Right first quick review gives me nurses orders from Com, a single unverified action by the H2O and fuck all from Fuzzy.

Naturally MarcusAu is on message and of course I exceeded expectations.

It's 11.00pm Atlanta time Sunday night. Tick tock.

I will do a proper name and shame/celebrate review tonight.

Week 3 Results: Monday 23 to Sunday 29 May

A mixed bag this week.

Com .... was certified medically unfit to walk and sidelined. Hopefully he will be back real soon.
Fuzzy .... started strong and then dropped the ball to record a single exercise. No sex doesn't count.
MarcusAu .... excelled walking 78 miles in the week ! Bravo
I .... maintained continued operational excellence

Concentrated H2O (OM) was a late starting dark horse logging a 45 min walk. Hopefully he will tech-up with Run Tracker and commit to the benchmark of (min) three >30 min verified exercises a week ....... No flaccid players accepted.

I'm not sure how to certify given the nature of my workouts but I'll begin posting and see what happens. My workouts are in one of the following forms: stationary bike (measured by calories burned), surfing, (measured by time in the water although there are new gps devices that measure distance paddled and I'm looking into those), indoor rock climbing (measured by time), and golf (measured by holes walked). Starting with Thursday:
Thursday, 18 holes walked (consensus seems to be that 18 holes is around six miles of walking)
Friday, 1.5 hours climbing
Saturday, stationary bike 510 calories burned

Cool. I normally distinguish between certified and logged activity. But if you are happy to commit to several weeks of at least three seperate vigorous activities - go for it!

I have not walked this week, however: I have joined a gym. In the past, this has been perfect for me and my target-chasing nature, so here goes.

Next Sunday, I will post times and, hopefully, pounds lost. This could be misleading, as I used to put muscle on pretty good. Let's see if that is still the case. Good luck to you all this week.

Week 4 Results: Monday 30 to Sunday 05 June

An interesting mix of triumph and tragedy .....

Fuzzy .... is missing in action. Memorial service to what might have been to be held ASAP
MarcusAu .... excelled again walking >10 miles per day for 7 days straight
I .... maintained continued operational excellence
Concentrated H2O (OM) begged forgiveness for a false start by joining a gym and guaranteeing results.
PeterB joined the club with a credible 3 logged exercises and strong commitment.

An amazing rollercoaster ride of peaks and troughs.....

Fuzzy .... remains missing in action.
MarcusAu .... shockingly fails to post and breaks his brive-esque run
I .... maintained continued operational excellence
Concentrated H2O (OM) logs a credible 3 sessions.
PeterB logs 5 rather intimidating pieces of exercise.
Com makes a surprise return with a single certified exercise.

Is it possible to join in at this late stage? Well, from the end of next week, once I get to France. What is the app you are using?

All things are possible - ie no one is going to kick you out.

Initially, we were doing a 6 week trial run - and currently we are in week 5. So, technically next week is the last - but who knows this may get extended.

Runkeeper is the popular choice of app to keep track:

https://runkeeper.com/

- There is a little more about qualifying distances, activities and frequency about 2/3 of the way down page one of this thread.

Oh - and good luck!

Today I reached 25 lbs. of lost weight, since March 1. Gotta tell someone. Why not here.

For the last week, I've tracked my food & exercise using the SparkPeople app. It's bloated with Women's Exercise Magazine crap, like banner ads for wedding rings & fluffy articles. But it has a big database of nutrion label data for various foods, plus it can scan barcodes.

It's not optimal for keto-- for one thing-- it counts total carbs, without subtracting the amount of fiber. I'd prefer not seeing Calories at-all. Just Carbs, Fat, and Protein.

SparkPeople's philosophy is like Brive's...
Brive1987 wrote:
My theory is cut all the processed sugars, no fast food and eat smaller portions - all buttressed by exercise.

What could go wrong?
I think Brive might be enough of a machine to make that work. But the housewives on SparkPeople are struggling. When they cut sugar & calories... their metabolism slows down. Their body wants to conserve, so they don't feel like exercising. Their energy-level & mood sags & they're tempted to quit. I was stuck at 198.6 pounds for a few days, & was a bit demoralized. Yesterday was a friend's backyard cookout... I ate an extra 1,200 calories beyond break-even, including a couple alcoholic drinks/ and skipped my daily exercise. And at noon today, I had dropped 2 pounds. I'm pretty sure yesterday's feast tricked by body into higher metabolism, for a net loss.

Or-- who knows? Maybe it was returning to my habit of putting a spoonful of coconut oil in my coffee, as the first thing I burn in the morn.
Or going back on Onnit T+ supplements... which seem to cause an increase in boners.

I walk 30 mins to and from work each day and walk another 30mins to an hour at lunch and I don't think it's worth recording that tbh, it's pretty regular...

But I have had a health scare around hypertension recently (my heart gon explode!) and went on the DASH diet - http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifes ... t-20048456 - it's a medical diet to stop hypertension. I've been doing it for almost 7 weeks, have lost 10 kilos and my blood pressure has dropped an insane 45 points (systolic).

I'd deffo recommend it as an option. I don't feel hungry at all and sleep less, wake up refreshed, and yea, generally it's pretty sweet.
