I don't know, there's a difference between what SJWs say they want, and what they actually want. They claim to want equality, but it's fairly obvious that what they actually want is power, preferably of the totalitarian kind.James Caruthers wrote:^I love this video. There's a good point in there for all the SJWs who think that what they "want" is complete and total acceptance from and power over society, and this is what will make them happy.
PZ or the horde would not be happy at all in a truly equal society - but I figure they would be very content if someone handed them their own real-life banhammers and gave them free reign to use them as they saw fit.

I just saw this mentioned on the bbc.

Apparently the new Indian health minister is trying to get sex eduction banned in his country and some Indian comedians made a satirical video about it.
The jokes are a bit hit and miss but it does hit the mark with a few good points about the sexism and hypocrisy of those in power in that country - as well as making a fairly subversive joke towards the end thats bound to provoke tears of rage from the feminist anti-porn brigade.
I'm sure I'm missing a few Indian specific jokes that only our Indian commenter(s) will understand.

I am looking forward to the day some little SJW prick decides s/h/it's "calling me out" - even better if it's one of the fuckers who gets the cards printed up. My response will be to take it quite literally, in the old fashioned sense. As the challenged party, my choice of weapons will be European longsword. It's been a while, and I was never exactly an expert, but I do know the basics of how to handle one. I'm betting that the average SJW does not. Of course, they could always apologise.acathode wrote:Didn't we have a way to deal with this "I'm offended!" business once? Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
I was reminded this morning of a song by French artist/catastrophe extraordinaire Didier Super, called Rêve d'un Monde. here are the original lyrics, see if it sounds like your average SJW (use google translate or something):
And if they don't want to understand, I've got the solution:
Deportation for all those intolerant fuckers
And gas chambers for all those racist bastards
And reopen the crematoria to shove in all those fascist cunts.
And those who don't want to understand, I shall snuff them.

I might be on C0nc0rdance's side a bit here, not because of studies, but because I've seen a few friends abusing pot, and it's not pretty. They were IRL examples of those stoned, "have you ever looked at your hand, really?" stereotypes. Mind you, I'm not against a bit of recreational use, as long as people are reasonable. I remember I said to him, at the time, that no one has so far died from an overdose of marijuana (namely because you can't overdose on marijuana). I also remember telling him how doctors prescribe marijuana to ADD and cancer sufferers to improve concentration and ease their nausea, which granted he acknowledged but wouldn't go so far as to accept that smoking it recreationally could not cause long-term harm nor that you couldn't get addicted to it. (You can't get addicted to marijuana. You can get an urge, sure, but it's not the same as the chemical induced addiction that you get from, for example, cigarettes or cocaine.) I suppose that's his "blind" spot.

In Marseilles? I'd be surprised if you can find marijuana at all. Hash is not the same thing. It might get cut and diluted a dozen times before ever making it to euro shores. That shit is much more noxious and toxic than "natural" marijuana. And even then I know of practically no one in europe who smokes it "pure". It's always gigantic spliffs with a bunch of tobacco. Marijuana might not be that bad for you, but the mix of weed/tobacco is more unhealthy than either on their own.Phil_Giordana_FCD wrote: I might be on C0nc0rdance's side a bit here, not because of studies, but because I've seen a few friends abusing pot, and it's not pretty. It's a proper name Lofty, you numb cunt. It might be spelt any number of ways and neither a dictionary nor a spell-checker is going to help. My own surname can be spelt about six different ways and they're all correct, in that someone uses that spelling - just not me.Can’t any of you dullards spell?
"Meyers" is at least as reasonable as "Myers", which frankly looks like something you'd see in a Jeeves and Wooster story when some aristocrat tried to say 'yes'. Not to mention, a brief glance at the quoted text, makes me think that English is not the writer's first language. But why cut someone the slightest bit of slack when they're evil enough to have an opinion different from your own. Eh Lofty?

There were a couple of videos yesterday accusing him of antisemitism. His big crime was asking why the jewish part of the holocaust gets brought up more than the others killed in both the holocaust and other mass slaughters in the world. He also believes that 5 million were killed rather than 6 million since the only evidence for 6 million was a verbal estimate someone gave, whereas better evidence only shows 5 million. He also brought up the very good point that almost no one currently alive was a part of that war. It wasn't our fight. He doesn't deny the holocaust at all. He just doesn't revere it like some do.
None of that is antisemitic. But, of course, the usual religious apologists are acting like he's committed some crime. As far as C0nc0rdance goes, I don't get it. Dusty has always been open about his feelings about drugs.

The addiction thing is what I find to be amusing. The US military drug policy, even back in the early 1980s was to rehabilitate people who were addicted to alcohol or chemically addictive drugs, such as barbiturates, amphetamines and heroine. BUT, if you smoked pot, you just had a moral flaw and it was automatic discharge.Pitchguest wrote:C0nc0rdance is a reasonable person, except when it comes to the recreational use of drugs. Per my comment at JREF
Interesting. Ben legal is down.
If it remains down the possibilities range from BR acknowledging fraud in his evidence though to KS burning some of the 60k on a possible counter suit (per her fundraising comment). I'll leave you to ponder the probabilities.
It leaves me in a quandary though. I am only happy analysing evidence in the public domain, provided by the stakeholders. No public evidence, no analysis. I am not interested in idyl whimsy. If the evidence has been withdrawn, for any reason, then the public court must once more adjourn. No doubt the legal one will grind on.
It will be interesting to wait and see.

http://gendertrender.files.wordpress.co ... engers.jpg
Do you call them she? he? or something else (s/h/it?)?
As they are trans activists you might think that they would themselves prefer that you used 'she'.
But if you don't know they are trans activists then they are pretty indistinguishable from male transvestites, most of whom prefer 'he' as a personal pronoun.
So what do you do?
It's really a no win situation. You have to ask them, and it's possible that even this asking will outrage those so inclined.
I suppose you don't have to ask - you could guess- but that's a gamble too.

Atheism Nerdsplained:
Actually you miss one point. What does your atheism mean? What it should mean, is that you also disbelieve in the society based upon biblical patriarchy, sexism, bigotry, etc. Why should you accept a biblical society with those problems? What is wrong with treating people as people, with respect and dignity? That is what atheism means to those who think beyond the dictionary definition. Those who aren’t too afraid to ask what should be the consequences of being an atheist.
The hivemind of the dictionary defintionist is a waste of something that could be good.
Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
Well, according to Jay, you CAN ask. You just can't say "preferred" when you do.

Zvan's launching a sex appeal? Is this on Kickstarter or something, like the guy with the potato salad? I don't she'll have much luck. People want to eat a tub of potato salad, not fuck it.rayshul wrote:I think she's got more luck with sex appeal.
Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
Oh, for fuck's sake. Do they want to be addressed with some specific pronouns? Fine, although they should understand that it's always a matter of personal choice, and they can't demand others to follow their orders. But do they really think they have the right to police other people's thoughts? Who the fuck do they think they are, the supreme source of morality in the universe? (Of course they do).didymos wrote:Oh, and now the "preferred" in "preferred pronouns" is bad:
Fuck them. It's totalitarian shit like this that actually makes me want to call them trannys or shemales to their faces, just to knock them off the high horse. If they think they have the right to decide what other people should think, they can stuff their girlcocks up their fat asses.

It's not at all physically addictive, although like anything else, it can become psychologically addictive (like biting your fingernails). There are a lot of false stats though from addiction centers.Tribble wrote:The addiction thing is what I find to be amusing. In the mean time, the US Government was still pushing an understanding of marijuana along the lines of Refer Madness.
The false stats are due to court cases in which the judge offers a marijuana smoker the choice of rehab or jail. They almost always choose rehab and play along when the rehab considers them addicted and in need of their treatment.

Dear me. Lister should never have encouraged him to break his programming. He really can't manage when he goes off script. For starters, let's look at that word believe. It has more than one meaning. When I say I don't believe in god. I mean I don't think god exists. If I say I don't believe in bigotry (to borrow one of Nerd's terms) It means I don't approve of it. I know full well that it exists. This is one reason why atheism does not necessarily imply any other non-belief.didymos wrote:Atheism Nerdsplained:

We can pass over the fact that neither the society I live in, nor the one Nerd lives in, actually derive much of their nature directly from "biblical patriarchy". You know, all that smiting and stoning and sacrificing your children.
"What is wrong with treating people as people, with respect and dignity?" Nothing at all Nerd. I suggest you try it sometime.
"The hivemind of the dictionary defintionist is a waste of something that could be good." A bunch of people who have little in common except that they don't believe something is about as far from a "hivemind" as can be imagined. And what's the "good" thing we could be? Is it you Nerd? Given the option, I'll take my lethal injection now.

Seriously, the top comment on that video is some fool whining that he had to stop it at the word nigger in case his two-year old heard it. It's called Anti-Feminist advice on Rape Culture: Part 1. Wasn't that a clue that it wasn't intended for pre-schoolers?
Re: Nerds. Nerds EVERYWHERE...
Yeah, I've experienced that. When I quit smoking it took me seven years to not have the desire (physical action) of smoking even though the nicotine addiction was long, long, long gone (about two weeks, maybe less).Scented Nectar wrote:It's not at all physically addictive, although like anything else, it can become psychologically addictive (like biting your fingernails). I've generally found that when there is some time of incentive (usually money) involved, many so-called problems/dangers to become hugely magnified, often to moral-panic level, and honesty is the first casualty in dealing with the various situations. Even worse, the movements (and their organizations) tend to mission creep and hanging-on well past any useful purpose while continuing to find trivial issues they can magnify or, in many cases, just make stuff up to stoke the coffers. The false stats are due to court cases in which the judge offers a marijuana smoker the choice of rehab or jail. Occupy Wall Street is classic. The SJW hordes over-ran it and destroyed it from within as they all had to be the 'special snowflake leader' with their uniquely insightful worldview and demands, the flip side of conservatives and conservatism, which (apparently) is to be expected: http://tinyurl.com/nxgucu5
I just wish I could get to the whole study, not the run-downs. http://pss.sagepub.com/content/25/1/137 But I'm not going to use my wife's University Library account for something this trivial even though she's really cool about it.“Liberal social movements might struggle to develop solidarity and formulate shared goals within their ranks, both because liberals want to maintain unique beliefs and because they underestimate the amount of agreement among their members,†Stern explains. “Conservative social movements might initially capitalize on perceiving agreement to galvanize their ranks, but their inaccurate perceptions could impair group progress when actual agreement is necessary.

Dumb parents always blame the media. It's never their fault for letting their children see or hear something that was obviously not intended for them. It's media that it's not "kid friendly" enough.Seriously, the top comment on that video is some fool whining that he had to stop it at the word nigger in case his two-year old heard it. Isn't that a bit of a 'female privilege' argument? I thought life for women on the internet was one long ordeal of harassment, rape threats and PTSD?

Only for those who aren't "cute".Isn't that a bit of a 'female privilege' argument? I thought life for women on the internet was one long ordeal of harassment, rape threats and PTSD?
The problem here is that radfems are incredibly obnoxious and aggressive to everyone ("I'm reading, fuckface", etc,). Since the Internet is the wretched hive ofscum and villainy, if you are an annoying dick you'll get death threats, rape jokes and such.
When women who are actually polite show up, many of course try to flirt with them, but others are simply far more pleasant with people who are pleasant. It's a natural reaction.
If the SJWs weren't dedicated to being professional passive-aggressive whiners, maybe they'd realize that they get more people to agree with them oi they were polite. But no, requesting a degree of politeness and civility is "tone trolling" (i.e. doesn't allow them to feel like victims of the Evil Men.)
