Tony might actually be one of those who reads the Pit but pretends he doesn't. Either way, he must lie out his queer shoop and spread the propaganda that we fight equality for women, etc. As you know it's been this way since the beginning, even though the Pit is clearly more tolerant and pro-equality than the FtB/Skepchunk/A+ crowd.
It's popular to hate on the Pit because we're the people sitting in the back of the class, laughing while shooting spitballs at the self-righteous bastards who think they deserve the front row, but there's no question in my mind that the Pit has made a difference in this skizzim, and that people know we have Peezus and his congregation nailed dead to rights.[/quote]
Well, thundercoontz and AmazingAtheist have contributed a lot to youtube's rejection of SJWism. In that sense, it's two sides of a cult of personality fighting it out.
Then there's the "penisosphere" and its loose relationship with embittered atheists who got sick of Watson's crying, lying and witch hunting. But the penisosphere existed before elevatorgate.
Let's not forget twitter, where I think the slymepit has made a contribution by showcasing the inzvanity of FTB, Skepchick and Atheism Plus. David Silverman, Richard Dawkins Shermer and Grothe became targets of smear campaigns, and as for Radford, who knows, but this rash of accusations further solidified the Commentariat's position as a bunch of radfem nutters.
There have been so many influential figures within atheism who have categorically rejected SJW dogma. SJWism is antithetical to the big tent approach and just bad politics, if I may be cynical. But there's the ideological component as well, as many SJWs are anti-free expression and want to create a new legal system, whereas many atheists became atheists (as Dillahunty might say) when they realized there probably is no god, no high moral authority and original sin is bullshit. So atheists are understandably touchy about religious ideology creeping in.
The schism seems to be one small battle in the larger war of SJW feminism vs Everyone Else, and unfortunately, Everyone Else aren't doing as well as I'd like.
It's probably easier to list the famous atheists who DO support SJWism than list the ones who don't. Even folks like Concordance and DPRJones have made cautious, tentative condemnations.
