece euros the overwhelming majority of which goes directly back to German banks. Merkle is keeping Greece chained to paying interest to the German based baking sector.

Even the IMfuckingF thinks the EU is being to harsh on Greece.

Is the EU trying to solve a financial/economic problem with one of its members or is it trying to teach Greece a lesson?

It had me fooled. For a few minutes, anyway; at a cursory glance it captures the look and feel of government social/health/law'n'order campaigns.

Unlike a crudely drawn map doing the rounds of social media here at the moment; showing approx one third of Australia shaded red to represent purported Chinese landholdings, and inviting you to figuratively storm the ramparts of a government bent on selling the entire country to the yella man.

I'm gobsmacked at a couple of (otherwise sane and intelligent) people I know who've uncritically shared it. Its just so obviously ludicrous. They're embarrassed when its pointed out to them, but people really are primed on the topic at the moment. We're at the tail-end of a real-estate boom, a barely measurable proportion of which is attributable to foreign buyers; but the tabloid media are in a feeding frenzy and want the furry-ners locked out so Our Kids Can Afford A Home.

Few men are attracted to women with bulging muscles, to the point that it's a rare fetish. On the other hand, the Amazon archetype (women with a big, athletic, toned body but still highly feminine with large breasts and hips), is a big divider. Personally, I find this type highly attractive. Back when Serena Williams was in her late teens and early twenties, her body was smaller and tighter than it is now and I think she fit very much in this archetype. With the glow of youth she had at the time, I thought she was a knockout and was surprised this opinion was uncommon.

When she was first dominating, she wanted to step it up even more and trained to become hugely muscular. This actually backfired, as her game regressed and injuries became more of an issue. Then she let herself go for a couple of years and was, appearance-wise, on the sloppy side. Now she's found a happy medium and is back to dominating.

However, it's pretty clear to me she's not nearly as good as she was 10-12 years ago. When I watch video of her then, she moves better and has greater range and she goes for more difficult shots and angles than she does now. There's also precedent: every other woman who was a world-class tennis player in her early twenties declined considerably by her early thirties, to the point where the vast majority were out of the game. So if it's true that Williams is a worse player now but is still easily the best female player in tennis, it's likely the rest of the women's field has declined. And this seems borne out by experience: the other top female players are either highly inconsistent (e.g. Petra Kvitova, who will beat Williams when on her 'A' game but that 'A' game is elusive) or just limited talent-wise. Back in 2004 we had Kim Clijsters, Venus Williams, a much better Maria Sharapova, Lindsay Davenport, and Justine Henin as some of the main competition for Serena, and I think it's clear that's much superior competition than what exists now. It's something of a mystery how there could be this big secular decline, but I guess just bad luck could explain it. The men's tour, on the other hand, indisputably has hugely more talent now than 2004.

First time post, first time reader of just a few days ago, having searched out Carrier in regards to one of his books and finding this post and all the drama. So, I don’t have a history here, but I have to say that I’m not sure all the angst around Carrier’s post suggests a worthwhile venue to visit.
I did see the ‘offensive’ post, and while it’s not really my cup of tea (I’m not interested in what any man says about his own fluids), it seems that when a group is discussing sexuality and explicit porn, etc., there are times when personal aspects or proclivities can creep in and shouldn’t automatically be cause for running a guy out on the rails.
All the extreme parsing and re-parsing of apologies and explanations is tiresome and annoying. It seems this happens too often in online forums–people take exception or offense to one word or the other, and pretty soon, it’s an all-out slap-fest. Geez, the guy apologized and then that is torn apart, leading him to offer a huge genuflect to the gods of internet propriety. Now he has to tiptoe around to make sure he doesn’t cross the guardians.
Sure, an apology may have been needed, but if this had happened at a party in person, he would have been shut down in some way (or ignored), he would have apologized, and then the conversation would have continued. All the extreme caution does in this case is to limit the discourse. IMO, rules should be set, and anything else goes, especially in a venue containing the words “free thought”! If an unseen line is crossed, state as such and let it continue, without punishment. I bet Carrier won’t be posting much here any more, probably a loss given that he does seem to be someone who thinks about things a lot.
I’m sure I’m going to flamed until I’m a crispy carbon skeleton, so be it, have fun.
Mr. or Ms. W is also unfamiliar with Carrier's general in-person party proclivities and how judgmental he and his friends are of said proclivities when held by others...
Isn't Dr Richard Carrier PhD the person who up-votes his own comments on other people's blogs? If so, then it seems a small step (or prequel) to be posting under fake nyms on his own blog. He's really a treat to watch.

Seriously HJ I don’t think they are going to wither away or that there is a “right” way to deal with them.

The stats I’m looking at show a gradual decline. But I’m not about to break out my party hat, at minimum because those stats are incomplete.
As for the rest, I’m in complete agreement. There is no right way to deal with the ‘Pit, not many people can deal with them, let alone would, and I’m not about to challenge any of that. What I am offering is something that might work, to the people who are willing to deal with them. I’m providing hope, with a plan that everyone can peer review and verify for themselves. Even the ‘Pit can help out; hell, you could argue it’s in the ‘Pit’s best interest to help.

 He and Laden really do stick out as being legendarily stupid. So he's quoting his master plan from well over a year ago which promises "it works like a charm against a hate group. Oh my goodness, does it work!". Since nothing has come of this plan with plenty of time for it to play out, he's just proven we're not a hate group. It looks to me like he thinks the mention of the plan alone is a rebuke.

I noticed he avoided quoting the penultimate line of his original post:
HJ Hornbeck wrote:If you’re a skeptic group, you have nothing to fear, and we will be the isolated and dwindling ones.

See that's another data-point confirming Ophelia Benson's theory... Back in 2004 my cock worked fine. I didn't care if a gal looked like Dennis Rodman, I could get it up & get off, using only Shakesville-approved bedroom maneouvers. So there was no incentive for top female players to inhibit their performance by looking more-girly to please me.

But as the last decade progressed, my virility faltered & I increasingly had to oppress women, to get off. The Williams sisters somehow found it in themselves to pursue their many millions rather than my few inches; but, other than them, the entire top tier of women's tennis made the opposite choice.

What women's tennis needs is another Martina Navratilova, because she didn't love cock & was thus free to become a sinewy rich old man.

I think that Greece shows the weakness of a single currency across multiple nations. Greece has had it tough now for seven years and are in even more hot water. If they were on the Drachma they would have had a massive devaluation. This would have caused some extreme hardship but it would have made exports and tourism extremely attractive and allowed to Greece to slowly build itself back up and by now they could have been in a reasonable state. That is if they got rid of some of their structural problems (rich people not paying taxes and a bloated public service).

I'd like to recommend a book around these parts.

As you all know, fantasy as a genre tends to suck balls. The writers are often unoriginal hacks ripping off ideas from 40+ years ago and not doing it particularly well. The characters tend to be shallow and the stories tend towards wish-fulfillment for neerrrrrrrdddsss.

But I've been enjoying Joe Abercrombie's First Law books. Got through The Blade Itself and Before They Are Hanged. I hear the last book sucks, but we'll see.

Maybe I'm just happy to find an asshole as bitter as myself in Glokta.

I hear you young people like this audio book thingy, so here's a link.

Are we the bad guys? (self.swoleacceptance)
submitted 5 hours ago by TheLegendaryBadger

Yesterweek, my swole brother and I had just finished our prayers to Brodin in the Iron Temple. Upon our exit, my swole brother gazed to the heavens and said, "Behold! Brodin has blessed us with sunlight." Not wanting to waste an opportunity, we took off our wife beaters in anticipation of Vitamin D and even tans.

"Let us jog," my swole brother said.

"Not too fast," I cautioned. "Lest we lose our gains and fall upon the path to Broki."

So off we went, our gains gleaming proudly in the sunlight that Brodin had provided for us. All was well, until I beheld several small youth congregating near a sidewalk. Their clothing apparel and accessories sickened me: flat billed hats, long draping shirts with various logos, colored hair, skinny jeans, and large black disks embedded into their ears. Each clutched a plywood board with wheels in their bony, uncalloused hands.

"Skater punks," I growled.

"Let's beat them up," my swole brother suggested. I nodded, then made my way towards the misguided youth, fist clenched with gleeful readiness. The punks saw us coming, and quickly sped away upon their ridiculous boards. It pained me to see such rebellious youth go unbeaten, so I quickened my pace.

A hand slapped my humongous deltoid, and I spun around in surprise. It was my swole brother.

"Easy, brother," he said, "their rate of travel exceeds our limit for cardio. Let them go."

We walked along in silence. Vague memories of my childhood surfaced... a video game called "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater." I had enjoyed that game a lot as a child, but now I remember who the bad guys were in that game. The bad guys were often swole brothers, set out to destroy the protagonists in the game.

Was my childhood a lie? Or have I lived long enough to become the villain?

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet but keep an eye and ear open for the sound of much gnashing of teeth. Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman just dropped and a lot of people are getting extremely upset that Atticus Finch is being depicted as a racist.

Of course actual literate people are defending this is a realistic development which gives the character added depth: that he's a man of his times and yet still is willing to fight for the rights of people he doesn't like.

It is telling that this is how they see a strong feminist character - a character who is weak, obsessed with a man, and pretends to be a little girl. I remember Steers I think kind of going through with me the fact that this is how they see women, and what they think are "strong" women - and if this is what it is, then yes, I understand why they think women need safe spaces and special treatment and need to be away from dangerous language.

Mr. or Ms. W is also unfamiliar with Carrier's general in-person party proclivities and how judgmental he and his friends are of said proclivities when held by others...
Can you imagine being an old-fashioned slightly dusty classicist and ending up on Carrier's blog... that warm splash in the face...

Atticus Finch is a rape apologist. Tom Robinson was almost certainly guilty as false rape allegations by white women during segregation were vanishingly rare.
Also Atticus' IIRC defence relied fairly heavily on representing Tom as a simple man; this sort of lazy stereotyping of people of colour is a clear example of patronising racism.
TL:DR Atticus Finch is a racist misogynist fuck. Fuck him into the ground.

Merkle is keeping Greece chained to paying interest to the German based baking sector.
The oddest thing is that Germany has both suffered under the burden of an unpayable debt (post WWI) and been the beneficiary of a massive campaign of debt forgiveness (post WWII).
The EU was ridiculous to allow Greece to join the Euro after it became clear that they had cooked the books in order to qualify for membership. However it serves the larger federalist drive by Germany and France to create the unified Europe they desire.
The real issue is Greek government spending and the electorates intransigence when presented with what was a reasonable referendum by anyone's standard. Greece has only recently stopped subsidising their milk price (my old gig) from by far the most generous in Europe down to just very bloody generous. Meanwhile the dairy industry here is closing at an alarming rate. An almost universal retirement age of 55 in one of the healthier nations of Europe has created a pension timebomb that cannot be defused by the Greek government. Tax collection knocking around the 60% mark doesn't help much either.
But if German, French and British people have to suffer the death of their agriculture and get to retire at 70-odd so that we can continue to keep Greece in the manner to which she is accustomed then we seem to be in the position of having to pay alimony because our arranged marriage hasn't worked out.
Weird shit.

Check out Kainan's transphobic use of scare quotes around Judith's preferred gender pronouns:
Kainan says

July 13, 2015 at 11:39 pm

abear, I’m glad I’m not the only one to suspect that this “Judith” might be a troll. I thought I was getting paranoid.
The amount of pure aggression in “her” comments is astounding, even if it is slightly gilded by faux politeness.
I mean, that “cake with feces” description of Richard’s open and sincere apology must take the cake:
“What you are asking us to do here is enjoy the rest of the cake and just ignore the feces. No thanks, I’d rather just skip the cake entirely if I have to accept the soiled part with it.”
But notice one thing: “she” contradicts herself, because earlier “she” wrote:
“If I were the only person in the world aside from you, this would be over and done.”
So which is it, really? Would “she” have eaten the “cake” or not?
