President Trump hates people that lie for personal gain or to cover their ass!
https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/donald- ... en-1957308
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump called Monday for "a long prison term" after his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen admitted lying to Congress about pursuing a real estate deal with Russia on Trump's behalf during the 2016 election campaign.
He also repeated his accusation that Special Counsel Robert Mueller -- who is investigating possible collusion between Russia and Trump's campaign -- is forcing witnesses to make up lies damaging to the president.
How is this not intimidating witnesses or abuse of power by trying to pressure a judge's decision? Also:
The president praised former political advisor Roger Stone, who has rejected allegations that he abetted Russian interference to help Trump in the 2016 election through contacts with WikiLeaks, which published stolen emails that embarrassed Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

Trump cited Stone's pledge to never testify against him.

"Nice to know that some people still have 'guts!'" Trump wrote.
Pardon me, but isn't that possible witness tampering?

It is absolutely, clearly witness tampering. Can you imagine Trump's attorneys reading that shit for the first time? Let's hope they were already on the toilet when it happened. One thing you have to admire about Trump, is his sheer, brazen balls. He may not have intelligence, ethics or even the least sense of what he's doing, but he does have big cojones. He's flagrantly defying the law and ethics, and daring somebody to try and stop him. It's up to Mueller now. Showdown in the Swamp...naw, somerbody help me out here...Beat Down on Beltway? Dammit...

Trump may have reason to be concerned, given that in a late-night court filing in Manhattan Friday, Cohen's lawyers revealed that their client, a former Trump fixer, has been cooperating with four separate law enforcement groups: Mueller, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York, the New York attorney general's office, and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

Basically, Trump can only pardon federal crimes. He might be looking at some problems beyond his "get out of jail free" card can fix. The article is worth a read.

Textbook narcissism. Narcissists believe that everything is owed to them and that nothing can stop them. He DOES care about being popular and beloved by his fans, he's even desperate for approval and recognition, but believes all his critics to be simply personal haters out to get him because it's him.

He fits PERFECTLY into our media-obsessed society, that's one of the reasons why he was elected president. He's first and foremost a celebrity. He's good at getting attention with shameless antics. He has a lot in common with the contestants on his old game show, he just is much richer and more famous.

We live in a world that heavily rewards narcissists on social media. Trump's rise to power is, by and large, a product of our times.

Basically Trump approaches the laws and ethics that regulate his job as a president as if they were the rules of a reality show: they're there to make the challenge of cheating and scamming the other contestants harder, otherwise they're guidelines at best, and if you have the support of a vocal fan base you can do whatever you want and still win.

Wasn't the buzz supposed to be that Epstein got off easy because he was pals with Bill and Hillary? The prudent course would be to open an investigation of the Clintons in this matter and another investigation of why the other investigations haven't gotten the Clintons locked up yet.

Epstein is also a longtime friend of Prince Andrew and Tom Barrack,[54] and has partied with celebrities such as President Donald Trump,[55] Katie Couric, George Stephanopoulos, and Woody Allen.[56] Trump said of Epstein in 2002: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."[57]

The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office.

“Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt.

Tucker Carlson has principles. Terrible principles, far-right, ultra-conservative principles, bigoted ones, but still, he believes in something, he has actual ideas. He might even have read a few books on politics or philosophy.

Trump is just a shit-stirring con man who has exploited bigotry only as a mean to the end of getting rich and rewarding his cronies. He also enjoys the trill of having a fan base and having power in general. But beyond that he doesn't really give a shit. "Yeah, but I won't be here". Some Trump supporters are slowly realizing that they've been conned and that all the "owning the libs" doesn't actually amount to much in concrete terms.

Basically there two kinds of Trump fans: the ones who only want to "trigger the libs" and cheer for their Gold Haired Emperor, and the committed ultra-conservatives/far-righters like Carlson, who actually wanted the wall, the "muslim ban", and other paleocon ideas like cutting Planned Parenthood and gutting the ACA.

Got a nit to pick: Voter fraud is fraud perpetrated by voters. This is election fraud. The main difference is that the latter actually happens sometimes (and wouldn't be stopped by voter ID laws because, again, it's not the voters committing the fraud).

If the Southern District’s fury at Cohen is notable, its explicit accusation that President Trump directed and coordinated campaign finance violations is simply stunning. The prosecutors’ openness suggests they are sure of their evidence and have mostly finished collecting it. It’s a sign of a fully-developed, late-game investigation of the president’s role, one that may soon make its way to Congress.
There's more. The notion that the President didn't collude with a hostile foreign power or break campaign finance law may now be thoroughly dismissed. Not only that, but there is a great deal of firm evidence to prove it. Trump has tried to brazenly lie his way through this, I guess we'll see how well that works. But any defense of Trump must now be made with the full knowledge that he broke the law and may well be considered a traitor.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/mueller-i ... -collusion
But a flurry of recent activity this past week all points in the same direction: Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will likely implicate the president, his campaign, and his close associates in aiding and abetting a Russian conspiracy against the United States to undermine the 2016 election.
Third, Mueller has found evidence that Trump was compromised by a hostile foreign power during the election. In his plea deal, Cohen revealed that Trump had repeatedly lied to voters about the then-candidate’s financial ties Russia. While Trump claimed during the campaign to have no business dealings with Russia, he was negotiating a wildly lucrative business deal not simply with Russian businessmen, but also involving with the Kremlin itself. Trump’s team even reportedly tried to bribe Russian President Vladimir Putin by offering him a $50 million penthouse.

Worse, Russia not only knew that Trump was lying, but when investigators first started looking into this deal, the Kremlin helped Trump cover up what really happened. That made Trump doubly compromised: first, because he was eager to get the financial payout and second because Russia had evidence he was lying to the American people—evidence they could have held over Trump by threatening to reveal at any time.
A little breathless, but not wrong. And, of course, this is simply the tip of the iceberg. The full report should be very interesting.

IF there's an impeachment, the GOP are going to be in shambles even more. They've invested too much on Trump, and an impeachment will taint their reputation even more. Plus at least some of the Trump uber-fans will likely stay home or vote for some third party, disgusted by the "cuck betrayal".

I don't think that any impeachment process, IF there is one, is going to be quick and painless anyway. Trump will fight it at any stage and use every trick he can to avoid it. It's going to be long and messy and if he goes to wreck the GOP to stay in power he will.

It's becoming increasingly likely that 2020 is just gone for the Republicans. Dems would have to run Hillary Clinton again with a campaign slogan of "Fuck You Dumbasses, I Told Ya So!" to even have a shot at losing. The only thing Trump is still any good for is judicial appointments, and Pence would be good enough for the remaining two years if they could hang onto him. The only tricky part is wondering how much bitter-enders will damage mainstream Republicans in their primaries.

Or to put it another way, I wouldn't be surprised if the party leadership is floating the idea of superdelegates.
