A reasoning person would chalk that up to paranoia, like with Nixon. But you go on and play the doting mommy that Donald never had.
Yeah, like a public figure who is a world leader with a ton of sjw hate never has reason to record his interactions with people he knows are hostile.

Coming back to the Pit these days kind of feels like going to some sjw blog. Yikes, what's happened here? The avoidance of points, the lack of logic and comprehension, the ad homs, the over-hate of anyone on the right, the blind belief of anything negative written about a designated enemy, holy crap!

Not that all Pitters have become like that. NAPALT.

Sorry, busy day. Trump's biography is full of stories of him bluffing, but you'll have to settle for the above link for a better view of our Cheeto in Charge. Or you might look at his "armada" headed to North Korea (actually Australia) that disappointed and alarmed our allies to see Trump bluff.

By the way, even most Republicans and close Trump allies think the tweet threatening Comey was a serious mistake, a bluff or strategic blunder. The use of the medium Twitter should say it all, but never mind. Seriously, read even Trump's own accounts and you will see bluffing and intimidation is a part of his repertoire. Read whatever sources you feel are untainted, back before he started running for president.

I wonder what would make an ordinarily sane and reasonable person support Trump? I mean, I understand if you just want to see it all burn, that if you figure it must be destroyed to be rebuilt better. But actually believing the man, supporting him, thinking he cares beyond his own narcissism and ego? That I don't understand. He's burned so many people over his career, and I've followed him since the 80's. Not paying the help, burning his partners and dealing with shady characters. Just all documented things he's done...but thinking he's changed now, I can't fathom it. He's his own worst enemy.

If you think Trump can survive this, you can actually make decent money betting on it, should such gambling be legal where you live. He's not favored to survive at all, so a little earns a lot.

But let's be generous with Trump's accomplishments so far...a very conservative Supreme, not unlikely to overturn Roe v Wade, bombing Syria, a deal to strip millions of Americans from health care, de-funding climate change and the EPA, muzzling employees of scientific organizations working for the US government, and trying to strip several national monuments of their protected status. Not to mention enhancing the reputation of the USA among our allies, especially in the intelligence community.

So, Scented, what would you say is Trump's great achievements so far? What part of his stated agenda do you feel will advance the US or Canada's interests? I'm genuinely curious.

Saying somebody else may have been worse is rarely exculpatory. Why don't you show us, with links, the legal precedent for that? Or explaining your reasoning, that apparently extends into seeing the future in alternate realities? Hillary being a terrible person is something I wholeheartedly agree with, but in no way does it excuse Trump's actions. That it does excuse him is the reasoning of a small, petulant, not-too-bright child.

In any case, I wonder where you get the idea that I'm trying "excuse Trump's actions, though it is maybe understandable, particularly if you're not up on your Bible studies:
Christianity Stack Exchange

What is meant by “love covers over a multitude of sins”?

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” (1 Pet 4:8, NKJV)

Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins. (Prov 10:12, NKJV)

What does it mean for "love to cover a multitude of sins"? Does it mean one of the following?
  • Love prevents you from seeing or noticing sins at all?
  • Love allows you to see sins, but you overlook/ignore them?
  • Love allows you to see sins, but you forgive them?
  • Something else?
4 Answers

Love certainly does not mean ignoring sins or not noticing them at all. It is unloving for us to notice a fellow Christian living in sin and not help them. And when they sin against us, we are not to act like nothing happened in all cases, but we are to confront them Biblically when appropriate.
I figure Christians have a tendency to bend over backwards to supine lengths - as Dawkins put it - but it seems clear that the intent is "not to act like nothing happened" but to confront the supposed guilty party and show them the errors of their ways - so to speak.

And, more particularly, it seems clear, or quite plausible to argue, that Clinton would have been hell-on-wheels in comparison to the way Trump is; the only option on the table now is, apparently, to get him to change the worst of his policies and actions. And if that isn't possible then maybe impeachment may be the only solution - and hopefully the lesser of two evils.

I doubt he intentionally intimidates anyone except if needed defensively. But, with bluffing, so what if he strategically bluffs sometimes? It still would NOT be strategic to do so in THIS situation if he had actually said anything bad during that meeting, plus, I doubt this one's a bluff. In his position, I'd be recording EVERYTHING. Even ordinary non-public-figures have to do it now and then, since people try to fuck you over occasionally. Do you really think it's NOT likely that he's going to record that meeting for real? Comey was known to be very hostile to him and friendly to his opposition. It's a no brainer.

Well, gambling in the USA is mostly illegal, so I wouldn't recommend it. You'd have to get some BitCoin and use some sort of proxy server to look like you're from outside the US and then, even if you made money earlier during the election that was supposed to be for your boat but instead ended up in vet bills, it would be wrong. Definitely don't use an Onion router and go on the "Dark Web" or anything like that, either, because that would be wrong as well.

Today's Trump screwup report:
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/1 ... ing-238617
The new Times story cited a document that summarized Trump’s meeting with Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and the Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.
“I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Trump said, according to the Times. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”
He trusted the Russians enough to tell them that he fired Comey in order to stop the Russia investigation. So he not only blabs top secret information he is not supposed to share with the Russians but confesses to what is basically a criminal act (obstruction of justice) to his Russkie friends.
What is with this guy? He hates the sane part of the news media, distrusts the CIA, holds the FBI director in contempt, basically threatens economic warfare with his 3 largest trading partners, threatens to abandon his allies, then talks with what are basically enemies of the US like they are buddies.

No, you had a rush of posts earlier regarding Trump's bluffing Coney, for which you asked for precedent. I did throw in a link or two as regarding his character, which is highly entertaining reading.

But I'm not asking you to comment on all the links, just answer what he's done so far that you approve of. Perhaps the arms sale and Suadi trip? His choice of Pence as Vice President? Feel free to ignore all the previous links, as I'm sure you have already.

You do have something other than insults and disparaging nearly all the media as fake news, yes?

Re: The Trump Dump!

Posted: Fri May 19, 2017 4:18 pm
by CaptainFluffyBunny
Again, I always am amazed that anybody would feel a personal connection to an elected official. Rather than openly acknowledging that the man has faults, the blame is squarely placed on the person criticizing Trump and disparaging the source of information.

It's very true that the mainstream media demonized Trump to an extent, which was a serious mistake as it undermined trust and in fact the man needed no extra commentary, he was quite bad enough on his own. At best the man is a hucksters, a carnival barker writ large. The only real thing anybody needed to know not to vote for him was his failure to release his tax forms. The continual stream of demonstrable lies he told on the campaign trail was icing on the cake.

But here we are, and Trump's defenders constantly deflect any criticism by "fake news" even as it becomes clear to the Republicans and his allies that Trump is struggling and may be in severe trouble. It is in no way fake news that the man has made some severe blunders, and the course he's setting is hardline conservative and favors the wealthy while appeasing the Christians. It is looking very probable that there are ties to the Russians, and even if they don't cross legal thresholds, they blow past ethical ones. This isn't fake news, and even as sources disagree over the extent and severity, there are some facts that cannot be ignored.

It disappoints me greatly that you would simply dismiss and insult people. There is a growing body of evidence, and handwaving it away as fake news while calling people gullible SJWs is hardly a credible response, or even one worthy of you.

Again, I fail to see why somebody would personally identify with Trump and take any criticism of him personally. Would you care to elaborate?

But I'm not asking you to comment on all the links, just answer what he's done so far that you approve of. Perhaps the arms sale and Suadi trip? His choice of Pence as Vice President? Feel free to ignore all the previous links, as I'm sure you have already.

You do have something other than insults and disparaging nearly all the media as fake news, yes?
I asked for precedent on something to do with the tapes that you think are a bluff? Whatever. I'm not going back to figure out what you're referring to. And I'm not going to argue it anyways, either. I'm not going to try to convince you of why I approve of Trump so much. We'll have to agree to disagree on Trump. Lol, not touching it anymore. Not with a ten foot pole. Not even with Trump's 20 foot massive dick.

CaptainFluffyBunny wrote:Again, I always am amazed that anybody would feel a personal connection to an elected official.

What's this "a personal connection to an elected official" and "personally identify with Trump" nonsense? Can't it possibly be that I like his policies, opinions, and attitude? That didn't occur to you?

I tried arguing points with you and a couple others. It was too annoying and frustrating. I'm not simply dismissing and insulting like you say I'm doing. I'm dismissing and insulting AFTER trying to argue it the normal way!

Sorry everyone, for triggering Lsuoma Squared. I had no idea that a dedicated thread meant that strict martial law was now in force elsewhere in the forum. I can't read minds so I genuinely thought the dedicated thread was a suggestion, not a law. Your dictator here has thrown a tantrum though, and it is his safe space after all, so I'll behave for the rest of my visit back here, what's left of it (probably not much).

I also didn't know that posting the Monty Python picture in the main thread was a crime too. I thought I just wasn't supposed to discuss you-know-who because it caused me to be guilty of first degree 'boring the dear leader'. It turns out that even making a joke picture that has you-know-who's name, even though I left out any potentially boring arguments, extended my given sentence (word switches applied to everyone, not just the 'guilty', kinda like when they imprison or shoot your whole family in N Korea if you commit a crime). It's been extended from whatever time length we were not told of before, to whatever time length it is going to be now, afterwhich Lsuoma Squared will revert it back.

*Trivia, dissidents in N Korea are now calling their dear leader "Kim Squared" due to having the craziness of himself, his father, and his grandfather combined and times itself or something.

That must be it. It can't have anything to do with the shittiness of what YOU did.

Don't mind me. Just filling up this pool with chocolate pudding. Let me know when the two of you wish to duke it out proper so we can all watch.

I'm not sure which is the more embarrassing public spectacle: trump's meltdown, or Scented's meltdown defending trump's meltdown.

Oh, my. I wonder if we're seeing another Watergate moment, forty-odd years on? Who's going to be the John Dean here, and rat out all his erstwhile buddies?

My bet is there are lower staff members that probably pledged to some half-assed loyalty pledge/ asked to do some skeevy stuff that realize that they will pay for their own lawyers and the Dirty Don can't help them with the bills.
There will be more than one person and more than central scandal.

Fuck you Lurch, I have no idea what laying the pipes is and my only interest in 45 is to point and laugh at Americans in general and anyone having a tantrum over a democratic election result. Please don't mention me again in this thread. TY.

Question for the pro-Trump folks here. What level of campaign collusion with Russian intelligence would put you off, and would sort of evidence would it take to convince you?
